    Sake flight! - December 2025
    Diana G.

I tried some new dishes & sushi! All the sushi ingredients were fresh and tasty. Service was fine. I loved their holiday decorations. Karaage (chicken): Delicious and lightly fried. Not too spicy with a great flavor. The draft beer seemed like it was a really small pour, maybe just 12 ounces. I loved the cute koi cups for my sake flight! Sushi Tuna Lover: I worried that the cream cheese would be too heavy, but it was really pleasant! Tokyo: I loved the spice from the jalapeño and the variety of fish on the top of the sushi. Champa Special: I loved the shrimp tempura, but because this roll comes without nori (dried seaweed), the large pieces were hard to pick up and fell apart easily. So tasty!

Stopped in Champa for dinner last night and it did not disappoint! Rachel was our server and was full of energy, shared recommendations and was overall a great server. Our food was delicious! I tried the sweet angel and shrimp tempura sushi rolls and others tried a curry dish that they loved. All of it was full of flavor and very filling. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated for Christmas and had a nice vibe. I will return when in the Raleigh area again.

    K-SESAME CHICKEN

I came in for lunch with my young child on a weekday when school was out. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and service is friendly. The menu is massive, with lots of Thai and Japanese options, including an extensive selection of sushi rolls. I got a soft shell crab bun and the drunken noodle with duck (they offer duck as a protein option!), plus a sesame chicken off the kids' menu. The crab bun was a sight to behold, and tasty too, with a light fry on the crab that wasn't greasy. It was a little messy to eat, and I think the bun overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the crab some, but still delicious. The drunken noodle was solid. I'd opted for no spice in case my kid wanted to try some, so I cannot speak to how they titrate the spiciness here. The kid sesame chicken was the only disappointment. While the portion was massive, the chicken was soggy and not that fun to eat.

I happened to stumble across this place in Brier Creek while looking for another restaurant and decided to give them a try. Let me tell you, I'm so happy I did! First, the service was amazing! Every single person that worked there was soooo happy, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant itself was very clean and decorated beautifully. Such a great atmosphere! And the food! The food was delicious!!! Everything was so flavorful. I had the volcano shrimp, pad se-ew, and the sticky rice with mango. The portion sizes were very generous. I had plenty left to take home. I can't wait to go back and try more!

Stir Fry Bento & Champa Sushi Bento
    Sydney H.

Came here for dinner on a tuesday night around 6pm and was seated immediately. Our server got our drinks out fast which was great. We ordered 2 different bento boxes and thai basil entree (not pictured). Our bento boxes came with miso soup which were good. Our bento boxes were a decent size and came with lots of food! I got the stir fry bento with calamari salad and chicken stir fry. I didn't know what to expect with the calamari salad, but it wasn't my favorite. Wasn't a fan of the chewy texture and taste. The chicken stir fry was pretty soupy and same with the thai basil that we got. Otherwise, the tempura and sushi that came with it was good. The rice also was a little dry and hard. I would come back here for the sushi though! Our waitress was attentive and refilled our drinks promptly.

    THAI LETTUCE WRAP
    Dana B.

The food was good, but not exceptional. My husband ordered the lettuce wraps, and I had the Thai basil beef dish. 1. The lettuce wraps looked generous, but most of the volume came from the crispy rice noodles underneath--there wasn't actually much meat. 2. I usually expect a Thai basil dish to be packed with onions, peppers, and a strong basil flavor. This one fell short--the basil was barely noticeable. The flavor was okay overall, just not what I anticipated. That said, if you're a fan of carrots (which I am), you'll appreciate this dish. The service was good, and the restaurant had a nice vibe.

My bf and I tried this little place for the first time. We got the firecracker shrimp appetizer (delicious), he got the bento box with squid salad (delicious), miso soup (delicious), and I got the philadelphia roll and the mango sticky rice. I LOVED the mango sticky rice and inhaled it, haha! 4/5 stars because all the food was perfect except the sushi. I am not a picky eater and have had all kinds of sushi. Dare I say... grocery store sushi is better than theirs. The rice was wrong.. I'm not sure exactly what I mean but the roll was bland and the rice was gritty, mind you it is only $8.99 but with all the rolls, I expected it to be great. I think I might have just ordered the wrong thing. Like I said, everything else tasted GREAT and we will be back, I just will avoid the sushi. The inside of the restaurant is adorable and fun, and they have nice outside seating too. Our waiter was SO KIND, attentive, and kept checking on us. My sticky rice was going to take longer than the other food and he kept us informed. He even chased us down when we left the leftovers inside. Overall, it would be a perfect 10 out of 10 experience if not for the weird sushi roll. Please don't let that stop you from checking out this hidden gem.

Super good drunken noodles. We had great service, no wait & our food was brought out fast.

Do not believe what you see on Uber eats! Yelp is so much better of an indicator of quality. This was not a good experience. Every time I leave Winston, I get sushi. The yellow tail roll was fishy, the tuna avocado roll was fishy, everything was fishy. The only thing that was edible was the tuna love roll that was drenched in spicy sauce. (which is the only thing that masked the fishyness. The top it all off, the tuna lover roll was $25!!! You would have expected the role to be huge and actually have a good amount of tuna on the top but instead it was super skimpy portions. Lesson here, check yelp before ordering on uber eats.

    Champa Special Roll

I stopped in for weekday lunch with my husband. Very friendly service and extensive menu. We ordered the Thai Iced Tea to start and 2 sushi roll special - Magma and Champa Special Rolls. They were made quickly, and were deliciously presented in a sushi boat! We loved the presentation and loved the flavor even more! Be sure to pay with cash for a discount. Highly recommend Champa!

    Udon Soup

Hmm, left we expecting better. The place was crowded on a Saturday night and we ended up sitting at the sushi bar. Cool corner location with solid lighting and decor. Our server was extremely friendly and helpful. They tripped on the food. First, don't put uni on your menu if you rarely have it. Perhaps just a pet peeve but I ask in a place like this and know the answer before I've gotten it out of my mouth. I had a spicy tuna roll and udon soup with tofu. The soup begged for more udon and flavor in the broth. I ordered medium spice and it was low on the heat. Great potential and limited love on the menu. Meh

    Vegetable green curry
    Chandra J.

So, I had Champa a few months ago through Uber Eats and was blown away by their veggie pineapple rice. I was just as blown away yesterday when I decided to dine in. The place was packed, so I sat at the bar. I had already decided that I wanted curry, so I was torn between red, green, and yellow. I asked the server about them, and she said she didn't really know. I went with the green curry and vegetables as my protein. When I asked what vegetables were included with this, she again said she didn't know but never offered to ask or get back to me with the answer. I waited a while for my food, which I was expecting. I got to check out more of their decor and see the sushi makers make magic! The wait was worth it as my curry came out piping hot! The first thing I noticed was all the veggies--broccoli, onions, carrots, bok choy, green beans, and other colorful veggies filled my bowl! I took a big first bite and was blown away by the delicious heat and spice. Every bite was so good! Wish that my stomach could fit more, but I took this deliciousness home where it will greet me for lunch or dinner! Minus one star for the service as my server never came back to check on me and was not helpful with the menu selections. I will be back for more deliciousness!

What a great idea! I like to come here for one dish: the squash curry or the pumpkin curry. It's either vegetarian or vegan, so yeah, it's pretty much the highlight of the menu as far as I'm concerned. It's called the Manda Curry or Mom's Curry: Slow-cooked house coconut curry with fresh root vegetables, jasmine rice, and pumpkin. It reminds me of Vientiane Palace's Squash Curry. Upscale ambience!

We came in with some friends on a Monday to celebrate a birthday. My friend has a gluten and dairy allergy, which was actually no problem here. So if that is a dietary concern for you or a loved one - this is a great spot to bring them! We were all able to enjoy a majority of the food. My partner and I both enjoyed a mocktail version of the roselle freezy - it was amazing! Either as a mocktail or a cocktail, you should try this drink. For starters, we had the crispy chicken wings, spring rolls with veggies, and the lettuce wraps. We all enjoyed the chicken wings so much that we got a second order of them. I enjoyed the spring rolls much more than the lettuce wraps as they had more flavor to them. For dinner, we shared an order of the Manda Amphone's Curry and the chicken pad thai. I originally did not expect to be blown away by the pad thai - boy, was I wrong. This is hands down the best pad thai I have ever had. If you love pad thai, you need to try theirs. I also thoroughly enjoyed the curry. Both dishes were rich and flavorful and came with enough to share between 4 adults. Overall, not having been to Bida Manda in 10+ years, I was impressed and will definitely return.

I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if you are unable to find parking nearby. Walking into the restaurant you'll be transported to a modern brewery, bookstore, and flower shop. It feels chic, Belgian inspired, and upscale. To start I ordered a Vase IPA which was excellent. I then switched to cocktails and ordered the Black Sesame Old Fashioned (bourbon, black sesame, black walnut bitters), the Dionysus (pinot noir, raspberry lemon shrub, chambord, amaretto, lemon, rhubarb bitters), and an aviation (hendricks, luxardo, creme de violette, lemon). By far the Black Sesame Old Fashioned was my favorite and what a nice touch with cracker on top of the dish. For food we ordered the Gai Lan (Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce), the Peking Duck (Whole, barbecued, free-range duck served with steamed bao buns, cucumber, scallions, and hoisin-honey sauce), Sweet Soy Chicken (Scallions, bell peppers, and caramelized in our ginger soy sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Lo Mein Noodles (Stir-fried noodles with julienned shiitake mushrooms, choy sum greens, soy sauce, and shrimp), seafood dumplings (Lobster, shrimp, and scallop dumplings served in garlic and black mushroom sauce with fried Youtiao doughnuts), Chicken Curry Bao (Steamed buns filled with spicy yellow chicken and vegetable curry), the Beef with Longhorn Peopers (Sautéed beef, ginger, and longhorn peppers with Shaoxing wine sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Xiao Long Bao (Steamed crab and ground pork soup dumplings), Nasi Goreng Crab Fried Rice (Traditional Indonesian Chinese fried rice with blue crab meat, Nam Pla fish sauce, house made Nasi Goreng sauce, served in an egg crêpe), and the General Tso's Chicken (Crunchy, sweet, and tangy, Bhavana's General Tso comes with your choice of chicken or tofu tossed in our house-made General sauce and topped with sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice). By far our favorite food items were the seafood dumplings (excellent flavor, Chinese donuts were so good, along with the flavor from the broth), and the shrimp lo mein noodles (cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfectly distributed). Definitely check out brewery bhavana if you are looking for excellent Chinese food in the Raleigh area. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Well, I finally got to try Brewery Bhavana and it was indeed incredible. Definitely worth the hype. We met my coworker and her partner here for dinner, and I was grateful we had a reservation because this spot was poppin' on a Monday night! The dining room is huge, but the decor breaks things up a bit and makes your meal feel intimate. Everything is shareable, so I highly recommend visiting with fellow foodies who want to try a little bit of everything. Honestly the entire menu sounded amazing, and it was hard to choose! Thankfully our servers provided some excellent recommendations. The Pork Bao was probably my favorite bite of the night, and may very well have been the best Bao I've ever had. The Lap Cheung Fried Rice was also delicious, and I'm usually not a fried rice person! Also worth mentioning is the Lo Mein, which we ordered with chicken. We didn't stay for dessert, but all of their sweet offerings sounded incredible as well. I did try one of the beers they brew on-site, the Sow. It was light and sippable, and I appreciate their diverse beer and cocktail offerings. I can't wait to visit Raleigh again because this will be my first stop!
