Wow! That was magical. It was freeing and relaxing. Not only my body tension was released, some of my intense emotions got released and he held me for a long time until I calmed down. I recently rec'd a 45/45 treatment - that's 45 min of Watsu and 45 min of Thai Yoga Massage from Brian. WOW!!!!!!! This is the first time in two months that I have been able to fully turn my head without restriction in my neck. The muscle pain in the back of my legs from working out in the gym literally disappeared and I was able to squat freely. Brian's space is elegant and healing, the pool greets you when you walk in the door, softly bubbling away to soothe away your aches and pains. Although this is a live/work, the two actually don't cross over in terms of the space. I felt like I had come to a mini spa oasis! Brian's Thai Yoga is a boon to athletes, dancers, and yogis. The full range of movement style works deep into muscles and joints in an active integration instead of a passive muscle manipulation. It is still very relaxing and therapeutic. I also had a stiff shoulder problem and during his work on it, it shifted way beyond the range I was achieving on my own. Brian is a professional and his space and his attention and skills demonstrate it with depth and authenticity. There are a lot of massage therapists in the Bay area, start your search with the best. I just had a 90 minute Thai fusion massage from Brian today... DAMN!! What an awesome, blissful 90 minutes it was. Brian has got great hands - they are clearly hardwired to his heart. Aaaaah. My body walked in tense and stiff and out definitely lighter and more relaxed after a 1/2 marathon. You must be prepared for the intimacy (closeness) in the water, to let your body go and fully relax and of course get your hair wet (we black girls!) but it's well worth it. I just received Brian's aquatic-based bodywork, and it was one of the finest healing highlights of the year for me. After welcoming me into his studio, which is absolutely beautiful with soaring ceilings, soothing music, and inviting decor, I was slipped into his 3,000 gallon pool for an hour session. His technique resembles a mixture of shiatsu and Thai massage with long, deep stretches suspended at the surface of the pool and gentle flowing movements accompanied by deep breath work. I went to Brian for some restorative work on my upper spine after compressing my during an aggressive session of inverted poses. I left feeling deeply rested, relaxed, and restored. I cannot lay enough praise on Brian's skill as a bodywork practitioner. His experience, and the creativity inherent in being versed in so many types of body manipulation, is clear in his smooth, gentle movements and his ability to work into particularly tense muscles. Importantly, Brian is also skilled at immediately creating ease. His attention to detail--taking time before the session to acknowledge that vocalizations are welcome, that he will work with stretches or other movement you might feel inspired to take during the session--allows you to truly disconnect, let go, and feel for an hour. No thinking is required because he's already thought of everything! This creates space to sink into body and feeling and let go of thoughts. The apartment itself is peaceful and beautiful, the water in the pool feels perfect, the mats for Thai bodywork are impossibly soothing. I left feeling space in my back and shoulder blades that hasn't been there for months, and with my jaw significantly more relaxed. If you have any hesitation, I enthusiastically recommend you override it and dive in for a session! It was a couple of the most peaceful, relaxed two hours of my past month, and I'm grateful to have had a chance to receive this body work. read more

I had a two hour Watsu/Thai Massage with Brian today. It was incredible. I can't recommend this experience enough. From the moment I walked into the loft I felt at ease in this beautiful environment. It smells fantastic and the decor is super relaxing. The pool is clean and warm. You can tell Brian is natural healer. He sits with you and discusses what is on your mind, he has great communication and it's like he can read your body perfectly. I had such a transcending experience while in the water.
