I have updated this review as it's been awhile since my first one; but everything here is still very high quality, cooked with with care and delivered with sincerity and kindness. ThaiBinh's totally vegan menu looks delicious. Every item has a photo and although I only have appetizer photos, our entrees were just as tasty looking. My favorite edible, though, was the battered and fried eggplant half moons with garlic and green onion ($8). The creamy interior in juxtaposition to the crunchy exterior was dynamite! I could order that again and again. Equally pleasing was the crunchy rice paper wrapped Spring Roll ($8). I'm sure the protein choice makes a little difference from roll to roll. We had the vegan chick'n. It was a good flavor component. We noticed that there are a number of new items (for us). I ordered the spaghetti noodles in garlic sauce with cilantro and I picked Oyster Mushroom as my protein ($16). In retrospect, this is a dish I would take home and add more veggies to. Which is what I did do with the leftover. The portion is generous and delicious; it's just a lot of pasta to mushroom. My husband ordered a side of broccoli ($8) and somehow he also ordered this enormous mound of seasoned brown rice with it. It was too much even for two people. We took most of that home as well. And still, exactly as I remember him, Chef/Owner ThaiBinh Ho is friendly and unassuming. He actually remembered me from the first time I wrote a review and asked permission to take his photo. His food reflects his spiritual philosophy and his joy in sharing it with customers at the Desoto Marketplace. There's oodles of parking here with food trucks outside and the food kiosks inside. There are two areas with tables and chairs if you want to dine in and there's picnic tables outside. Since there are other non-restaurant businesses here, too, you can browse while you wait. Restrooms are in the back. There's even a playground if you have small children. Hours are weekday only, Tuesday through Friday with a break in the afternoon. read more

Personally, I returned for another delicious garlic noodle with vegan chickin and oyster mushrooms sautéed in chef's delicious special garlic sauce, prepared with spaghetti noodles, finished with a heavy sprinkle of green onions and cilantro. I did enjoy the spring rolls with peanut sauce. I believe the Fresh basil sets this spring roll and noodle dishes apart. If you have no date plans, give the Thai garlic noodle dish a try. Yes, medium spice is my preference. I will return yet again for the garlic fries and vegan chikin garlic Thai noodles. Perfectly prepared to order! fresh and noodles were cooked al dente. I got to the Marketplace told them I was there for my order after my hour was up only to wait maybe an hour 20 min total from the time I called in my order. I had been there in the past for the Pho but after seeing #MrChimeTime sample #ThaiBinh food I wanted more. I got the Egg Rolls, Garlic Noodles, and Spring Rolls. YA'll ChimeTime was point on! This place is one of my top 5 restaurants in DFW (including non-vegan spots) and it's crazy how underrated this place is. I've been trying to eat more plant based, and have hit up most of the popular vegan spots in DFW and this is by far my favorite. Their vegan pho and garlic noodles are AMAZING. Let me tell you something, I'm not vegan at all but THAIBINH'S has me questioning that. My sisters and I came to GROW Desoto Marketplace to shop and weren't planning to eat but it smelled SO good we had to check it out. The owner is the chef and he was BEYOND gracious. He brought our dishes to the table! The food was to die for! We had the peaceful wings, trulyen wings, fired eggplant, garlic fries, garlic broccoli, rice, and they shared a pineapple lemonade. Absolutely delicious! The people are so kind and answered all of our questions. We tried the signature Fried Garlic Eggplant and the Angel Wings (bell peppers). I got them medium spicy and that was *chef's kiss* I also ordered the curried noodles with tofu and those were phenomenal. The portion sizes are so generous! We had the spring rolls --generously sized (peanut sauce was a little thick). I also had curry - very delicious and slightly spicy (not too hot but you have a spicier option.) The fried bananas were sooo delicious and very sweet- perfect finish to the meal with fresh coconut ice cream (dairy free!) Seating is a communal simple dining area at the restaurant area entrance. A small gem here in DeSoto. I went there with my friend after work and we wanted Thai food. But, didn't want to drive to dallas to eat. When we looked up ThaiBinh's it was 10 minutes away. If you've never been here it's inside of this plaza so you won't see a sign when you're driving by. Inside the plaza are all these small business. Some that sell seamoss, clothes, fragrances and whole lot of other neat things. We were pleasantly surprised because we didn't expect any of it. ThaiBinhs is delicious we got the basil fried rice and this curry fried rice with a smoothie. And Mann it was so good. We sat down and we were serenaded with local music from this saxophone player. Overall, it's a cool vibe and it opens up at 5pm so if it want somewhere chill to relax and eat good food I definitely recommend the area. read more

I was nearby for another reason and had heard about vegan options at the Grow Desoto Marketplace. ThaiBanh was one of the top options, so I decided to order my meal for takeout. The website was pretty easy to navigate, although the items on the ordering site didn't have descriptions and not everything available to order were listed on the restaurant site, so I played it safe. I ordered the egg rolls and teriyaki rice plate. Now, they charge a "convenience fee" for placing an order online and it fluctuated depending on total price, so it was around 4-5% of my total price. I hate things like that; just make your prices cover silly "fees." Also, when selecting the spice level of my teriyaki rice bowl, I was charged $1 for selecting any spice at all! I have never, ever seen a restaurant that has spice levels charge for picking another besides "no spice." The order said it would be 30 minutes to pickup, so I killed some time before heading over. It's just inside the marketplace, to the right. They had just finished tying my bag when I arrived, so it looks like the time estimation was accurate. It does bother me when vegan restaurants, that usually are a little more earth friendly, don't use environmentally sound to go packaging. I would've rather had my "convenience fee" go towards recyclable containers. When I got home, I was glad to see they cut a hole in the egg roll package to prevent steam making the egg rolls soggy. The food was okay. Both the bowl and the egg rolls were served with some sort of soy based sauce. I have always gotten sweet and sour sauce with egg rolls before and I realize how much that balances the vegetables and spices in egg rolls. I didn't finish them. As for the teriyaki bowl, even little spicy (level 1) was very spicy to me! Also, despite it not being listed in the ingredients or showing in the picture, it was served with bell peppers and onions. I really, really hate bell peppers, so that was disappointing. The spice also drowned out the teriyaki sauce flavor, so it was just okay. I ate the veggies and fake chicken, but the rice was pretty soggy, so I avoided it. All around, this place could be good. But I'm not sure if I would try it again soon. read more

This place is fantastic! I can't believe we found this gem near us. I love thai food and have to settle for some while at work but now with this find I am set. How is it i did not know about this place? So fyi I ordered the following; Ck spring rolls - hands down the best I have ever had. Garlic wings - I love garlic and these wings are just delicious and crunchy in a good yummy way Ck basil fried rice - the flavors on this rice take you on a ride to flavor town and leave you there screaming for more. Spicy lemongrass ck - it is spicy people so be careful but is so darn good I would eat it every day. I sent my daughter to pick up the order and she had trouble finding the place so next time I come I will try to fix the pin on here. But she says is inside a market and you pick up food via a small window. Anyway she came home and tried all the food before me and said is freaking good. So I plan to try their entire menu pronto. They have a tiny kitchen but are able to put out this amazing dishes that put me to shame in a good way. I mean here I am asking to remodel my kitchen and make it bigger so I can cook better. This may be the best vegan Vietnamese and Thai restaurant I've ever been to. I ordered the spring rolls with tofu, curry with chick'n, and Thai tea with coconut milk. The spring rolls were amazing. Two spring rolls were given per order. The tofu was super crispy and flavorful and balanced out with the softness of the rice paper and vermicelli noodle. They took it one step beyond had fried rice paper (I think?) in the spring roll to give it a nice crunch. The spring rolls were also huge, about the length of my palm to fingertip, like some would be full just off the spring rolls or they can be eaten as a meal alone. The curry was also spectacular. The chick'n was still crunchy and flavorful. They also had a lot of veggies in the curry - egg plant, potato, bell pepper, and I don't remember what else. The spices they used and flavor for the curry was off the charts. I got spicy (not Thai spicy) and it was a good level. I could probably handle more spice but didn't want to mace myself. Portions were good too. Lastly, the Thai tea was great. It tastes like it should and the coconut milk (instead of your traditional condensed milk) worked out well. I'm not a vegan or anything but this spot is top tier Thai / Vietnamese food spot period, vegan or not. I've only been there once but will be going back to try everything else in their menu. Note: It is located in the Desoto Market, directly right of the entrance, so it is pretty convenient especially since you can walk around the shops when waiting for your food. read more

OMG! Excellent! I highly recommend. If you like spicy vegan you will love this spot. I got the Peaceful Wings, Peaceful Pho, Garlic Noodles Spicy and Ginger Lemonade (and no I didn't eat all of it at once but live in Mansfield and been trying to get to this place after work for a while) and it was amazingly delicious. **BEST VEGAN FOODSPOT HANDS DOWN!** They use agave instead of sugar, no MSG, and the whole menu is completely vegan! There are also gluten-free options/substitutes. My partner and I are vegan and have been looking for a delicious vegan Asian foodplace to go to near us. He also cannot have gluten but there were plenty of substitutes for him! I cannot have MSG despite being Asian (lol) so this place is perfect for me. Also been on a no table sugar diet so I love that this place uses agave instead. This place ticks all the boxes for me. The food was perfectly SEASONED and delicious. Not greasy, but VERY flavorful compared to other vegan places I've been to. Portions are good too. The prices are a little high, but given the spot is in a hidden area and how clean the ingredients are and how everything is made as its ordered, I say it's 100% worth it because the chef/owner really puts in the effort -- so support this business y'all. There are only 1-2 people working there at a time from what I've seen so order ahead of time, or order and walk around and shop while waiting for your food! The service is wonderful. Heads up- In July, the owner decided to transition the menu to completely vegan. I am very disappointed as I loved the chicken dishes - both the chicken basil fried rice, the chicken wings, and the chicken pasta - 5/5 (Very, very good) But today, ordering on the new vegan menu, I got mushroom basil fried rice and fried cauliflower. It was really good, but I question if it was worth the cost. The food is pretty much on the high end for Thai food in my opinion. And now with no meat, I'm not sure if it is worth it anymore. The quantity of mushroom, which was $3 extra, was very small. I expected more in my order. Especially to be a protein replacement. And as it relates to the fried cauliflower, it was really good, but a tad too greasy. I should have put a paper towel on it before eating it.
