The drive thru wait is SO long. We were only the 3rd car in line but had to wait about 25 minutes to order. We ordered 2 Chinese entrees and I asked the women at the window if it came with egg rolls. She said each come with fried rice and an egg roll. When we got back to our hotel there were no egg rolls. We hadn't eaten all day and it was almost 7:30pm last Saturday when we stopped by. I was SO hungry and the food was SO good. It was hot and fresh. I wish I had the egg rolls, though. Also, they charge for tap water. Okay, so coming to this place was a little bit out of the blue. A storm blew in out of nowhere, and being on the road, I stopped here till it died down. The food here was amazing and deserves five stars easily. I got sesame chicken, two scoops of fried rice, and a spring roll for $9.99, which is crazy for downtown Dallas. The service here was pretty good, but a little passive aggressive as well. The things that did really bother me were the drive thru wait and the exit of the drive thru, which is a bit awkward with the rest of traffic. Also, my fortune cookie was broken when I got it as well. All in all, I definitely recommend if you're in the area, but keep your expectations limited! read more

Does this place exist? My husband and I followed the map with GPS and found a convention center. The little indicator for the map is literally just a stop sign. Is it inside the convention center? The pictures suggest an outside location. We found a food court area right above the map location, but no Chicken n Things. 2011 Lamar St. is not the right location, or you guys need better directions on how to find it from the map indicator location. read more

The Staff was very happy and friendly, and I love that you can see the food being cooked and handled in front of you. I ordered the orange chicken combo which comes with fried rice and an egg roll. They have some of the best orange chicken I have tried so far, I seriously like it a lot. I love the sweetness, and how it's mixed with red and green bell peppers and onions. The picture on the menu shows it with white rice, I thought I had asked for white rice, however when I got home I realized I had "fried rice" (which I use the term loosely). Overall there was plenty of food for the price, however it lacked flavor. General Toas is usually spicy, and this didn't have any spice. The egg roll was "blah" in which I ended up spitting it out. I've lived in the Cedars for years - how did I not notice Chicken & Things? I love Chinese takeout and here's the perfect place on my back doorstep. The staff are super friendly and happy to make good suggestions and even gave me a couple of samples to help convince me. I had kang pao chicken and Mongolian beef, both were excellent, and the egg rolls come with everything and they're delicious! Oh and the fried chicken isn't fried chicken... I had a terrible experience at this small establishment. The staff were rude and unhelpful, possibly biased towards African Americans and the food was mediocre at best. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless you like horrible customer service and to be spoken to in any manner! FYI, unlike all other Chinese restaurants sweet and sour sauce will not come with egg rolls so you will have to request and pay for it with your order, otherwise it is 25 cents and you cannot pay for it with a debit card for that amount. Make sure you carry quarters in your pocket! As I was told by Erica "I don't have to tell you that we charge, did you ask me? I don't know what you want". If you like that type of rude demeanor when you spend your money then have it.
