I have made several attempts to get an updated prescription for a birth control pill. She prescribed me something that was "new" knowing my insurance wouldn't cover it and tried to tell me the work around to get it through a coupon, I got a three month supply. Turns out my insurance dosent cover it. Big surprise.... Now I am making calls between cvs and the OBGYN office to try and get an updated prescription before I run out of pills this week and I have been trying this entire month to get ahead of this issue. She commented to me that "I've been doing this for two decades" when I tried to explain to her that I recieved a letter about not being covered. For someone who has been doing this for so long, it feels that a patients time is not respected and things are not going through like they're supposed to I am continually told by the office staff that I need to call the pharmacy and the pharmacy will make an attempt to reach out to the provider. This place is a joke. I called Wednesday and left a message because they don't work on Wednesdays. They said they would call back the next following day that is bullshit. I called them back on Friday and asked for my paperwork that they said that they faxed to my IVF doctor. I did a mammogram with her in April 2025 and it is now January 2026. My doctor said they did not get the results. They said they faxed it to them in October 2025. But still yet they did not do so on their behalf. I called Friday and asked for a test results and I gave him five hours to give me a copy of it so I can physically give it to my IVF doctor. The girl receptionist said they can't do it that day, but they could do it on Monday but yet they did not call me on Monday to let me know it is available to pick up. And now it's Tuesday January 27th and I'm calling them like crazy over 12 times and they still did not pick up their phone. If you want real customer service who's going to be there for you from 9:30 AM to 5 PM like they said they would in their office hours do not ever come to this place ever again. I usually don't leave reviews but this was the worst doctors office I've ever been to. I told the doctor 10 times I wanted a copper IUD. She told me to come on the last day of my next period. I called them to tell them I had gotten my period, and then she said the last day would be too late. They then told me they could maybe fit me in but I would only know 2 hours before. I finally show up for my appointment and find out they had ordered the wrong IUD for me. They ordered a hormonal IUD, which I had told them 10 times I didn't want. Best Provider I have ever had ! MD Trinh was my OBGYN and delivered my baby. This is now my second high risk pregnancy and MD Trinh was by far better than any Kaiser doctor. She is attentive to detail and on top of her patients care. I always felt that she listened well to any concerns I had. Some people have complained of their appointments being moved. However, I consider that a great quality. This means she moves things around in order to be there for the time of your delivery. Some people, huh? If I may, allow me to encourage your disregard of the negative reviews here. In reading them over, I'm shocked by some people's sense of entitlement, their belief that everything revolves around them. I mean, life happens (quite literally, with respect to OBGYN offices): appointments have to be rescheduled sometimes; and cancellations, although unfortunate, are a reality. Nevertheless, at Dr. Trinh's, I am certain they are done so with prior notice; and if there's an urgent need, they're done so apologetically. You roll with it. Besides, those writing overwhelmingly negative reviews often lack credibility anyway. (Note their few numbers of reviews, photos, and check-ins. At times, that says something.) We, in fact, loved Dr. Trinh and her staff. Everyone there's not only personable and welcoming, but they're thorough and professional as well. I had Dr Trinh as my GYN Doctor but I no longer have her due to insurance change. Dr Trinh is very knowledgeable in what she does. She follows up with a problem I have. She personally calls me and explains to me what needs to be done. She doesn't push any medications on you unless they are absolutely necessary. A year after my last review, I finally have a reason to write again. After 17 years, I was in shock to discover that I was expecting another baby. Accepting the fact that I lost control over my freedom, again, my next challenge was to find an OBYN when I was already close to 3 months along. After calling a handful of doctors, Dr. Trinh was the only one who recognized the necessity to see me right away. I was seen the same day and had my tests within the week since I was about to pass my first trimester (crucial tests would have been missed otherwise). Dr. Trinh and her staff patiently explained the process to me (since it has been so long) and to my husband (first time parent). I loved her warm and humorous personality right away. Yes, there were times where she had to reschedule, but I was always notified with ample time. Plus, her job requires flexibility since she delivers unpredictable babies. She never canceled for a whimsical reason. My visits are what you would typically expect. What was different was my RECOVERY and her contribution to it. My first baby was painful (delivery and recovery). However, I found myself laughing with Dr. Trinh as I was pushing. I had minimal bleeding afterwards and healed quickly; the antithesis of my first experience. Dr. Trinh took many cautionary measures such as giving me multiple doses of antibiotics (that allowed me to go home early) and clearing out my uterus (less bleeding afterwards). Results will vary individually, but I was very pleased with her tender care. Perhaps it's because she is a woman and knows what moms go through. I am grateful that she delivered my baby girl and helped my husband transition into parenthood. She was cautious and constantly served as my baby's advocate. My mom already has an authorization and the lady answering the phone won't let her make an appointment saying that the family doctor has to call the office to verify the information. THAT IS YOUR JOB, lady! So frustrating. These front desk staff have no clue of how to assist patients during the process to see the doctor conveniently. I read the mixed reviews before coming here but after struggling to get an appointment anywhere else before my insurance expired was impossible. So I made an appointment and they couldn't give me a clear answer on the phone whether I'd have to pay anything or not but I came in anyway. First impression of arriving: am I in the right place? The front office looks old and like they don't really care to clean often. The receptionists had TONS of papers laying around, probably with Customer's information. I waited 30 mins to be seen even with an appointment. The back office was cluttered and lots of boxes were laying around on the floor. The bathroom looked nothing like a doctor's office. There were more boxes inside and a table set up with clients' urine samples in cups where I had to place mine as well. The doctor's room was small. Thankfully the doctor was nice and got me out of there quick. No complaints on the doctor herself but she does run the office? Maybe. They told me that if there was something wrong with my pap smear results they would call me within three weeks. If I didn't receive a call, I could call them to follow up in THREE WEEKS. A month passed, and out of curiosity I called to check in my results. The lady said she didn't have them with her and that she'd give me a call the day after...... A MONTH later and they didn't have my results. All of a sudden, the day after they had my results. They called and said "my results are normal" whatever that means.... The receptionist who picked up the phone told me that she didn't have the schedule book with her and that she would call me back with an available date after speaking with the scheduler. Before we hung up, she asked me what insurance I have. I told her "Monarch." Then she asked which of the Monarch insurances I have. When I told her 'Caloptima,' she all of a sudden said, "Sorry. we are overbooked FOR CALOPTIMA MONARCH. We cannot take any more patients from Caloptima Monarch." I said that's discrimination. She said that's a big word. I told her it is a big word, but that's exactly what they are doing. DISCRIMINATING. SEGREGATION in hospital care depending on SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS They are NOT doing probono work when they take my insurance, they get paid. I was surprised by the low rating dr. trinh has on Yelp! then again, I thought about it and realized, it's always the pissed off people that leave negative reviews. dr. trinh delivered both of my babies and she is amazing!! she knows her stuff, very informative and if there is any complications she will refer you to a specialist to make sure your baby is ok. I live 30 miles away and I drove to see her because she is that good! shes sweet, gets to the point, and tries to help you as much as possible. her staff is very nice. they try to get people in as quickly as possible but that can be challenging considering that patients have different needs. I hope that people realize that the wait time is due to the doctor taking the time to take care of her patients instead of rushing them out to see the next client. read more

Dr. Trinh is the best Gyno/Ob doctor in the area. She knows her stuff & have a great bedside/office manners, which makes our visits less uncomfortable & fly by. In the wee hours of the morning, Dr. Trinh rushes into the hospital for the deliveries of my children. She gets the jobs done, almost without a hitch. But not due to anything on her end, but my babies (big heads/breeched). Dr. Trinh is such a Pro that any situation doesn't faze her. The goals was to deliver those healthy babies & take care of the Mommy. Four babies have been delivered by Dr. Trinh in my extended family. If I was to have more, I want Dr. Trinh to be there to catch them babies when I pop them out! I have to mention that she hires the most outstanding office staff. Dr. Trinh is a great OB doctor, she delivered 3 of my kids. I've been with her more than 10 years and never have any problem. Someone complained about the wait and I think that's normal at any doctor office. I personally never have problems with that because i always had 1st appointment in the morning. To me, the doctor is the most important when come to your and your kids heath so I don't let other things stop me from going to see her. This is one of the best doctors I have met so far in Orange County. She is very caring, professional and knowledgable. I feel very relaxed and comfortable when I talks to her about my disease state. She takes time to answer each question clearly without rushing. She does not like others doctors just want to care about their business rather than your health. Very disappointing coming to this office. Let me disclose I am not a patient here, but I am a family member of the patient. This office is like a third world physician office. Let me explain why. First, there was no patient confidentiality. The staff was telling this lady at the counter that her pap was due during this visit, because her last pap was 4 years ago in August. She also told her she did not have the vaccine for gradesil which is for HPV and she could not get it due to her age. This was misinformed on the staff's behalf because the recommend age is up to 40. Second, the staff gave all patients a temp-a-dot to take their own temperature. She told them to put it in their mouth for one minute and read her the number. if they don't know how to read it take a picture. Ok first they were never told how to read the temp-a-dot so how are they suppose to know? Everyone was looking at each other wondering what they should do next. The staff just said it's fine if it is under a 100 your ok. I thought it was so funny. I'm an avid Yelp user but had never feel the need to leave a review for the places I've been to because most are accurate enough for others to go by. I remembered doing a Yelp search for Dr. Trinh and saw the others comment and pass on to search for a different OB. Before deciding to schedule an appointment with a different doctor, I spoke with a friend and ask for her recommendation. She immediately say Dr. Trinh. She went on and on about how great, knowledgeable and gentle Dr. Trinh is helping her through her first pregnancy and she's going back to see her for her second pregnancy. At the time I had some complication and needed to see an OB as soon as possible. I called to schedule an appointment and the front desk lady asked a few questions and she took me in the same day. Everything my friend said about Dr. Trinh is true! She's very gentle and tentative of my care. Unlike all the other doctors I've been to, she devote her time and answer all my questions before leaving the room. She called after hours to give test results. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who's looking for an easy and approachable doctor who you are not afraid to address concerns about women's health and trust to deliver a safe and healthy baby. To my surprise, a few months after my visits, I talked to another friend about my experience with Dr. Trinh and was told she was her OB when she had her first baby girl. I don't have any billing issues at this clinic. I appreciate the nurse who did the blood draw on me every week without bruising my arm. Every time I was referred out to get a blood draw I get traumatize because 8 out of 10 phlebotomist would bruised my arm. Ultrasound is done in-house as well and that's also a plus. The clinic is not state of the art but for the quality of care you get it's a great trade off. It's appropriate to say "Don't judge the book by it's cover". read more

After reading all bad reviews on Yelp, I was hesitate to pick Dr Mai as my OB doctor. I took the risk because I prefer female doctor and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the average wait time is 30-45 mins, not too bad comparing to all OB offices in OC. I figured out that if I come on time, they let me in quicker so I tried to be there 5-10 mins early. I'm so lucky that I've never had any problem with billing. I guess my insurance did a good job paying the doctor since some insurance companies took a long time to pay. And most important is the doctor herself, she was very gentle, caring and professional. She took her time to listen to my problem (most doctors meet with you for 5 mins after an hour waiting) and gave me the best solution. We were trying to have baby for 4 years but nothing happened. She asked me do several testings to figure out my problem and I was able to get pregnant without doing IVF. She walked me through the whole pregnancy and always there for me. My delivery was smooth thanks to her. I guess the most important I want in a doctor is caring about patient's health, not how her staffs in the front office work or how many stars she got on yelp. I'd definitely come back if we have another baby and recommend Dr Mai to everyone!!! read more

My sister got a call from the doctor said that she needs to see her right away so come in tomorrow at anytime. My sister is disabled, she can't drive. From the way the Dr talked to her, she was so scared, called me 2 Times in middle of night begging me to take her, I called in sick @ my work to take her. We came in and waited for an hour and half sitting there seeing people that come after us got called in, I asked the nurse why, she said because we don't have appointment. Are you kidding me? Like some of the other reviews I read, they only get one star because that's the lowest possible. The Dr. is a very kind woman, I have no complaints about her it's her staff that's horrible. I had an appointment set up for Friday the 12th. I already knew ahead of time that they would be closed the beginning of that week due to their new year. On Wednesday night the week before my app I had to go to the ER because I was bleeding heavily. They told me my baby was ok but that I needed to push up my doctor visit. When I called I told them what happened and that I needed to see the doctor maybe that day or the next. The woman had the audacity to ask me if I was sure I had gone to the ER and if I had the paperwork. They apparently were "too busy" but she would call me back to see if I could be fit in. I never got a call that day or the next. Apparently if they are going to have a holiday they don't care about patients that have an emergency and won't even bother to call you back. I hope no one has to go through what I did and still have to deal with this type of staff. read more

I came in with my wife and there were 6 other females before us that have not been help. One even complains why is it taking so long. The staff does not know what they are doing. Always asking people for their paperwork when they have it on file. They collect your money first and tells you to wait. Been here since 2:50 (when we have appointment at 3) It is now 3:45 and still did not see the doctor. There are three other women before us. Wasted over an hour just waiting, should have told us result wasn't ready so we don't have to wait or go to the appointment.
