beef hard shell tacos & chicken fajita
    Tina F.

Let me start off by saying that I am a mighty taco fan and that geography gets in the way of my ability to patronize them that often. So today I was driving through the bustling metropolis that is Batavia (sarcasm) running errands and suddenly a strong desire for tacos came over me. Now being an hour from the closest Mighty Taco, my options were Taco Bell (barf) and That Taco Place. I decided to give That Taco Place a try. I ordered two hard shell tacos and a chicken fajita, which came to ten dollars and change. Personally, I found the price to be a bit pricey considering the portion size and quality of the food. I tried one of the tacos first. My immediate thought was how stale the shell itself was. Also, the fact that they place way more lettuce than anything else in the taco, and use whole slices of tomato were negatives. The beef itself had little flavor. I think though, the biggest issue was the shell which was distracting me from any saving graces this taco had. I can say though that they put a decent amount of sour cream on them. The Chicken fajita was better, but not great. The quacamole was decent, and the peppers and onions were cooked well, but the shell was dry and bordering stale and the chicken was in such huge chunks that you either got all or nothing. I can definitely say that I would choose this place over taco bell anytime, but I can't say for sure that I would return. If anything it reminded me of what I am missing from mighty taco or how I could easily make something better at home.

Simple little taco/Mexican food place. Chili was pretty good. And husbands taco was decent. Friendly staff. Clean establishment. Good prices. Features drive thru for quick service and small inside/outside area for dining.

chips & cheese, tacos, quesadilla, poppers.

We got 3 chicken tacos, 2 Jarritos, 2 beef tacos, and the California burrito! Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned/cooked. The decorations and overall vibe of the restaurant almost feels like you're eating in a market! It truly is a lovely restaurant to sit down with family and eat at. I would recommend them 10 times over!

I was told they only do outdoors, with the truck. I need indoors for nursing home residents and staff (like trays of stuff for a buffet line or something). So unfortunately the truck doesn't really accommodate my needs. That's okay. Nobody can be everything to everybody, I get it. But I also ordered dinner, to go. I have a deep love for Mexican cuisine (more so authentic fast food and home cookin) that goes back as far as I can remember and I was eagerly anticipating THIS dinner. Now, I used to basically live on the California/Mexico border and ate in Mexico, in border towns and non-border towns. I've also cruised deep into Mexico. One of my mother's husbands was Mexican and so was one of mine. I've spent time in Mexican bush camps in southern Texas over a campfire cooking texmex with ranch hands, but I'm no foodie. I just have a little exposure and experience in this genre. So that really compels me to say that my dinner was less than impressive. Service was good for sure. The carnitas chimichanga I ordered was pure meat. On the side was some sour cream, guacamole (not enough of either) and plenty of shredded lettace underneath the condiments. The chips were good, but could've been warmer with more salt and salsa. I have to say that the food at this restaurant, while 'stylized' as Mexican, isn't really what you'd expect as Mexican (only marginally adjacent, I'm afraid). I truly didn't expect it to be authentic this far away from Mexico, but it really missed the mark. I saw tortillas, I saw stylized proteins and even salsa. I just didn't FEEEELLLL Mexico when I ate the food. The carnitas tasted like boiled shredded pork, I'm sorry to say. No spice, no heart, nothing Mexico about it.

I was told it was under new owners now. 6 of us arrived via 2 vehicles . They would not seat anyone until we all arrived. Even though the inside restaurant was empty. Many people , full parking lot were seated on the patio. We were told immediately before being seated that for a party of 6 that we needed to pay a gratuity of 18% and NO separate bills. NO PROBLEM, this is not unusual. The inside is nice and colorful. The waitress informed us that we needed to order fast since the kitchen would not accept orders after 8:20 pm and they were closing at 9 pm. I ordered a small bowl of Sopa de pollo and Sopes with pork. It was good but pork tasted a little off for me. Hubby ordered Rib eye dinner. He didn't like the rice. 2 people had Pollo Don Gollo and really liked it. ( chicken with pineapple) Another had Tia Lola's chicken & shrimp. She liked it. Everyone was satisfied with their dinners. Plates had ample food. Then, while we were eating, they came out of the kitchen with a bucket and mop and proceeded to mop the tile floor. The odor of pine sol was so strong, you could taste it while eating. We asked them to stop. The waitress kept apologizing for rushing us. When the bill came, I was charged $1.50 more for the soup than was stated on the menu. The waitress disappeared, never to be seen to correct it. The cashier was gone so we left the money on the table. The staff at this place was very serious about getting out of here by 9 pm.

Not to be confused with "Mexican Pradas", knock off handbags. Hidden in Albion, NY, this secret…read morespot has some of the very best tacos & sopes in the USA. Named after race-car driver Lorenzo Llamas. Luckily he doesn't use any of his infamous namesake "Llamas" as meat here. Gives new meaning to the query "como te llamas?" And to "alpaca lunch for you." Lorenzo's ex-wife is Shauna Sand, but she didn't teach him to make food this good. She looks like she's never had a taco in her life. Yet she does have a taco. It's well-publicized, everyone's seen it. But the point is, Lorenzo Llamas does not use Llamas to make his tacos. What to get: best authentic sopes & tacos this side of Steve Guttenberg's basement And: tortas are really good too Plus: real mexican sodas and coke with real sugar, plus free menudo on fridays Tips?: 5 types of salsa or more. Dark smoky red one is not always available but is the best. Yellow oily watery alcoholic one with big chunks of pepper in it is delicious. And: Amazing customer service. The teenage boy and young girl are absolutely adorable. The owners are great too. The female chefs are lovely, if very busy. They've served me at 8.57pm even though their food takes 15 min to make, and they close at 9! Fantastic. Warning: only open 3 days a week. Fri, Sat, Sun - late morning, until 9pm. Don't here too close to 9. If you do, then get it to go. If this were a high fashion taco outlet, it'd be Ralph Laurenzo's. Whereas if Mariska Hargitay owned it, it'd be Lorenzo & Order: Sope Victims Unit. But then we'd have problems, and I don't think we could solve 'um. The amazing smoky salsa does look like "bad blood" come to mention it. Not that I know much about blood. Unless I'm drinking it in the middle of the night while avoiding crosses. I can't believe this exists in WNY. Not only is it authentic, it's one of the most delicious taquerias in the country. It caters almost entirely to Mexicans. Several employees don't even speak English. It's part of a Latin grocery store filled with delights. But the true gems are the hot prepared foods coming out of the kitchen. They only make 3 things here, if you don't count the delicious, greasy Menudo they hand out free on Fridays. (1) Amazing tacos. (2) Even better Sopes. (3) Very good Tortas. While the tortas are fantastic and the bread is heavenly, I'd recommend skipping them, since (a) they cost $8, and (b) the $5 versions down the road in Medina (Monte Alban Truck) are even better and covered in Mexican white cheese. But if you do get a torta here, smother it in the smoky dark red salsa, and always ask for avocado on it. The food is from Chihuahua in NE Mexico, by the Texas border. The tacos are heaven. The sopes are better. They're similarly sized and priced (around $2 each or 5 for $7), but they're quite different. Tacos are floppy soft corn tortillas, 2-ply, loaded with bits of your meat of choice, plus onions and cilantro, then salsa, radish & lime on the side. Sopes are harder, thicker, greasier squidgy doughy chewy fried corn bases, like a mini pizza bases, topped with meat of choice as well as cream, cheese, onions, cilantro and whatever else. Similar to "picaditas". The sopes win, although both are perfect. Meat choices: Cabeza and Tripa - brain and intestines, nah. Lengua - tongue, nah, but my brother had it, loved it. Asada - bits of steak, delicious. Pollo - I usually skip chicken but the spiced, marinaded, smoky flavour here is amazing. Carnitas - really good stewed pork, give this one a try. Barbacoa - juicy, similar to Carnitas with beef. Worth a try. Pastor - star of the show. Dark, smoky, delicious marinaded pork. Asada, Pollo and Pastor are my faves. There's a reason Lorenzo's only makes 3 things, and why it's always packed. It's absolutely freaking delicious. Salsas: Green - hot, tastes a little of guac. Light Red - very hot, tastes of fire. Dark Red - hot, deep, dark, smoky and rich, by far the best one. Yellow - super hot, do not try it. Yellow with bits of peppers visible in it - hot, delicious, made with alcohol, the 2nd best. Try all 5 but be careful. They are so hot, they will burn your mouth out. Also you can get Jarritos soda (try Mandarina and Tamarindo) here. And Mexican Coke regular (1.85) and medio litro (2.50). All soda made with real cane sugar and you can really taste it. One of the best taquerias in the USA. You absolutely must get out here and try it. It makes no sense that Lorenzo's exists so close to Rochester and Buffalo - two cities with no authentic Mexican (except the home cooking of Buffalo's Valle - tacos and tortas are not the best items). Need affordable lease housing? Look for "low-rent-homes." Packet of mints just fell onto the floor? They're "low-mentos." Have an intimate knowledge of the former Fu-Gees singer? Then you know "Laurynsholes." And you know you'd better watch out. Some girls are only about that thing. But this is not that thing, nor any of those things. This is Lorenzo's.

I came here with some family who were visiting from out of town. We wanted somewhere that everyone could eat at since we have omnis, GFs, and vegans. Love that there were options for everyone. However, my partner and I ordered the guacamole azteca which came out with cheese clearly on it and mixed in. I asked the server immediately if it was cheese and he said no, they would never put cheese in it. I had my doubts but thought perhaps it could be finely minced garlic. So we started eating. About halfway through we hit a pocket of unmixed cheese and I stopped eating. Asked the server a second time who denied it was cheese. He claims he also asked in the kitchen and they assured him it wasn't cheese. Well, it was- I got sick that night. My vegan dinner was small- no rice or beans. Just two sad little enchiladas with very little filling. There was a pile of iceburg lettuce next to them with a small scoop of pico. But all in all, the meal is NOT worth the price. The vegan options were the same price or more than the meat options, but came out with half the food on the plate. I felt this meal deserved only 1 star, but the fact that there were vegan options on the menu bumped it up to 2 stars. I will not be going back, I would much rather eat elsewhere in a more quiet atmosphere where the servers and kitchen staff KNOW what they put dairy in.

You can't be in Margaritas and not smile at least once. The spirit in there is infectious. On this particular date, we got to catch some of the Sabres game, which was a treat and celebrate St. Patrick's weekend drinking margaritas. I got a flight, as always. I'm usually not a frozen marg girl, but when at Margaritas...plus on one flavor you always get a mini rubber duck and they are adorable and you can take it home with you. I like adding it to my collection in my Jeep. The standout marg was the watermelon. It wasn't too sweet. Prickly pear and dragon fruit were a little too sweet for me. Because I was hungry, but not hungry enough, I went with two side orders. I got a tostada and a taco. They were fine. My husband got a burrito and finished his meal. If you like a little excitement and party in your life, I highly recommend this place. Employees are friendly.
