I had never eaten a turkey burger before. My husband, well back then he was my boyfriend, ordered the turkey burger. I frowned at him, confused by his choice of a " BURGER ".... A burger is ground beef not a turkey, I thought. So he insisted I try it and he wouldn't stop insisting!!! Lol. Finally, I did and I was hooked. It was the juiciest most flavorful burger I've ever had and it was TURKEY meat. I was so shocked. I expected it to be bland, like eating hospital food or something worst. OMG, I began ordering my own burger at least twice a week.... They were on 71st street back then. I've been craving their Turkey burger for years. I haven't been able to get to them, and I heard they relocated. Tried different places since then but they just don't measure up. My family still eats there and they all say that they haven't lost their skills. I would give them 10 stars if I could and I hope one day, I can get back to THATS A BURGER!!!! This is now my go to burger spot! When I took the first bite I literally thought now, "THAT'S a BURGER!" It lived up to the name in every way. I had the Turkey burger with cheddar cheese. I can't wait to go back and try some other options. I didn't think I would finish my meal because it was a nice sized burger and came with fries. I ate every single bite, wishing I'd had ordered another or at least an additional side. They need a tip jar for sure and I will make sure to leave one regardless on my next visit. I finally made it to "That's A Burger" today, I left off one star because I attempted to call in my order and the line was busy everytime I called. So, I had to wait the 30 mins like everyone else. I ordered a Turkey burger with pepperjack cheese and mayo, no mustard. I could not wait to get home and try the infamous turkey burger...I make good burgers at home and this one was just as good. It had grilled onions that were sweet and delicious. The lettuce got hot and kind of melted into the burger but it was still very good! The fries were homemade= amazing! I've tried to eat here 3 times and they are always closed. Tried to order by phone 30 minutes before closing and got no answer. Look, I've been supportive of this business since they were on 71st Street. I really like their turkey burgers. Their food has a real fresh wholesomeness about it you can't find in traditional fast-food joints. But I just can't deal with the process, how l-o-n-g it takes them to cook 2 turkey burgers. Now, I know it takes time to prepare. I'm not trying to catch a case of botulism over some subpar undercooked food. I get it. Knowing it takes them anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to serve an average order, l tried to work with the system by calling ahead to place my order, like so many other fast food restaurants are now doing with an online app or call in ordering. But what I got was an automatic answering machine explaining why nobody could or would answer the phone. Well what is one supposed to do? I'm already in route. Exactly. Proceed on down to Wendy's drive-thru, grab some substitute meal on the fly, and boogie. This is a real tasty spot . Their burger patty's are super thick with high quality meat. They have various cheese options (I went with pepper-jack) and they are very accommodating in terms of what you'd like on it (I like a tomato on mine and they had that for a measly 20 cent up charge). The cheese was melted perfectly and a double was enough for two. The fries were also really good (just the right amount of salt and crispness without being overdone). This is one of my favorite burgers in the city of Chicago. They have never failed me on the quality of food. However it's like pulling teeth to actually get a meal from them. They're sign on they're door says they're closed Sunday and Monday, but yet today is Tuesday at 5:30 and they're closed. You can never actually call a head to order because the phone is ALWAYS busy. When you place your order in the restaurant you can see the cashier taking the phone off the hook. Also they say you can't call in after a certain time and you can't walk in to order after certain time. I drove all the way from calumet city for a burger from them just for them to be closed. Recently had a turkey burger from here and I thought it was delicious!! It was seasoned perfectly and most importantly it was hot. It comes well-dressed with lettuce, onion (grilled or raw), ketchup, mustard, mayo,tomato (if you ask), and pickles. Cheese is extra. The French fries are fresh-cut, and delicious! I ask for them to make mine crispy, and it usually turns out well. Everything is made to order, so to circumvent the 25-40 minute wait, call ahead. See? Disaster avoided. I have been a customer since there were located on 71st street. In my past review, I spoke about improving their signage so that they can attract more customers. I don't know if they read my review but this is a better location. The turkey burgers are excellent. The burgers are moist, juicy, and delicious! I ordered the double turkey burger with fries. My only complaint is the long wait for the orders. I know that quality takes time. So be prepared to wait 30 minutes. It will be worth it. PS. Parking is an issue. My advice is to park on the side street so that you can get out quicker. read more
