Bar inside a grocery store is awesome! They have happy hour and a full menu but you can buy food from the store and eat it in the bar area. They also have big screen tvs so it's perfect for game nights. As for food they have different specials throughout the week and they have happy hour from 4 to 6 pm. We got the tacos and pitcher of orange wheat. The taco platter special on tuesday is good for two people. The taco tortillas were too greasy so we had to pat down the excess oil with tissues. The service is decent and the prices are fair.

Awesome new bar at Whole Foods. They used to have a impromptu bar in the back of the store, but now they built a real bar in front of the store. We stopped for happy hour, which is from 4-6 on weekdays. $5 specials on beer and wine. They also have daily specials. We tried the taco Tuesday special. It comes with a platter for 6 tacos and a pitcher of beer. It was a pretty good deal. My only complaint was that the taco tortillas came out way too greasy! They need to do something about that. But overall it's a good addition and I'll definitely be coming back.

WFM taking another crack a in-market fast casual I suppose WFM El Segundo is looking to duplicate the success of the Playa Vista location, which may or may not be the first restaurant inside a WFM. Just opening less than a week ago, and being under construction for many months, I would say that this effort is closer to a Gastro Pub with high end pub grub, draft beer, and select bottles of vino. The interior is a very modern and woody (reclaimed barn I presume) like every other new restaurant this side of 405 with some tables and two large communal raised tables and a long bar. As the restaurant is at the front of the store it is very bright and there is a connected patio. The 2nd can be accessed immediately to the right of the right hand entry of WFM. I guess on the left if you are looking outside from within. As mentioned before, the 2nd is a fast casual concept. There are food and beer menus since all of the draft beers, like 30 or more, need their own menu-shame shame WFM for wasting all of that paper. There is a counter with a big sign saying "order here" immediately to the left as you walk in. In addition to burgers, sandwiches, and small plates, they have a daily special like taco Tuesday for two with a pitcher of beer for $19 or Market Fish Fridays $12, which all are surprisingly affordable, I guess since they don't have to pay rent! I opted for the fish n chips since I felt like going back to work lethargic. After placing my order and paying they handed me a number on a metal stand and off to the communal table I went. I noticed there were people sitting at the restaurant communal table that had "pay by-the-pound" food with their brown containers nearby. I was thinking I am dining with silverware, I do not want this plastic fork wielding riff-raff anywhere near me. The tables behind me were people just hanging out to keep out of the heat. I think this will be a problem if the 2nd gets popular. I don't care, I can be a jerk when it comes to the table I am entitled to sit at! Since I was one of the few people in the restaurant who ordered off the menu my food came out pretty quick. The fish n chips are made with wild caught sustainable Alaskan cod fish like fish n chips should be made (not with salmon or talapia) and are in small chicken tender size pieces. It is served with a house made tartar sauce, but I prefer the stuff out of a 1 gallon tub. I dipped a piece of fish in the tartar sauce, took a bite, and burned the roof of my mouth! Aye! The fish was perfectly seasoned, the batter was crispy and tasty, and I will go out on a limb and say the 2nd fish n chips are the best in the South Bay. The one thing was that the chips were American style french fries and not proper chips, but they use a really good seasoned salt and were hot starchy goodness anyway. If you are at WFM and want an alternative to the other restaurants next door or at the point check this place out. I am already to come by Friday after work for the fish special and glass of chablis.

Not really what I expected. The Nashville chicken wings were ok, a bit oily/greasy for my taste and they forgot blue cheese instead of ranch (just a knit of mine). The pretzel with beer cheese and "spicy mustard" were okay! Cheese is a bit liquids for my stats and mustard is just slightly brown mustard. Beers here are always great! Can't complain there. Came through for happy hour with me, the Mrs., and two friends and we basically made it our mission…read moreto run the entire happy hour menu top to bottom... and I'm telling you right now: it didn't miss once. Every round that hit the table was a "pass it around, everybody try this" moment. The kind of happy hour where you're not just snacking -- you're accidentally having a full-on dinner because you can't stop ordering "one more thing." Food: Legit. Everything we tried was solid, but the wings were the standout for me -- the kind you keep reaching for even when you tell yourself you're good. Great flavor, cooked right, and they held their own against any wing spot that claims they're "known for wings." Whatever they're doing back there, keep doing that. Service / experience: This is where they really won. Trent was our guy tonight and I can't say enough about him. Manager supreme is the right title -- he wasn't just checking boxes, he was running the whole experience. He served, suggested, kept the pacing perfect, and made it feel effortless while still being locked in the entire time. You can tell when someone actually cares that your night is going well, and Trent is that dude. Major asset to this business and the kind of manager that turns first-time visits into "we're coming back next week." Atmosphere was exactly what you want for Manhattan Beach happy hour: lively, comfortable, easy to settle in, and perfect for a group. We came to try the menu and ended up staying for the vibe. Only complaint -- and it's not even on them, it's on the "beach cities trying to save the world one soggy sip at a time" vibe -- the paper straws. I swear those things last 11 minutes before they turn into a wet napkin. Let me live, Rockerfellas Bottom line: If you want a happy hour that actually delivers, Rockerfellas is it. Bring friends, come hungry, and if you get Trent taking care of you? You're in elite hands. We'll be back.

If I can tack on a 1/2 star or 1/2 point above, I would. And the only reason WHY I am not giving a…read morefull 5-star rating is because of The Rockefeller's cockamamie rule of "yes, we're dog friendly" but "you can't have your dog or your party block the sidewalk" and "we're not allowed to have the chairs out to here (indicating a particular distance on the sidewalk)", etcetera, etcetera. GIve me a break. JUST SAY that The Rockefeller isn't dog-friendly and be done with it, ok? By the way, this incident WAS on Mother's Day 2026, so the staff was particularly overwhelmed. . . so there's that timing. On a previous time my husband and I had brunch here about 4-5 months ago, we DID take our little doggie without any issue. So the staff either has to get their stories straight for next time or just say that The Rockefeller IS dog-friendly, BUT ONLY for a two- or one-person party. Other than that, The Rockefeller's Chilaquiles are phenomenal. It was flavorful and filling. Also, the Bacon & Eggs (two eggs, any style) -- which I had my eggs over-easy -- were outstanding. Bottom-line: Don't bring your dog. It's just too complicated for The Rockefeller to handle. Leave your dog at home.

Plus, Emily Gilmore implied that it was…read morenitwit juice and Buffy devolved to a Cave person after drinking enchanted beer so these quasi-after-school specials taught me that heathens and their kin drink beer. Of course, I kid, beer can be a wonderful thing, I just rather do cocktails and shots. So I went to Sugar Monkey Brewing because of a different pull: a power point slide show where friends pitch their single friends to strangers for a chance at love or romp. So I went in not knowing much of Sugar Monkey Brewing and I left with clear understanding that this place is an industrial beer oasis near the beach. The contrast of sand and blue on the horizon and the present aluminum lining made me feel like I was seeing a new uncommon mixture that proved that clashing environments can gel to delight. I found parking easily. It was a Saturday early evening, and about a 5 minute walk was where I discovered my spot. I honestly hated that I had to walk those 5 minutes but the walk uplifted my spirits for the weather was California crisp and the air and sky and atmosphere felt safe and proper. I wondered if i had the right place? The streets looked like too industrial. Like I had gone to one of those places that had a lot of factories in rows, but not much else. But I turned a corner and there was Sugar Monkey. Then I realized that a brewery would probably look like a beer factory so this place, with all its steel and pumps, had found its home amongst beach skies. As I walked back to my car, later that evening, I was in slight awe at the pale light blue and orange sky. It was serene, and vast and somehow beach appropriate. The water tower iin a picture I took was a nice touch as it reminded me of the Animaniacs, especially Wakko and Dot. I arrived after the first presentation was on its way. I started to listen intently to understand the dynamics because this all seemed so weird yet plausible. Like a dating auction turned fun not hokey or corny? The person was hyping up her friend J. Apparently, he spoke many languages, and hiked and did all these other stuff that were meant to induce attractions. Then she asked, What can he do? And she then explained how she was going to make a joke and that no one needed to fear going to hell if they laughed. And she then reveal that the thing he can't do is SEE because he was blind. The joke was in good taste. The joke, at least to me, carried disability pride. She had revealed that he was different because his sight was different to a crowd of would be judges and suitors. The strength of the duo was refreshing, dare I say, more than the beach breeze. Being witness to this moment made me feel like I had seen a beautiful moment and one I never imagine I would see. And for this reason alone, my trip to Sugar Monkey was more than fun, it was heart-opening. The place itself is cool. Their outside was a huge garden like setting. The place had pool, however, the patio is crowded so I am not sure how people can play if too many people are there. Another thing I saw- that is a credit to this place- is that it had a wheelchair elevator. So if someone was chilling in the patio and wanted to chill in their wooded floor area- where the bar was they could use the wheelchair lift, if they could not use their legs. The place had also had kind of like an off-beat personality. It had a British phone, an astronaut that seemed to have hit a space that painted him with grafitti flare, and beers with names like green means go. I think I would go to this place again, for the beer and the air and to Karaoke. I loved this place and the activity it hosted!

We live local and go often but have slowly started just going to other breweries in the area given consistently poor service/rude servers here. I think there is really high potential here but they just swing and miss.
