Historic bar located in downtown El Segundo. We happened upon this bar on a Saturday afternoon. We were greeted by the very friendly bar, staff and owner. The bar owner came over to our group and spoke to us for a while. She told us the bar originally opened in 1924 and has gone through several owners and renovations. She stated they restored the bar back to some if it's original glory. The restaurant had a good selection of drinks as well as non-alcoholic options. They also serve barbecue. There is indoor seating and a very large patio in the back. We also met the chef who is also a comedian and hosts comedy nights there. read more

Fantastic little BBQ spot in a little corner of Richmond street. If we hadn't heard about it, we would never have known it was there. My go-to is the brisket. It is gorgeously tender and smokey perfectly paired with one of their bbq sauces and a cold beer. Service is fantastic. We were waited on by several different people so it really felt like a family style operation. Several sports games were on the big screens with sound coming out of speakers located around the edges of the seating area. Would definitely come back! read more

Went on a Saturday around Noon, there were a few groups at the back patio. Most beer is on tap, only a few bottled choices. We wanted to try all the meat so we orderd two 3-meat combo. It was easy for us to pick which side NOT to order since we both do not like coleslaw. BF ranked the meat at Old Patio number one from all the bbq we tried so far. The bartenders here are amazing, and I love all the OGs who have been there for years. I always feel welcome and genuinely enjoy sitting at the bar. That said, I recently witnessed a woman who appeared to be a manager speaking disrespectfully to her staff, and I really did not care for that. It was disappointing to see, especially at a place where I've otherwise had such positive experiences. It's a shame. read more

I really want to love this place but the patio is so uncomfortable. A few shade sails can make such a difference. The food here is very good. But if you're roasting in the sun while you eat, it makes it hard to enjoy. I am not sure why they don't add in more umbrellas or a shade sail. It would bring in more business for sure. And why have live music in middle of the heat? How does the musician even play when it's that sunny and no shade? The food is worth returning for and we know they don't control the weather, but at least try to make it comfortable for your customers. read more

Pretty bummed! I drove 2 hours to come try this spot since posts on social media looked good. We got the three meat plate and 2/3 meats were border line inedible and clearly from the end of the piece of meat. The ribs were some of the smallest ribs I have seen (after the 6 dollar up charge) and the brisket was mainly bark with a huge piece of unrendered fat in the middle. When I first walked in was immersed by the decor with horns on the wall, lassos, and cow hide. The bar has seats with backs that I really appreciate. It is a touch confusing when you enter since it's self seating and there is no clear signs, but go ahead and find a spot and seat yourself. The brisket is seasoned by "Meat Dave" who is a Netflix comedian and bbq podcaster. I learned he has free comedy shows every other Wednesday at the restaurant which is good to know. The patio was nice, but we sat at the bar since it was packed outside. Our food came out fast, we ordered the three meat plate with chicken, sausage, tri-tip, sweet beans and Cole slaw. The plate also had pickles and pickled onions on it. The table had four bbq sauces to pick from, we mostly used the Carolina gold. I also ordered a street corn dip that was quite a large serving with a big portion of tortilla chips to go with. Our favorites were the chicken, Tri-tip and the sweet beans, while the other items were also good those three really stood out. I will definitely return to try more items on the menu. read more

We just moved to El Segundo from Redondo and are looking for places in the neighborhood. We stopped by and had the best time. The bartender Grant made some amazing cocktails and kept us entertained and laughing the whole hole time. The place is like and old timey saloon and I half expected Wyatt Earp or Billy the kid to come stumbling in. We will definitely come back to enjoy the food and music on the patio read more

BBQ was not worth the price tag unfortunately. Dry pulled pork, smoked sausage tasted more like a grilled hot dog. Sides were oddly bland with the exception of the Mac n cheese which was wildly salty with overpowering smoke flavor added. Brisket was alright, sadly, nothing to write home about. Not worth the $80+ price tag for two (3 meat combo and 2 meat combo) Staff was nice and friendly, no other complaints about the actual establishment - I'm sure this would be a good place to just stick to the drinks. read more

I've been in El Segundo for a while now and have never been to nor heard of old town patio until this year. My understanding is that there has been a major revamp and now it's becoming the happening spot. My #1 reason to come here is the food! Omg best bbq in town. If you haven't had the brisket yet, that's a must! But everything else is delicious too. They are now my fave breakfast burrito place. Sad part is that they only make them on Sundays, but I know where I want to be for a bomb breakfast burrito and football! The pic is of their pork belly + bacon breakfast burrito. Totally a 15 out of 10! Yum! Only downside is that it's beer/wine/seltzer only. But if you're good with that, come check them out. They have comedy nights, live music and sports. Staff's friendly and attentive. Seems like younger crowd and family outside (picnic style benches and big tv with stage) and older crowd inside, I'm assuming the OG regulars. It's a good time. I work in El Segundo and tried Old Town Patio at the urging of a colleague who, like me, can't get enough of Adam Perry Lang's BBQ pop-ups. Lang's BBQ is hands-down the best in L.A., but this surprising place is smoking-up some of the best Q in the SoBay. Walk past the rather non-descript facade and you'll find yourself in a homey bar that's heavy on the wood. Out back, there's a spacious patio- perfect for bringing the puppy along. TVs aplenty. But, you're not here for the ambience. You're here for Pitmaster Dave Williamson's BBQ. You won't be disappointed. The jalapeño cheese sausages here are among the best I've had at any BBQ joint in CA or elsewhere. The chili is absolutely packed with smoked brisket. On another occasion, I had a very good grilled cheese and brisket sandwich. I have every intention of trying every single item on the menu. Prices are low for the quality. Two recommendations to the owners: add a 1,2, or 3-meat combo and ribs to the menu. The sandwiches are good, but the smoked and grilled meats really can stand on their own. In the meantime, order the grilled cheese sandwich and add brisket, pork, chicken thighs, and brisket on the side to create your own 4-meat sampler. Deliciousness. Summary: This is the spot! They've done a fantastic job with the revamp. Great casual vibe, with an excellent back patio space for live music and watching sports while enjoying fantastic barbeque paired with a cold beer or other beverage. I highly recommend the grilled cheese with brisket and the corn dip, and trying all of the different sauces (BBQ and other). Only opportunities for improvement are need for more serving staff on busy nights and more craft beer options on tap (tons of mainstream choices though). This is a great dining experience on the far South end of downtown. Keep it up OTP! read more

WE DO NOT STAND FOR GATEKEEPING OR EXCLUDING HERE. The bartenders at the bar inside when you initially enter are very rude and unwelcoming to non-locals or first timers, so don't bother looking at them or speaking to them. Just go straight to the back, all the way past the bar and there is a door leading to the outdoor patio. If the patio seating is full, write your name down on the clipboard attached to the door and they will come around and call your name. The patio is where you want to be anyway, the atmosphere is much nicer and the servers back there are also nicer. There is often some form of entertainment going on back there. The back patio is dog friendly but there is no outdoor entrance so you have to bring your dog through the bar. The indoor bar is a dive bar as advertised on their website. On a Saturday night by 7pm they were out of brisket and tri-tip so I guess go early? It was very crowded and there was live music. If you're a local you know there is no decent BBQ in the South Bay, but now there is. The food was EXCELLENT. I got the last of the tri-tip and the sausage, plus two sides and even the sides were good. Very flavorful and came out quick and hot. Even though it was very crowded the server was attentive and nice. I would like to go on a less busy night and earlier in the evening so I could properly enjoy because it was very crowded. Minus one star because the bartenders at the front were SO rude and uncalled for, we almost turned around. Like I said just push past them and ignore them and it's all good. read more

Had never been here previously, and now that it's been fixed up, I caught some of their Instagram marketing and decided to check it out. It's interesting because you walk in, and it looks like an old guy / old-school Chicago-corner bar, but when you walk back into their big patio outside, it's modern and inviting. They were out of the wings on this past post-Thankgiving Saturday, and we were just there for drinks and a little bit of food. I tried one of their salads, which was excellent. Huge props to management on not having a deep fryer, so the wings are grilled. Every restaurant in the world has French fries and potato chips. Go next door if you want that. This was a really nice looking menu, nothing deep fried, and I can't wait to go back and try more soon. read more

The staff were lovely. The beer selection was great. The food, oh no! I had the grilled Caesar salad with tri tip. The salad part seemed old. Maybe it was only because it was grilled, but I think not. The tri tip was tough. I ordered two burgers to go, one with sausage. They were for my 16-year-old twins. Both had upset stomachs for a day. I ate at old town patio for the first time last week. I understood it had been redone, so I did not know what to expect. We went through the bar, which was very cool out to the patio area. It was a gorgeous day and people were there having a great time. There were sports on the TV. There were a lot of families and children hanging out. A friend and I shared a salad an appetizer, and it was delicious ice cold beer was great. Service was very attentive. I look forward to trying it again very soon. They have great selection of beers on tap and if you a fan of Guinness like my self they have that on tap. I recommend getting the BIG DOG beer mug best deal for your buck. Great bbq, cheap drinks, nice atmosphere, friendly service. What more can you ask for? First off, the bbq is as good as other bbq places advertising they sell bbq. My favorites so far is the pulled pork and the tri tip. Have yet to try the chicken because it sells out. The brisket was sold out the first visit but did get it on the second try. I still might rank LA Brisket as my #1 brisket when they get it right. The Mac and cheese and the potato salad were good as well. I've been drinking wine lately so having cheap but great tasting wine is a plus. With generous portions I might add. We sat at the outside patio and the service was very attentive for a casual bar/grill???(if I can call it grill???) With sports playing on the tv, comedy nights, live music, this will be the hot spot, no doubt about it. Not warm in the slightest and bland and dry. Is there way to serve it warm? Sides were ok. Vibe is fun. Need better beer selection! No local beer on tap? The service was abominable here, we sat down as a table of 2 only getting a side and a small entree and while they brought our food out fast we then proceeded to never see our server again. the place is small and we had only 1 other table to compete with. I understand a large party sat down near us but never checking in on us and having to fiscally chase down the waiter to ask for a check was just ridiculous with the amount of times we tried to signal anyone over. The pulled pork was really good and they gave me a rack of bbq sauce to try it with but the famous Mac and cheese they praise on their menu is in our opinions very bad and would be better if they didn't drown it in almost unmelted American cheese.
