    Moscow Mule

Came here for drinks with my brothers. I had wine, and they tried the Moscow mule, which was a bit disappointing--there wasn't much flavor, and they were expecting more. We only had one drink before leaving. The service was fast, and the ambiance was nice. This place is always busy, but it's still a good spot for a quick bite or a casual stop.

Stopped in to get out happy hour pizza and to our surprise they do not service it. Very small compared to Long Beach and the happy hour menu had items I didn't fancy. I also noticed this location does not offer full bar. Large open view and surround by many other restaurants. If you're seeking low foot traffic with chill vibes.. this is the place: if you'd like full serviced bar, expanded HR menu and view of 2nd street go to LB!

    World Series action at Simmzy's

TLDR: Great atmosphere, ocean views and fresh air. Friendly service, mediocre food. Lorraine was a friendly face that greeted us when we walked up to the restaurant when I was busy Wednesday evening. Kids were still running around in Halloween costumes, the Dodgers vs. Blue Jays World Series game was on and there was a really good vibe. The we ordered some wings to get started which were piping hot (temperature-wise) but the flavor was sort of bland. Neither sweet nor spicy. Texture was good, nice crispy outside and moist inside. But there were only six. I ordered the Bacon Blue burger with mixed sweet potato and regular fries. The burger was decent. Good flavor. But I ordered it medium and it came out Medium Well. Not too big of a deal but just a little drier than I preferred. The best part was seeing the beautiful Manhattan Beach sunset in the distance, feeling the crisp (for the area) fall air and enjoying the vibe. Service 8/10 Location 9/10 Food 6.5/10 Would I come back?... absolutely!

Simmzy's is a fun place. It's also in a fun place that I happened to really enjoy during our trip to California; Manhattan Beach. We happened by and had actually started out with plans on having dinner somewhere different, but we ended up here and it was a nice experience. The edge here is that it has a beachfront brewery vibe to it but in a nice compact space tucked along the side of the main drag headed down towards the water. I also enjoyed the selection of beers that they had available, although it was IPA heavy, although that seems to be everywhere anymore, being nearly impossible to find a nice clean lagered brew of almost any type anywhere. The menu was everything you would expect from a place with a fresh and interesting offering and the staff was fun and upbeat. As you may know by now if you have read any of my other reviews, when the menu has many choices that all sound good, I have a bit of a hard time making a final decision. But the gentleman behind the bar that was helping our table was fully engaged in making our meal a success. The sandwich I had was pretty good although I was jealous of Hayley's poke bowl as it looked really great. Everyone else had nachos as usual and fries. Where Simmzy's really seemed to excel was that they really didn't shine in any one particular way, but they didn't flounder in any way at all either. It's one of those places that just feels good to go to, I feel this would be especially true if you live nearby. Being able to stop in for a lunch or dinner or any small meal in between and have all the common favorites with interesting things thrown in every once in a while. If we happen to have the opportunity to take another trip back to Manhattan Beach in the future, I am positive that we will likely stop at Simmzy's again and I will be looking forward to it.

It's Simmzy's! They make a great burger. Took a friend to downtown Manhattan Beach to watch the sunset and then we grabbed some sandwiches at Simmzy's. Our server was good and gave great recommendations. The location is great for people watching in MB. Relaxing and fun time.

The food was delicious. We ordered the garlic seasoned fries, goat cheese salad, 15 minute wings. My favorite was the wings. I could eat two orders by myself! But we shared our wings, salad, and fries. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance was loud and lively. The seating was a bit tight but the service staff and guests navigated the aisles with some close calls with derrières and field of views. But no one seemed to mind. Overall I would definitely return. There are burgers that looked fantastic on nearby tables.

Baja fish tacos, ahi tostada, salmon sandwich

Really nice spot in Manhattan Beach. We street parked which wasn't too hard to get a couple blocks away on a holiday Tuesday. It was taco Tuesday so we got Baja fish tacos which were my favorite thing there. Ahi tostada was also flavorful and crispy. We got the salmon sandwich which they graciously split for us into two plates and the mixed bag fries (sweet lotto and thin crispy potato) were delicious. Nice and attentive service. Pretty small spot but had a nice outdoor patio. Definitely would recommend this place for a good spot in downtown Manhattan Beach!

    Traditional Sangria..refreshing!

Only had to wait around 15 min on a Sunday evening. The staff were friendly and attentive. Great drink and food menu, highly recommend the nachos with birria for starters. The traditional sangria was also real tasty. A great place to grab food and drinks that's walking distance from the strand.

Simmzy's in Manhattan Beach delivered an excellent dining experience. Perfectly located in downtown near the pier, the restaurant has a lively yet comfortable beachside atmosphere that works well for families and casual dining. The service was fast and efficient, and the entire staff from the manager to our server who was friendly, attentive, and professional. Everything we ordered was well prepared: the kids' grilled cheese with fries was simple and satisfying, the Simmzy's nachos were flavorful and great for sharing, the crispy crunchy vegan salad bowl was fresh and well balanced, and the Lil' Simmzy's burger was juicy and delicious. Overall, great food, excellent service, and a welcoming environment. Highly recommend if you're in Manhattan Beach. we'll definitely be back.

Stopped in here for the first time and really enjoyed it! Came in around dinner time, and it was packed. Definitely recommend making a reservation if possible. The inside is very small but a great beach bar vibe! Good music playing and plenty of TVs throughout to catch the game. Our food was delicious! Ordered the California Chicken Sandwich w/ the half garlic fries and half sweet potato fries. So good! We also got an order of the 15 Minute Wings and those were very good and big. Would recommend those for sure! Drink wise, the Beach Cruiser Blonde is fantastic. A very good beer! The only negative of our experience was the space/seating. You're right on top of the other tables, almost uncomfortably. Other than that, very happy we stopped in and would definitely come back again!

So the wife and I were craving a new spot last weekend and came across this place on yelp. It was pretty busy but we were able to find a table. It was pretty loud and crowded on a Sunday afternoon but the menu looked good. Our waiter was nice enough to help with beer suggestions. For starters we got the 15 min wings (but worth the wait) for an appetizer and those were nice and crunchy. We also got the sweet and spicy crispy cauliflower appetizer which was delicious. For our entrees we spilt the little gem salad with a piece of salmon. They were nice enough to let us split the plate since we had a big amount of appetizers. We hope to go back and try the burgers and cocktails next time. Salad and salmon were so good I forgot to take a picture.

Place was pretty busy but service was fast and friendly. Place was very clean. Staff was attentive. Good was well seasoned and tasted delicious. Parking is a challenge but not impossible.

    Ahi Poke Tostada
    Katrina M.

Delish delish delish! I ordered the ahi poke tostada and the fish taco and both were SO good! The ahi tuna was so fresh. I loved the atmosphere it was a great day to be sitting in patio seating. Additionally, the cactus cooler cocktail was refreshing and hit me just right for my Friday afternoon cocktail.

Every round that hit the table was a "pass it around, everybody try this" moment. The kind of happy hour where you're not just snacking -- you're accidentally having a full-on dinner because you can't stop ordering "one more thing." Food: Legit. Everything we tried was solid, but the wings were the standout for me -- the kind you keep reaching for even when you tell yourself you're good. Great flavor, cooked right, and they held their own against any wing spot that claims they're "known for wings." Whatever they're doing back there, keep doing that. Service / experience: This is where they really won. Trent was our guy tonight and I can't say enough about him. Manager supreme is the right title -- he wasn't just checking boxes, he was running the whole experience. He served, suggested, kept the pacing perfect, and made it feel effortless while still being locked in the entire time. You can tell when someone actually cares that your night is going well, and Trent is that dude. Major asset to this business and the kind of manager that turns first-time visits into "we're coming back next week." Atmosphere was exactly what you want for Manhattan Beach happy hour: lively, comfortable, easy to settle in, and perfect for a group. We came to try the menu and ended up staying for the vibe. Only complaint -- and it's not even on them, it's on the "beach cities trying to save the world one soggy sip at a time" vibe -- the paper straws. I swear those things last 11 minutes before they turn into a wet napkin. Let me live, Rockerfellas Bottom line: If you want a happy hour that actually delivers, Rockerfellas is it. Bring friends, come hungry, and if you get Trent taking care of you? You're in elite hands. We'll be back.

GIve me a break. JUST SAY that The Rockefeller isn't dog-friendly and be done with it, ok? By the way, this incident WAS on Mother's Day 2026, so the staff was particularly overwhelmed. . . so there's that timing. On a previous time my husband and I had brunch here about 4-5 months ago, we DID take our little doggie without any issue. So the staff either has to get their stories straight for next time or just say that The Rockefeller IS dog-friendly, BUT ONLY for a two- or one-person party. Other than that, The Rockefeller's Chilaquiles are phenomenal. It was flavorful and filling. Also, the Bacon & Eggs (two eggs, any style) -- which I had my eggs over-easy -- were outstanding. Bottom-line: Don't bring your dog. It's just too complicated for The Rockefeller to handle. Leave your dog at home.

Customer Service Incident- 5-19-26 Check # 72 Table 31…read more This report outlines concerns regarding a recent dining experience at Tin Roof Bistro (TRB) in Manhattan Beach. While prior visits to the restaurant have consistently met high standards of quality and service, several service and billing issues during the most recent visit resulted in dissatisfaction and concern regarding the accuracy of the final bill and tip calculation. Following a lengthy day of medical appointments and a 90-minute drive from UCLA during rush hour traffic, my wife and I decided to dine at Tin Roof Bistro rather than return home to prepare a meal. Based on previous positive experiences, we expected the same level of quality and service historically associated with the establishment. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and initially received courteous service from our waiter, Brandon. However, several issues arose throughout the course of the meal: We ordered two glasses of wine shortly after being seated. Despite the simplicity of the order, the beverages were not delivered in a timely manner. Our order included: * A Caesar salad to share * Bread service * Two entrées After an extended wait period, I reminded the waiter that the Caesar salad had not yet been served. The salad was then delivered promptly following the reminder. At the time the salad arrived, I specifically requested that the entrées not be brought out until we had finished the salad course. Despite this request, the entrées were delivered within minutes, before we had consumed more than a few bites of the salad. We asked staff to remove the entrées temporarily until we completed the appetizer course. The entrées were eventually re-served and were of good quality. Billing and Point-of-Sale Concerns The primary concern arose during the payment process. The electronic payment screen initially appeared accurate with respect to the total amount due. Based on the displayed total, I elected to leave a 20% gratuity despite the service shortcomings experienced during the meal. After requesting a printed receipt, I discovered the following: * The entrées had been entered twice on the bill. * A corresponding credit had been applied to offset the duplicate charge. * The gratuity calculation, however, appeared to be based on the inflated subtotal before the duplicate entrée credit was applied. This duplicate entry increased the apparent bill total by approximately 54%, which in turn increased the calculated tip amount accordingly. Due to fatigue at the time, I chose not to pursue the matter with management during the visit. However, I also observed a nearby table returning an order, which raises concern that similar billing or service issues may have affected other customers. Concerns and Recommendations Given the increasing public discussion surrounding questionable tipping and point-of-sale practices, this experience raises concerns regarding whether: 1. The issue resulted from an employee action, or 2. The POS system is improperly calculating gratuity suggestions based on inaccurate pre-adjustment totals. While I cannot determine whether this incident was intentional, I strongly recommend that Tin Roof Bistro review its POS system configuration and billing procedures to ensure gratuity calculations are based solely on the actual final total owed by the customer. Additionally, improved coordination between kitchen staff and servers regarding course timing would significantly improve the dining experience. This experience was disappointing, particularly because Tin Roof Bistro has historically maintained a high standard of service and consistency. Although the food quality remained good, the service delays and billing irregularities negatively impacted the overall experience. Should I choose to dine at TRB again, I will pay closer attention to the billing and gratuity calculations before completing payment.

These plants appeared to have union representation. They're everywhere. Hanging from things. Growing out of things. Quietly observing your meal. The whole place feels like someone built a really nice restaurant and then let nature move in as a long term tenant. The room hums. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just enough. Glasses clink. People lean into conversations. Servers weave through the room carrying plates that look heavy enough to alter their center of gravity. Nobody seems rushed. Everybody seems busy. It's a difficult balance. The biscuits arrived first. Now, I'd heard about the biscuits. People talk about these biscuits the way fishermen talk about the one that got away. Slightly dramatic. A little emotional. Hard to verify. Turns out the stories were true. Warm bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter. I took one bite and immediately understood why people order a second round. The outside has just enough structure to remind you it's baked. The inside is soft enough to make you wonder whether butter has secretly become a building material. We ordered another. Not because we needed another. Because apparently that's what happens here. The creamy polenta showed up next and felt like the culinary equivalent of a weighted blanket. Comforting. Smooth. Relaxed. The sort of dish that encourages you to slow down and stop checking your phone. The duck was one of my favorites. Lightly fried with crisp skin and tender meat, resting on white Italian beans and rosemary. It felt like something a French chef would cook after spending a weekend in the countryside and becoming briefly inspired by fresh air. At some point you stop evaluating food and simply nod in agreement with it. This was one of those moments. Dessert was equally dangerous. The olive oil cake arrived with strawberries and disappeared much faster than logic suggested it should. The cheesecake somehow managed to be rich and light at the same time, which feels like it should violate a law of physics somewhere. Service deserves its own mention. The whole team operates like a group project where everyone actually did their part. Plates appeared when they should. Water glasses mysteriously refilled themselves. Questions were answered without anyone making you feel like you should already know the answer. The chef's French influence shows up everywhere, but not in a showy way. Nothing feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Everything feels like somebody spent a lot of time thinking about it so you wouldn't have to. By the end of the meal, I realized Manhattan Beach Post had done something difficult. It felt special without feeling serious. You can dress up. You can come casually. You can celebrate something important or absolutely nothing at all. Just order the biscuits. The plants already know you're going to.

Some dishes could've been executed better. Going down the list of dishes I had here: - Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits: These were more like scones rather than biscuits. Crunchy with good bacon and cheddar flavor. - Japanese Hamachi Crudo: Unique and I liked the citrusy flavor and creamy texture. However, 3 small slices of fish for $26 was overpriced. - Leafy Greens & Radicchio: Solid and crispy salad with a nice tangy dressing. The cheese also added a lot of sharp flavor which was nice. - Skirt Steak: Good flavor and char, but a bit tough. Also some dry pieces. - Chilean Sea Bass: Lemon orzo risotto was creamy and delicious. The sea bass itself was okay, nothing special. It felt overpowered by the risotto. The fish was moist and flaky though. - 20 Oz Prime Beef Ribeye: Quality was subpar relative to price. Portion size was solid by the steak itself was inconsistent. Some of the pieces were rarer while others were more well-done even though we asked for medium rare. There were also some dry pieces which I did not like. Flavor was good though. - Strawberry and Olive Oil Cake: Was confused since there was just a thin layer of cake, but realized the title also referred to the mousse. I would title it 'Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil Cake" to make it less confusing. Regardless, this was a delicious dessert! Love the fruity strawberry and savory pistachio flavors as well as the smooth textures. - S'mores sundae: Got this on the house for my aunt's birthday. A generous portion but the components were a bit too sweet for my liking. I visited this restaurant for a birthday that I organized and my experience was overall good. Reservation was made easy using OpenTable and I could also mention it was for a birthday occasion. The ambiance was gorgeous with good mood lighting. Good for group and 1 on 1 dining. Parking is metered or street parking. Overall, I probably wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again, but my experience wasn't bad just not significant enough to put in my rotation. Would come back if someone treated me here though.
