We came here last night for drinks, and again today to try their loaded nachos. So tasty! Their whiskey sour is amazing and I love how they specify no sour mix! Their tap list is solid. My husband and I came here for the first time to celebrate my first anniversary at my big kid job and were not disappointed to say the very least! The service was excellent and we felt welcomed right away even though it's a place where you need to order first and then grab a seat. Now let's talk about the food and drinks... First off the citrus salad was one of the best things I've eaten in a while. I don't know if that's hyperbolic, but I'm telling you it was delicious. And I eat a lot of different things at this restaurant, but this was by far my favorite, which is crazy because I love steak, but there was no stick in it. But they did offer to add chicken if you want which I did not, but it didn't need it cause it was incredible. The brisket tacos were really good. They had a really good hot sauce too and they were pretty filling. The Mojo chicken rice bowl was also really tasty with a nice citrusy balance of flavors, avocado, chicken, and one of my favorite things in the whole world, which is pickled red onion. My husband was more partial to the Cubano sandwich than I was but it was really tasty. It had a really nice zing with the pickles and mustard. We had some cherry and chocolate swirl, boozy, sorbet, FroYo thing that was really really good! I've never had boozy ice cream before, but this was enjoyable for sure. We shared a whole bunch of cocktails that were incredibly delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the cocktails that you order here because they were all top shelf. Each one had a nice balance with aromatics, visual appeal, and unmatched creativity. Lovespell was pretty, pink, and super cute with a lavender sprig that added a really romantic touch to a fun, tangy, fresh drink. The golden mai tai was exactly what I hoped it would be. I can't say much else, except that it was well balanced, fragrant, and delightful. The milk punch was smooth and pineapply, balanced but strong (don't worry there's no milk in it haha). The Multnomah Mule was herbaceous and crisp. I was pleasantly surprised by this one as I don't normally enjoy many vodka drinks. Last, but not least a real sleeper: the pumpkin drink... This drink was cool, creamy, warming, and somehow strangely comforting. I think I could drink a gallon of this drink. Besides all of the amazing craft cocktails this place has it also has a whole bunch of great and Vi and other good stuff on tap. 10 out of 10 I highly recommend this place! It's great for couples groups or a solo night of trying some fun cocktails (Just make sure you get an Uber or a Lyft). I have been a customer for 3 years. Before today, I would have been glad to report a few excellent things about this establishment (a wide selection of food and beverages, cleanliness, exceptional customer service, etc) but unfortunately, today, my family was 100% discriminated against. We walked in and paid for a pint. My two children (ages 1 and 5) ran around for approx 4 min before we settled in and I asked them to calm down. Suddenly, a man popped his head around from the back room door and said "Hello, can your kids keep it down? Otherwise I will have to ask you to leave" I replied "Well I am not sure if you heard; but I JUST asked them to settle down." Unnamed Man: "Okay, well I need them to be quiet." Me: "Do you have children?" Unnamed Man: "Yes, I have one, and when I need her to be quiet, I take her outside of the establishment." Me: "Okay, then you understand its difficult to accomplish that with a 1.5 year old?" Unnamed Man:"I am going to ask you to leave. Your beer will be comped (IT WASN'T) and I need you to go right now. This is a bar." Me: "As far as I am concerned, this should be a kid-friendly establishment until 6 pm when minors are no longer permitted." Owner: "Well I am the owner and I want you to leave now!" I have never felt so judged for having children in my life, ever before. I am in utter shock at the treatment of this establishment and will be reaching out to News Outlets in the area to cover this story in hopes of preventing this discrimination from happening to another family in our neighborhood. ** EDITED AS OF 11/29/23 ** For the record, the restaurant across the way welcomed all of my family members with open arms. In fact, the clients around us all made a point to say hello to my children and compliment their personalities. The 649 establishment: Owner claims my children were screaming "bloody murder" HOWEVER, No patrons were disheveled/annoyed, and in fact both parties said hello and chatted with us Given the opportunity, my kids would have calmed down. We needed about 30 more seconds. For a total time of chaos of 5 min. With 2 kids 5 and under, I consider that a feat. I wanted to order them additional food, get another beverage, etc. but we were escorted from the property. I hope this business is replaced with ownership that allows, accepts, and supports families at their best and worst. After visiting this place twice, I can confirm that there is very little wrong here. The service is great, bartenders very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and warm. The food was awesome too; I ordered the Cubano and my girlfriend the grilled cheese with brisket, both of them we loved. The drinks are the highlight, though, all various kinds of ciders and beers with some great cocktails included in the menu. There's something for everyone and, again, the place is inviting making drinking here quite comfortable. Plus, every Tuesday there is a trivia night, Jeopardy style and although quite busy - understandably so - it's a unique, incredible way of bringing people together to have fun in the community. Went to the 649 for a small birthday gathering. It was a little tucked back so if I had not gone with a friend who had been before I would not be able to find it. Parking was not terrible because we got there early evening. We arrived to a medium filled place and it was apparent you order from the bar. We sat our stuff down and ordered. The line does not move quickly. It seemed like they needed one more hand maybe for making drinks. The people were friendly that were working. The choices for drinks were different and sometiing niche for the place. I got a drink that did not taste like having much liquor but was well crafted. We definitely came here pre-COVID but how this place pivoted to stay open and fluid simply amazed me - and saved our sanity really while being cooped up. Once they were forced to shut down they almost immediately offered crowlers and came up with some delicious canned cocktails that were amazing (until the OLCC shut that down, boo). No matter, within weeks they had new OLCC approved cocktails, frozen drinks, etc. Every one we tried was delicious. They also started a soup kitchen and later added on salads. The soups were marvelous though sadly never did get around trying the salads. In normal times, this place is just as good. The beer selection is always changing and creative and they have an excellent selection of bottled/canned beers as well. In addition, the normal full food menu is delicious. The bartenders are always nice and quick to offer a sample if you're indecisive. They also have books and games if you need something to do in addition to a few TVs. They have a patio and just recently added another option for outside seating. Minors allowed until 6pm. I'm glad to see they appear to have weathered the storm and will keep this on our roster of must-gos. read more

The owners obviously have a solid moral compass as they market humanitarian needs around the globe. This is our second time at The 649. The food, beer and cocktails were perfect, and fun! It has a very nice friendly atmosphere , clean, modern looking, excellent wood bar top that their grandfather built. We enjoyed flights of beer where you can choose 5 of their many selections from local breweries. We also had an Old Fashioned that was smoked under a glass with applewood for several minutes. I would order that one again. We had fondue, and BLTA as well as the salads and it is all fantastic. The home made pickles with the sandwich are unique and the would make me order the sandwich again just for those. Come early on the weekends as it gets packed. Fortunately you can park in the huge Albertsons parking lot. Everyone is friendly and good service. Such a cool restaurant and taphouse in Aloha! My husband is from the Aloha area and every time we're in town visiting, he likes to take me to a fun local spot. We came to The 649 last Friday and we were quite impressed with it. Awesome food and beers in a relaxed atmosphere. Even my mother-in-law, who isn't a big beer drinker, loved the pilsner. They have a huge variety of brews and their food items are really unique. We all shared the Pizza Fondue (Amazing!
