This place is a lighthouse among rows of residences. Love the cabin feel. Phenomenal beers. Usual mixers. I enjoy the panini sandwiches they have as well as their soft pretzel. Good happy hour. I liked it a lot here! It's close to our house, but away from all the Park Slope hubbub. The bar had a healthy group of people in it for a Tuesday evening, which was nice. Last night was, at least, the second time I've left after waiting several minutes for a bartender to acknowledge me. I asked one bartender about the beers and she said that I probably knew as much as she did. It's on par with Skylark -- if you get a good bartender it's a good night, but otherwise it's hot and stuffy and someone is always on a laptop. read more

If you were ever a kid who spent their summers lakeside upstate or wish you did, this is the bar for you. They have a great draft selection and a nice set of signature cocktails. I love this bar. I may be biased because I live *really* close but it's adorable, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, the drinks are good, the prices are good and when I have forgotten or had no time to go grocery shopping they have some sandwiches. In a neighborhood where there's nothing much open after 10pm, this is great to have a place to go. The crowd here is also very friendly. Ehhh... Pretty disappointed with this bar. Uninspired cocktail menu, over 40 alternative-top-40 on the radio, and typical "Brooklyn" cabin feel. The female bar tender stared directly into my eyes and said nothing upon my saying hello. The other bar tender got my drink order wrong, though there was no one else at the bar. Not sure why someone would go here when Le paddock is across the street? Giving two stars instead of one because the bathroom was clean. Wish this neighborhood had more options already!!! read more

Been coming here for a while and love the place. The bartenders are very personable and friendly, and really seem interested and in getting to know the clientele. Last time we came in it was relatively empty and chatted with Kristen and Mario for about an hour. For a low-key neighborhood place I couldn't ask for anything better. I hesitate to give 5 stars unless I've been to a place more than once and know the experience wasn't a fluke. After 3 times at this newish neighborhood joint I can say The Adirondack encompasses everything I need in a regular go to. Good beer selection (including GF beer!!), PACMAN, decent prices, a homey feel, cool without pretense, and friendly clientele. Good for a date, solo drinking or groups.. but honestly what wins my heart is the vibe. I can't help but feel totally comfortable here and nostalgic for my Northwest days.. it evokes that reminiscent time of sexy down to earth drinkin' true to its woodsy name.. rare to find in NYC. read more

This is a cozy, low-key neighborhood bar that's perfect for just hanging out with friends or by yourself. It gets busy bet it's never raucous or unbearably crowded. Almost always great music is playing and the cocktails are fresh and interesting, as well as they have a good beer selection. I happen to love the decor--warmly lamplit upstate hunting cabin--and there's a pleasant outdoor area that's perfect for sitting outside on a warm evening. The thing I really like is that the bloody mary here is so good--I am fussy about bloody marys and will only order them where I know they're really good. (A meh bloody mary is so disappinting.) Bartender Kristin makes them spicy, the way I like them, with pepperoncini. I highly recommend them here and it's currently my favorite bloody mary which is saying something. read more

Lovely little bar with lots of nooks and warmth. A great list of local beers on draft, and it proved itself to be a nice place to catch up with a friend. Always nice to have a bar where you can manage a conversation instead of shouting WHAT all night. I'm also told that they do a vinyl night, which might be worth checking out if you're a local audiophile. read more

Great little local bar with a friendly crowd. sometimes people swing in after team games in park, very low # of hipster sightings, mostly locals and recent transplants to nabe. nice comfy atmosphere, friendly bar staff, great tab beer list, decent happy hour...i stumbled in here one day just to check it out (live 2 stops away) and wound up chatting with a regular who lives up the street who is now a friend. tables by narrow end over by windows have a nice view of the street. fun, upstate themed interior. and the music the bartenders play is always good (one tends to play very bluesy old stones, which i love). it's got a great atmosphere and one of my favorite places to go on a sunday afternoon for a beer or after a long week at work. outdoor seating is nice too. read more

We found this place after the Brooklyn Rock and Roll half marathon. We had a small group of 6 very thirsty and hungry. Kristen the bartender had her hands full with the crowd but kept pace with everyone. She was able to get drinks and serve the food they offered there. She also told us we could bring food in from across the street. We had a great time and will return if we go back next year. read more

Kristen makes the best Bloody Mary in Brooklyn period. I used to think that that honor belonged to Blue Ribbon but no--hers is best. Great little bar on the corner of prospect avenue and reeve place. I have only stopped in once I really enjoyed the place. They have an amazing selection of craft beers on tap and domestics in bottles. They have a bunch of their own custom cocktails which are very good. I have not tried the food but I hear good things. Just for reference I was born and raised here in Windsor terrace so I really enjoy this place. Sometimes you want Farrell's but other times I can really enjoy a play like this. This might just be the perfect neighborhood bar. Inside it is all casual woody décor, relaxed atmosphere, and consistently amazing tunes. A variety of beers on tap and cocktails are served affably by delightful bar tenders. There is even a patio that is equally pleasant and surprisingly tranquil. Love this place for a cold one and a pretzel right after a long day in the office! Beer is always cold, and the pretzels always hot! I love this place. A great casual neighborhood bar with families, dogs, and good vibes. I go all the time. The ONLY negative about this place is the staff -- most are OK, but there are a few bartenders who give terrible service. I've waited in a mostly empty bar for bartenders to wash glasses, have conversations with customer who are nursing drinks, and just look at their phone. My friends and I make a game of it... so far there is a woman bartender in "the lead" with a 6 MINUTE WAIT FOR A BEER IN AN EMPTY BAR. Would be funny if this didn't happen every. single. time. Cute place, great beer selection, but rudest bartender ever. It's a shame, we were a group of 12 and we walked out after buying a round of shots, including one for him before we learned what a jerk he was. He lost out on a lot of money. Hey! Prices that won't kill you, amazing! Selection? Not bad at all, I believe they do rotate the beer's on tap regularly which is nice. The inside seems to always been well cleaned to me and they go for a rustic, forest-y feel, perhaps a little more character with the paint or furniture or something and it could be really quaint. We had been there before and had a great time so were returning. On the website as well as the blackboard outside it seemed to say beer wine and well drinks were included in happy hour. We ordered Chardonnay which we were told was not included in happy hour. We double checked the blackboard outside which said beer wine and well drinks but ok we weren't going to argue. This might be the best kept secret of the neighborhood and one of the nicest bar I know. You will certainly meet amazing people there! Be sure to try to Grilled cheese and chill out drinking some of the local brewed beers. Solid neighborhood bar doing the good work of showcasing the fantastic craft beers NYS has to offer. They typically have something sour or funky on tap, which gets my vote, in addition to the usual suspects of IPAs, stouts/porters, crisp lagers, and seasonal brews. Love the interior, and the snacks are on point. Wish their cider selection were a bit less macro (though we love Doc's!) and a bit more of a selection, since NYS is such a craft cider powerhouse. read more

I am so happy that this ex coffee shop has made its way to a friendly bar. It's usually a pit stop on walk home that last awhile. The staff is friendly honest and social. I haven't eaten there they have snacks, but I'm sure they would be great . I was there on a sad night and it lifted my spirits. Perfect location. read more

This has slowly become my favorite weekend spot. Kristen and Amanda are top notch bartenders and each bring their own flavor to the bar. They have a pretty solid beer selection that isn't dominated by any particular type of beer. Too many bars have taps that seem a bit heavy on the hoppy beers, but The Adirondack's taps are very diverse. It's exclusively NY state breweries so be aware. The bottled beers are your usual domestics and also Labatt Blue. The cocktails are well made and reasonably priced. This place can get slammed on a Saturday night and people need to have some patience. Just because the bartender can not wait on you hand and foot doesn't mean that the service is lousy, it's Brooklyn and the weekends are busy in most bars. Just chill out and you'll get served like everyone else. They serve really good paninis and pretzels to help pad your stomach while you drink. Definitely worth a visit! read more
