Another local favorite located in downtown Elljay! This Bar…read more& Grill is perfect to grab a burger or your favorite chicken wings. Waitress was friendly and made it very clear not to touch her. She explained that she has an allergy to Mango Habanero sauce. Mango Habanero is one of the chicken wing sauces. We ended up having a conversation about allergies with the waitress. Their chicken wings are juicy and you get many sauces to choose from but my favorite meal was the Mahi Reuben Sandwich which was fantastic. Sweet, tangy and creamy so much better than corned beef. It did not taste fishy at all and the rye bread had the best buttery crisp edges. River Street Tavern is cozy, casual and it has a compact lay out. You get to relax and can have a conversation over a few beers and good food. Place gets busy but is not loud. Whether you're one of the locals or just passing by, leave your mark by pinning a dollar bill to the ceiling.

Small cozy tavern nestled in the corner of downtown town Ellijay is easy to miss but you don't wanna miss out. Love the dollar bill theme stapled on the ceiling and around every nook and cranny of the tavern. Love the support of local artists where masterpieces are displayed for sale. Our waitress was friendly but service was a little slow. Apparently she was allergic to the mango habanero wing flavors we ordered so only really saw her in the beginning and at the end of service. Food was good and the mahi Reuben is a must try as the unique combination actually works very well. Chicken and waffle was also good as the chicken was super crispy and tender and the bacon maple syrup hit the spot! Wings were crispy even when heavily sauced. Definitely will return for the Mahi Reuben!

Family attempted to dine the night before but only one server was on shift as they warned us so we decided to return and give them a shot 2 afternoons later before leaving town. They were still understaffed but not as busy so we risked it all and wasn't too disappointed. Our server was nice and friendly and checked up on us and service was fast and professional. Always love their salad bar and they have a great variety of salad toppings and dressings, along with cold salad options. Everything was fresh and nicely chilled and refreshing as they should be. Our food came out timely and fairly quickly. Everything was hot and fresh. Your classic Ruby Tuesdays always hits the spot and makes you feel welcome with their standard decor that's basic and simple.

We perused the menu which had coordinating pictures- it all looked really good! I haven't been to a Ruby Tuesday in a really long time but I remember their salad bar being good. Mallory took our order and gave us instructions for the salad bar (green a clean plate for each trip). The salad bar had a fantastic variety from field greens to romaine and mushrooms, bell pepper and beets to croutons and 6 dressing choices. My baked potato was a little under done and split open. Since I added the salad bar to my entree, I grabbed some cheddar cheese and bacon bits to add to my potato. Yum! My daughter enjoyed her salmon and steamed broccoli. The music playing over the speakers was a bit loud but I personally liked the style so I just sang along. Mallory really made the visit enjoyable for us- she smiled, refilled our drinks regularly and brought me a to go box. She was pleasant and personable. I'm not sure we'll be back soon due to distance and other options but if we do, we'll ask for Mallory.
