We actually chose this restaurant because it was dog friendly and we bring our dog everywhere we go. The restaurant is "a hole in the wall" type place with no frills but the service and food makes up for it. Our server, Faith, was fantastic and her comedian husband Chad was great too (although he didn't tell us any jokes). We enjoyed the Black Garlic Flat Bread and a margarita pizza. They both were delicious. We will definitely return! read more

I absolutely loved this place. I came with my family when we were in town a few weeks back. Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches and pizza that they got, but most importantly, the highlight of why we stopped in-- the vegan options. They had quite a few to my surprise, which made me really happy to see. I decided on a pizza and I did not disappoint. I put my own toppings on, the vegan cheese was great and the dough was perfect! The restaurant was really cute, and we sat outside with my dog. Our server was really friendly and attentive, and told us about the owner too which was cool. We sat on the deck after the rain so it was comfortable. The bruschetta was excellent and the meatballs were good. Our server, Faith, was super sweet. Sadly, at 4pm on a holiday weekend, they were already out of salmon and carne asada. The managers "bad news/good news" joke fell flat. It wasn't good news that we had "the exciting opportunity to choose something else". I came for the chicken picatta. It was very good. My wife ended up with lamb which was well presented and well prepared. My daughter had the shrimp scampi, which she said was "ok" but compared to salmon, I understand her disappointment. We have eaten there multiple times and have enjoyed it but not the last time. I like to feel what I spend was worth it. I will say that service has always been somewhat inconsistent. There was an issue with the timing of our order, one person was served way before the others. Orders should have been coordinated, regardless of what was ordered, unless otherwise requested . When a simple "I'm sorry" would have sufficed, I got "hey it's not my fault" from our server, then another person came out defending what happened. I didn't need to hear justifications or excuses.... Just say I'm sorry for your experience today. That would have made a difference on whether I go back or not. read more

It was some time ago when I visited this establishment so the kids could have some pizza. I proceeded to place my order and the first red flag was that the only staff member that was there did not know how to operate the oven. If you don't know how to operate it then just admit it. Anyway, I blame myself but the pizza was burnt and tasted awful. read more

We had a reservation for tonight, which I had confirmed over the phone just a few days ago. When we arrived it was to find the restaurant was "closed for maintenance." We had no notification and since it's a holiday weekend, there is nowhere else to eat dinner- every other restaurant in downtown Ellijay is slammed. So now I have some very hungry people (including two kids) who are very mad. Not only am I super annoyed, but I really wanted to eat dinner there!! read more

The food was amazing! We ordered the meatballs and the Tapz signature salad for the appetizer - so delicious! We also had the meatballs and the Cali flatbreads for the main course and they were perfect. The food did take a long time because the other pizza place ran out of dough, so Tapz got slammed with customers. I would say that is my only critique. Maybe had we received the salad and appetizers quicker then the wait would not have been so bad. But everything came out at the same time. However, as I said earlier, the food was great! read more

We went to Tapz for the first time a couple of weeks ago. There were four of us and we all got some version of a pizza or flatbread. They all came out quickly, hot, fresh, and delicious. A must visit place when in Ellijay. the food, the atmosphere, and the service all 10/10. Some of the freshest ceviche I've ever had outside of miami. The combination of flavors on the flat breads are amazing. High-five lines through the bar area. Everyone on the staff is great, personable, fun. It's a place you go in and leave happy. They have fun working and it shows in the food and service. We'll be going back. read more

We stopped by on the patio to listen to some music and fell in love with the place. The owner and staff were very friendly. Love the tour of the restaurant and the history. Owner/Chef is very passionate about her food and it shows. A recommendation by our waitress we had the garlic Parm. Mushroom arugula and steak pizza. Quaint restaurant with a lot of character. Great service! There isn't a ton of seating and it was packed full when we arrived. We sat on the patio and it was perfect. Wide variety of on the menu. The Bruschetta was SO good. We ordered 4 different kinds of pizza for the 5 of us and not a slice was left- even my choosy kids couldn't stop eating. Cold beer on tap was also a win. Everything here was INCREDIBLE from the service to the food. The owner Abby played catch with our kids ..... with pizza dough! For appetizers, our group ordered the bruschetta, cauliflower bites and papas brava. All were delicious. The papas bravas and bruschetta were amazing. I do not eat dairy or meat and the vegan flat bread was delicious. We were all stuffed. Not only was the food incredible, the service was top notch. Charlene was so friendly and made helpful recommendations. We were visiting from out of state and this was the best food on our trip, and honestly in a long time. What a gem. read more

We went in to town Monday only to find most restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so went to Tapz and we're so happy we did.... the service and food were great....even though they've only been open for a few weeks you would never know it.... we had the peel and eat shrimp cooked in Ole Bay and 2 pizza's, we had enough food to take back to our cabin for a late night snack. We ended up going back on Tuesday for more shrimp and drinks LOL.... the chef and team treat you like family and they remembered us... a real delight for an out of towner.... The food was awesome and our server Charlene was the best!! Had the special cocktail for today which was also amazing. The wonderful woman in the kitchen even paused to ask if everyone's food was ok. Will definitely return! read more

I have a very restricted diet due to allergens and almost never eat out because of it but our servers, Tony and Josiah, completely changed that for me. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe, thoughtful, and still absolutely delicious. That level of care and attention meant more than I can put into words. The steak was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. And the olive oil... I genuinely wanted to buy a bottle and take it home it was THAT good. Tony and Josiah didn't just provide great service they made the entire night feel easy, special, and memorable for everyone at the table. We felt genuinely taken care of from start to finish. I noticed the wide array of TVs and a Karaoke stage when were arrived to I asked for the quietest table available. The Host hesitated at first since he'd likely not gotten that request before (it is unusual for a Bar), but he found a table in the back as far away from the sound as possible. Kudos Our Waitress (Haley) was super friendly and helpful with recommendations and took our 6 orders (there were 3 other tables with Patrons). My Big Bear Chicken was one of the last out but probably the first prepared - the Chicken and Onion Rings were too cold to eat. :-( She replaced them with a fresh order and off we went. I wouldn't order the same again as nothing about my meal stood out (even with a freshly prepared order), but I was very happy with the Service and Atmosphere.

We did get the ribs with regular BBQ sauce because we didn't like the flavor of that house sauce but the ribs themselves cooked to perfection. They were even delicious plain. Our favorite of all was the Philly Cheesesteak. Great flavor and well cooked.
