Abby did it again with another excellent dinner!!! I grabbed some food to go and devoured every single bite!!! The scampi is so delicious, and the ellijay salad with the roasted carrots is my favorite! Can't wait to return!

I absolutely loved this place. I came with my family when we were in town a few weeks back. Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches and pizza that they got, but most importantly, the highlight of why we stopped in-- the vegan options. They had quite a few to my surprise, which made me really happy to see. I decided on a pizza and I did not disappoint. I put my own toppings on, the vegan cheese was great and the dough was perfect! The restaurant was really cute, and we sat outside with my dog. Our server was really friendly and attentive, and told us about the owner too which was cool. Would definitely recommend this place!

Nice day for the deck!

We sat on the deck after the rain so it was comfortable. The bruschetta was excellent and the meatballs were good. Our server, Faith, was super sweet. Sadly, at 4pm on a holiday weekend, they were already out of salmon and carne asada. The managers "bad news/good news" joke fell flat. It wasn't good news that we had "the exciting opportunity to choose something else". I came for the chicken picatta. It was very good. My wife ended up with lamb which was well presented and well prepared. My daughter had the shrimp scampi, which she said was "ok" but compared to salmon, I understand her disappointment. We've been here before and will return. Took home a specialty flatbread as always.

The food is great, my four times there , from burgers to pizza to chicken piccata, everything was wonderful. The service is top notch, from the bar to the servers , excellent. Has a great casual downtown vibe, great bar and great outdoor patio with live music on the weekends. Go there, you deserve it.

Restaurant was cramped. Pizza was good and serving size was great. Servers were nice. Prices seemed a bit excessive.

Arrived into the Ellijay area the day after Christmas around 8p, much of the town was closed. We went to Ellijay Tapz. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Everything we had was excellent! I ordered a drink that had rum and blueberry syrup I cannot remember the name of it- I never had a blend like that- it was wonderful!! We started with the smoked salmon carpaccio and a bowl of soup of the day which was a chicken curry soup. We each ordered our own personal pizza- the chicken flat was a perfect blend of flavors-chicken, ricotta, mozzarella and pineapple sauce. The build your pie of one meat and two veggies was perfect! Prosciutto with tomatoes and arugula was very tasty! One of the best meals we ever had while traveling!! I will definitely be telling everyone I know if they visit Ellijay the Ellijay Tapz is a must!!

Wow! This place is great. While the menu is somewhat limited, there are plenty of options for diverse palettes and everything we have had (we are still eating!) has been great. Eat here often!

She explained that she has an allergy to Mango Habanero sauce. Mango Habanero is one of the chicken wing sauces. We ended up having a conversation about allergies with the waitress. Their chicken wings are juicy and you get many sauces to choose from but my favorite meal was the Mahi Reuben Sandwich which was fantastic. Sweet, tangy and creamy so much better than corned beef. It did not taste fishy at all and the rye bread had the best buttery crisp edges. River Street Tavern is cozy, casual and it has a compact lay out. You get to relax and can have a conversation over a few beers and good food. Place gets busy but is not loud. Whether you're one of the locals or just passing by, leave your mark by pinning a dollar bill to the ceiling.

Small cozy tavern nestled in the corner of downtown town Ellijay is easy to miss but you don't wanna miss out. Love the dollar bill theme stapled on the ceiling and around every nook and cranny of the tavern. Love the support of local artists where masterpieces are displayed for sale. Our waitress was friendly but service was a little slow. Apparently she was allergic to the mango habanero wing flavors we ordered so only really saw her in the beginning and at the end of service. Food was good and the mahi Reuben is a must try as the unique combination actually works very well. Chicken and waffle was also good as the chicken was super crispy and tender and the bacon maple syrup hit the spot! Wings were crispy even when heavily sauced. Definitely will return for the Mahi Reuben!

1000000/10 I'm…read morehonestly devastated we can't come back tonight before we leave to go back home tomorrow. They are closed tonight. However, our dinner last night was incredible! You need reservations; if you don't have them, you risk getting turned away. It's a husband and wife running the entire place. No extra help. They want you to stay and relax and enjoy everything. We only stayed 90 minutes and they tried to get us to stay longer. Like all the reviews say, it's a very European experience. We've never experienced anything like it. We started with an old fashioned and a margarita from the daily cocktail menu. Olga welcomed us with a hug and took us to our table. She didn't stay out long because she is the chef! But it was still cool to interact with her in the beginning. Both her and her husband made us feel like family. It started pouring and he walked outside with an umbrella and held it for 2 girls at the bar. I thought that was super sweet. We ordered the salmon roe caviar and it was divine. Our second course was the oyster flatbread and I ended up being sad I was sharing it. It was that good!!!!! We were pretty full at this point after a couple more drinks. They were really busy too, so we decided to go ahead and get the check. It started raining right after we got our check, so we ended up getting one more drink to wait it out. We had the best time and can't wait to come back!

While we were walking the Arts and Crafts Loop near Gatlinburg (I HIGHLY recommend this as well), we noticed this wonderful-looking restaurant nestled away in the green forested hills across the street. We opted to come back here for dinner on our last night in the Great Smokey Mountains. Sooooo glad we did! Owned and operated by a European couple, the Red Oak has the ambiance of a quaint European restaurant that one would find tucked away in the Alps. While the inside atmosphere is wonderful, we chose to sit outside to enjoy the very quiet and beautiful forested hills of Gatlinburg. Service was incredible and very European - they told us they would not bother us unless we asked for something and that the table was ours for the evening. Yep...we stayed there for three hours, sipping our wine and trying various dishes of exquisite flavor. I'd like to say try this or try that, but to be honest: all the dishes we tried were absolutely phenomenal. We cannot wait to try this place again!

Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. Being with the family is always a warm unforgettable experience. There is something to be said about being surrounded by people who care and love so much. I'm in bliss. Until next time ...

For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.

The ambiance is classy while not being stuffy, with business casual dress code. All of the staff were welcoming and kind to us, from the hostess to our waitress to the food runners. We shared several tapas: paella verduras, Pulpo parrilla (grilled octopus), Pan con tomate, empanadas with beef, Calamares fritos (calamari) , Espárragos (asparagus), and Patatas bravas. Everything was absolutely delicious! One of my favorite items of the night was the bread with tomato (pan con tomate)! The bread was toasted perfectly and came with garlic and grated tomato to spread on it, along with a sprinkling of greens. My typical favorite at Spanish restaurants (patatas bravas) was done very well here too, with the right crunch and tasty sauces. The perfectly tender octopus came with a side of beans that I wished to ask for the recipe for because they were seasoned so nicely! The calamari was breaded lightly which allowed the natural flavors to shine. The beef empanadas were juicy and crisp. The asparagus was cooked to perfection. The vegetable paella was also filling and wonderful! We ended our meal with the toffee butter cake which was an absolute dream. We look forward to coming back for more!
