The Ameswell was recommended as a wonderful boutique hotel to host our team retreat. From the get-go, the Ameswell lived up to its reputation. From the friendly staff all around that go above and beyond, to the relaxed, elegant vibes of all the common spaces, the Ameswell is a great place to gather and refresh. The rooms were spacious and clean. Notably, the Ameswell's restaurant, The Fly-by, has very solid food. We had several meals there and loved every one. We held our activities outside on the lawn, which was perfect for creativity and movement. They also had a pool - ripe for daytime and nighttime time together. We were here with a big group for the evening. The hotel was very clean and updated. The pool was heated and there were a lot of things to do for our kids. I loved the fact that it's a dog friendly hotel, so we took advantage of it. The food at the Roger was excellent. The only thing they need to work on is the customer service at the Roger's bar. I was not told how to order food with a smart phone until I had breakfast the next morning with my family and friends. I sat down waiting for somebody to greet me and take my order. While watching the Warriors game, I waited for about 5 minutes until I just flagged somebody down to take my order. Not once since I placed my order had somebody ask me if I was ok or needed something else. I was served my food and continued to watch the game and eat my food. After I was almost done, my wife came over to join me and hopefully place an order. Again, I had no interaction with any of the 4 people who were working the bar counter. I did start to notice that they were actually helping and greeting better dressed customers who walked up to the bar. The way I can describe it is the conversation wasn't forced compared to my interactions. I was able to flag somebody down and place my wife's order. Once the server served my wife's dinner, he immediately left before I can request a glass of water. I waited and waited and just decided to wait for my wife to finish her dinner. As I waited for somebody to ask me if everything was good so I can pay for my meals (my drinks were on a separate tab), one of the bartenders approached a middle aged couple who were better dressed than me taking their order. I don't know if it's because I was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white tennis shoes that I assume I was being profiled or compared to other customers at the bar. I can say this because I just came from LA and stayed at the JW Marriott in Anaheim and did not have this issue at all for the 3 nights I was there. I want to believe this is a training issue and I really hope so because I've been profiled a lot and was not expecting it at this hotel. My wife was conversing with the owners of this hotel minutes before my experience at the bar and it sure did not reflect the service I was experiencing. Based on this experience, I'll stick with the hotel Nia for my monthly staycations, which is not too far from here. If I'm going to spend over $500 for a room, food, and alcohol, I'm definitely expecting fair service like those who were around me. I was so offended when the bar employees were only nice to other customers who probably were not a paid hotel guest like myself. In conclusion, I am a fair person that'll give a person a chance to remedy their actions with time. The problem is I was there between 1.5 to 2 hours. I was going to keep myself from posting anything but its been 4 days now and I never heard back from anybody from the hotel. read more

Stayed at ameswell for one night. After checking in and setting down our belonging, we started enjoying the hotels amenities and are immediately amazed. Truly a 4.5 star luxury hotel. The staff even gave me two tooth brush! This is a hidden gem. Gym with the right equipment and great view, free coveted plentiful parking, nicely designed room with clean and modern bathroom, and friendly service all around ( I can't speak for the service at roger that are being complains by other Yelp review here since we didn't eat there, but atmosphere seems nice). We have been to the Ameswell for happy hour, brunch and group party on the patio. We love the vibe we HATE the ordering app. Friends tried to order whiskey sour, impossible . Fortunately staff will take your order. Also HH needs to include red & white house wine $9. So will add a star when they improve the app AND offer happy hour pricing on wine. read more

Super lovely and attentive staff. Food is en pointe, nicely executed and super fresh, quality ingredients used for sure. Drinks are tasty, vibrant and wonderfully balanced - Chef really knows what he's doing. Clean and beautiful landscaping and overall design of restaurant and hotel. We've been here a number of times. Left feeling happy and satisfied each time. The only thing is their movie nights need to be better managed and clearer in their description that it's for children and not for adults. They could attract more to those fun movie nights if they marketed better. read more

Our family stayed here for 5 nights this past week and we all loved the hotel. There were indoor and outdoor activities for a 3.5 year old and also for our 16 year old. The hotel itself is beautiful inside and some really great decor (e.g. the "word" clock by the lobby... we want one of these!). The junior suite we stayed in was amazing. It was clean and very spacious. The amenities are great! The fitness center was huge and it had 3 Peloton bikes along with numerous other fitness equipment like weights, rowing machine, treadmills, and The Mirror! Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try The Mirror. The library they had was also great for quiet times in the morning while on conference calls but also had a bunch of games in there that kids and adults can play. We spent the majority of our evenings at The Roger. The food was excellent (compliments to Chef Christian and crew) and the staff was very friendly. Ordering via our phone is super easy and quick. The location of The Ameswell is so convenient to getting around the Bay Area since it's so close to 101 and 85. It was a great stay and we will definitely stay there again next time we're in town. read more

My wife & I treated ourselves to an evening at the Ameswell on 7/31/21 and we were blown away. We loved it from the moment we entered the property, with the entrance driveway beautifully lined with Californian native plants, the sound of families enjoying each other's company while playing larger than life size games, and the amazing architecture that somehow fits in perfectly with the NASA atmosphere. The rooms were very spacious and had all the amenities we needed for a an extremely relaxing stay. Our dinner at Roger was delicious and the service was spectacular. This hotel was fantastic!! The front desk is above and beyond the most hospitable I have EVER encountered at a hotel. Not to mention the gentleman who came to fix a problem with the workout mirror I had, he made me laugh and was so nice and got the job done. The meal at the restaurant was yummy. The bed is so comfortable!!! When you reserve the room with the workout mirror it states it's soundproof and it is!!!! I had a fabulous massage (ask for Rebecca!) The coffee at the coffee spot is fabulous. I was here trying to get my mind off it being the year anniversary of my mothers passing, and this stay really helped make a bad situation a bit easier. This is for the Roger restaurant not for a hotel stay. I was excited to do brunch as I had read an article about how cool this hotel is. Which from a decor standpoint is pretty trendy. We weren't able to make a reservation online because it said it was fully booked so decided to head down for a 10:30am breakfast and there was no one in there. So lots of staff around to give us a good experience. The staff are not trained well at all. The bare minimum of service offered and felt like any interaction we offered was met with a vibe of inconvenience. Certainly not interested in giving customers "an experience". Granted it is designed to give you the minimum of human interaction - when I couldn't find the black tea on the menu and when the jam didn't arrive with the toast , finding someone to help or particularly care was challenging. They came back to me and said "we don't do black Tea, we are out of Earl Grey and we are out of Jam" and offered me a herbal tea which I didn't want. The waitress did come back a little while later after I commented on how they could be out of this stuff on a weekend, she went away and came back with Jam". Then I had to go back online and order a coffee (another $4 later) I had the eggs Benedict which was decent but not very hot. My son had the Dutch baby which he described as bland. There were zero people around to say "thank you" too. Very strange. Net: not at all focused on customer experience. Big shame. I was very excited to check it out. read more

Was supposed to stay here September 23-25. Canceled on August 15 (have email to prove the cancellation). I get charged 179.10 for a no show. Naturally, I call the hotel. They tell me I gotta go through the third party I booked with. Okay fine. I call Hotels.com, get some nice help. She puts in a request with the hotel to refund me, and gives explicit instructions to call back between 1030-11 today as that's when the manager will be there. I call back, get a different guy who decides to talk to me like I'm five years old saying he can't help. I request to speak to the manager, as there's a note on my reservation saying that I'll be calling to talk to her. The person in question, John, gives me a phone number to call. Come to find out, it's a personal cell phone number of a guy by the name of Sam who literally has zero business with this hotel. Your supposed to be this really nice hotel yes? Get your you know what together and fast. I will not be returning any time soon. What a joke. read more

Been here a few times since it opened. Every time it has been a superb and great experience. The hotel is beautiful with modern contemporary decor and art pieces on display. Particularly enjoy our time at Roger's. Every time there's impressive new surprises esp the cocktail menu! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Anton in particular!!! Have to mention Anton, who makes super great drinks and is always very impressive, attentive and approachable. We always have an awesome time with him. He always manages to show us new surprises at the Roger's and the hotel. We definitely will keep returning. We heard their food menu will have more varieties and different seasonal food on rotation... looking forward to that. Highly recommend this hotel and in particular the bar. read more

Came for a short getaway with the hubby and we will definitely be back. Love the decor and cleanliness. It's nice and quiet and we were above the restaurant overlooking the pool and fire pits. Fun outside activities available like cornhole, giant connect 4, and building blocks. Maybe we'll bring the kids next time. read more

I had a really great stay at the Ameswell. Enjoyed a lovely day by the pool and a wonderful dinner at their restaurant, Roger. The food and drinks were spectacular. The rooms were very nice and were quiet and remained dark in the morning with the blinds shut - just how I like it! The Ameswell Hotel is my new favorite hotel and I wish I had more reasons to come to this area. The design choices are fantastic and the quality top-notch. Modern design can sometimes be carried out in a cheap way, but the Ameswell has taken no short cuts. While situated very near the freeway, the windows are so thick there is no road noise at all. The hotel had just opened 8 days before I held my 50th birthday party at the Roger's patio. Everything from planning the event to the day of was perfection!! They were so accommodating and made the process seamless and my party was a BIG SUCCESS! All my guests raved about the delicious food, cocktails and commented how beautiful the hotel and rooms were. The service was impeccable! We loved the hotel so much that we booked another stay this weekend. We can't wait to hang out at the fire pits and lounge at the salt water pool! Great new-ish hotel! Very clean, aesthetically pleasing, free parking, beautiful rooms. Front desk was accommodating, but a bit aloof. Location of the hotel is kind of weird though, right across the street from a neighborhood. The pool was small, but nice and relaxing. Over the mug drip coffee in the room was a real treat. The only real complaint is the walls are super thin. We heard our neighbor's tv - loud and clear. They turned it off before 10, but it was annoying at times. read more

I am writing to inform you of my less than "luxury" experience. After reading the reviews and thoroughly searching for a hotel we were super excited to book a one night stay at a hotel where we thought we wouldn't have to leave because of all the amenities it had to offer. We were having an all-girls trip and wanted to indulge for one night. Thus we chose The Ameswell. Solely based on the bar, dining, and atmosphere, as we read about. I did book this hotel off of hotels.comand when I booked I did state we had 5 people. I thought putting in 5 people meant 5 people would be accommodated. I called 3 days before arrival to see if we could check in early and the gentleman said it was no problem and we could pay a $50 fee. I also confirmed with him that we had 5 people and he assured me that it slept 5 people as there was a full sofa to stretch out ( mind you no pullout). Moving forward when we arrived at 1:00pm we were prepared to pay the $50 early check in, however the hostess informed us that it had to be prepaid and that our room was not ready and assured us the couch was not big enough to sleep on. So we waited and our room was ready by 2pm. We checked in and wanted to hit the pool and have drinks. The bar was understaffed and it took over 45 minutes to get a drink. The bar was out of several common alcohols on a Saturday ( no peach bellini, crown, ciders or titos all standard alcohol). The bartender said it was because they have been having a lot of concerts, but shouldn't you be prepared for the busy concert weekends if this is a regular thing? After the long waiting experience and choices of alcohol, we then got charged twice, our original order and someone else's $70 tab order. When we went to management to let them know they said we would have to call later to get it reversed. The bar was the main reason we booked this place and it was very unpleasant. The airstream bar trailer wasn't even opened!! I believe all this was a management issue. They had plenty of help standing around, just not staffed where it clearly needed to be staffed. We tried one more time before to get shots on the way out and again after waiting 20 minutes left without shots. I had several other things happen that were disagreeable. I was charged a $75 nonrefundable pet fee ( I have a 7lb hairless cat), which was not brought to my attention at check-in, again choosing the hotel because it was pet friendly. The room itself was small, the hot water was luke warm when turned on high, the tv did not work upon arrival. The room did not hold up to $500 for one night that we paid. It clearly did not fit 5 people. It was not a sofa couch no pullout nor did they offer roll-away. I honestly stated I had 5 people and it should have accommodated 5 people. One person had to sleep on a chaise lounge not even the length of a normal sofa. Upon leaving we went down to the lobby and they didn't offer complimentary drip coffee! We had to wait in another long line and paid $15 for coffee. I'm pretty sure Best Westerns even offer complimentary coffee. I did read on the website a $20 voucher for break which was not even mentioned or given to us. Again super disappointment for all the amenities that it had and we couldn't utilize. When people are choosing to spend their hard earned money at your hotel (there is a lot of competition out there) at least have everything you offer available. This hotel is not luxury for the $500 we paid. TO date no one has contacted me to discuss unsatisfactory. Which now leads to poor customer service and me posting my story. read more

This small boutique hotel was the perfect retreat after a hot fun day spent at Great America. Entering the spotless lobby reflected the cleanliness throughout the hotel. I enjoyed the comfort and quiet of my room. Customer service was excellent as I felt they cared about my stay. Staff was attentive in the bar and restaurant. Food and drinks arrived quickly but the quality was not compromised. I ordered the salmon, munched on the salt roasted potatoes, and ended with the caramel filled donuts. Exercising it off with the exercise mirror in the fitness center and a swim in the heated salt water pool was a good way to wrap up the weekend. Thank you Ameswell! I was at the Ameswell for a business trip for 4 nights and it was phenomenal. I arrived at the Ameswell after a long flight from S. Korea. Upon arrival, I was greeted by extremely attentive and friendly front desk staff where they checked me in, explained the open key in detail, and escorted me to the elevator. When I arrived in my room, I was greeted by a very spacious room with great amenities, and most importantly, an extremely comfortable bed! I was fully rejuvenated after a good night's sleep. The next day, I had the energy to explore the hotel and enjoy the amenities. The hotel is like an attraction itself with its unique art around the hotel, cool working areas, and great food. I had breakfast and lunch at the Fly By every day and dinner at the Roger every day. I did not get to try every dish but every single dish was impressive and delicious. I absolutely loved the working/communal spaces in the hotel where I worked each day! I would 100% come back to the Ameswell for a business trip and even for leisure as there are so many amenities and activities to enjoy! read more
