    Pornstar martini
    S B.

We stopped in for drinks and my husband ordered the whiskey tasting while I got the pornstar martini. I can honestly say it was one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, flavorful, and one of those drinks you keep thinking about afterward. Great atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying a drink.

We just finally made it to Central Coast Distillery which reopened about 45 days ago from their downtown location to the new development off Del Rio, next to the new Valley Fresh market. The owner (or manager) greeted us directly and she even checked on us later in the evening. She shared a lot of info about the distillery and confirmed they have a club similar to a wine club. Though we came in only for drinks, the couple next to us ordered the taco special ($3 tacos, offering beef, steak or halibut). The tacos looked delicious and our neighbors at the bar confirmed they were awesome. There is a large u-shaped bar (with tons of seating) as well as a number of other seating groups both inside and outside. The outdoors area includes at least a few fire pits. There is also a 'swag' area complete with cigars, cocktail recipe books, glassware, etc. They have a good drink (and food) menu that appears to include nightly specials. There is a daily drink special, which included a raspberry whiskey sour the night we went...that is what I had, while my husband had an Old Fashioned. We both really loved our drinks (so much that we had two each). The bartenders were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We are already planning our return and inviting friends...next time we will try some food also. Can't wait to learn more about their distillery club.

Stopped in for a quick drink while charging the EV and WOW! What a surprise to find the new location is amazing and better than ever. Luke was our bartender and is super personable and knowledgeable. The vibe is chill and the drinks are smooth and silky. We are ordering a smash burger, more to follow....

This place is a locals paradise - absolutely the most unassuming haven for locals and tourists alike. The owners, Anna and Eric, greeted us with a smile and warm welcome! They are such lovely, wonderful humans! We visited during a downtown sip and shop event so downtown Atascadero was packed. There were groups of people walking around, drinks in hand, wandering from shop to shop. We stopped in and sat at the bar where they have a variety of their liquors displayed beautifully. They also had a wonderful live band playing inside which was such a treat! We tasted the blue agave and ordered the jungle bird, a beautifully orange colored drink that makes you feel like you are sipping an amazing tropical drink sitting on the beach. The drinks are so so good! They also have a smaller food menu including things like steak, fries, charcuterie board, etc. The inside is rather small and super cozy for intimate gatherings and conversations. They also have an outdoor patio seating area. This truly is one of the best spots in SLO County! Thanks, Eric and Anna!

Rum aged in Bourbon barrels, 90 proof

We stopped in yesterday and found a delicious distillery hidden in Atascadero. The proprietor, Eric Olsen led us thru an interesting journey of craft spirits, military service, and hospitality! He takes a culinary approach to the making spirits sourcing through local farmers, ranchers and local fauna. While telling us a story, he took some fresh lavender rescued from his car an prepared a cocktail for the guests next to us! We took home the bottle of Rum aged in Bourbon barrels and made a cocktail called "Anne Bonny" named after the Irish Female Pirate, terror of the Caribbean; as we watched the sunset for the day.

Walking into this quaint small distillery, you immediately see the tanks. Eric the owner greeted us. We sat down at the slender, sleek bar and proceeded to do a tasting flight. First vodka, then gin, onto bourbon, and finally a whisky. The vodka is made out of raw honey. Very smooth. Something you can drink straight. But to us, the flavor remind us of an agave tequila. Not something we could enjoy on a daily basis. Next the gin. Delightfully easy to drink. Then we had the bourbon that is rum finished in a bourbon barrel. Smooth to drink but it's not really aged. Last the whisky. A little harsher, however I am not much on whisky so I am not the best judgement on it. After the tasting we had a made to order, tangerine mojitio, that was quite delicious! The tangerine was not over powering. It is a little pricey but well worth it. We ended up taking home a bourbon. Great time! Great host! Thank you Eric.

Very hospitable and great customer service! Ana was able to help us and we leaned so much about distillery in only one hour. We did a tasting and all the spirits we're smooth and unique in their own way. The only thing I noticed was that their spirits had a thicker mouth feel than I'm used to for most whiskeys, rums and tequilas. But everything was great! I recommend the rum aged in bourbon barrels and the agave spirit. Would suggest to visit for anyone in the area. Amazing service, drinks, and overall experience

Super cool little spot. Hidden gem actually. Just inside the downtown area of Atascadero. Had an old fashion and my friends had some other crafted cocktails that all looked super yummy.

Seriously the nicest people, so hospitable and Eric's stories will crack you up as he makes your drinks. The freshest ingredients & free appetizers on Thursday, with the purchase of a cocktail. Kids welcome and they eat/drink free. My 6 year old loves the royal treatment with her fancy lemonade. Cozy setting inside the distillery or hang out on the little patio out front, which is dog friendly. Grateful they are in Atascadero!

    The copper still is gorgeous!

This was a delightful experience. Just like wine tasting at a small winery, but here it's amazing spirits. The gin and the dark rum are standouts, but it's all wonderful. Friendly people and treats too!

I wish I could give more stars. The service and quality is absolutely amazing at this place. We have tried other distilleries in the area and none of them compare to this place. After coming here multiple times and having tried multiple cocktails, this is our new go to place for drinks and date nights. They even have delicious food some nights! Eric goes above and beyond to make the perfect drinks, including going to grab lavender across the street. I highly recommend the "80 dollar drink". Don't worry, it doesn't actually cost you that much and Eric will be happy to tell you why it has that name. -805 Karen

It is conveniently close to all the wineries in the area. The property is newly built, opening in Fall of 2025. Free electric vehicle hook up also! Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable. We used the pool/hot tub. I peeped in the exercise room plenty of activities for all. We didn't dine at the property, but the bar was fully stocked and I did enjoy a delicious Old Fashion one evening. My only complaint: as we stayed 4 nights there was no room cleaning and we ran out of towels and toilet paper. We were informed by staff rooms were cleaned every 3 days. Our room was never straightened or checked on and when we ran out of toilet paper I was informed by staff: "please come to the front desk as I am the only person on duty presently." I believe that this hotel would benefit by placing a placard regarding the checks on rooms, refill on towels/toilet paper and emptying of trash cans so guests are aware of the situation. Overall, we enjoyed our visit & would likely stay here again!

Update: Unfortunately, my experience changed after my original stay…read more When I later tried to extend my stay, I was told they could not honor it. At the time, I assumed they may have been overbooked and did not think much of it. However, when I returned at a later date and tried to use my rewards points for another stay, I was refused. The manager was not there, but I was told I owed money and had supposedly left the room a mess. This was the first I had heard of any issue. I was never notified, billed, or given any explanation. I tried to follow up so I could better understand what happened and pay any legitimate outstanding balance, but I received no clear answers, no examples, and no documentation. To make matters worse, my rewards points were still kept, which was especially frustrating because I had spent a significant amount staying there for multiple days while transitioning before moving out of state. Those points would have been helpful during my cross-country trip at other Choice Hotels. I understand that a business can refuse service, and I am not disputing that. My issue is the way it was handled. I was not notified ahead of time, I was not given documentation, and I was not given a clear explanation or opportunity to resolve whatever issue they claimed existed. I arrived expecting to use my rewards points for a stay, only to be turned away around 9 p.m. with nowhere lined up to go. That put me in a stressful and embarrassing position, especially since this could have been communicated before I arrived. To this day, I still do not recall leaving the room in poor condition. I was careful during my stay, and although I paid to have my dog there, I did not even bring him into the room most days. My card was on file, and I made a point to check in with the front desk to confirm everything was squared away. I also had some issues with the service during my stay. Housekeeping was inconsistent and rarely came by. When they did, items were often only partially restocked -- for example, I might receive one coffee pod but no creamers or sugar, or toilet paper would be replaced but not tissues. It was not a huge issue at the time, but looking back, it adds to the overall concern about communication and service standards. Being turned away without prior notice, proof, or clear communication was embarrassing and upsetting. I originally loved this hotel because the location was perfect for me -- close to family, convenient, and comfortable -- but the way this situation was handled completely changed my impression. I have never had anything like this happen at a hotel before, and it was an awful experience.

The venue staff put together cheap, wobbly tents together that leaked on guests & the tables. The bride had to walk down a dirt/muddy path to the ceremony site. Staff should've been covering her, especially since they had her wait on the other side of the gate before entering the ceremony site for over 15 min. The ceremony site wasn't covered at all! All guests, wedding party, bride & groom were getting soaked! If you wanted something from the bar, you had to wait in the rain. All the reception chairs were at the ceremony site. Staff started bringing them over, some staff started wiping them off since they were all wet but shortly gave up cleaning them off then told guests to get their own chairs out of the back of the p/u that was parked by the tent. The spacing for tables & chairs was a joke. Everyone was crammed in like sardines, some people couldn't even sit down due to lack of space! It was a wet, cold and windy day and NO HEATERS ANYWHERE! Everyone had to walk in the rain to go get their plate of food that was getting wet and was already very cold. Completely unappealing! They had 2 porta-potty's for the women. Unfortunately, at the very beginning of the wedding, one stall the door wouldn't lock, the other stall wouldn't flush! The wedding coordinator should try working in a different profession if this is how she handles situations! The venue staff should be ashamed of themselves! I ended up with pneumonia, and I know others who got sick from attending this wedding, which I now call a "Shit Show Wedding"! I hope whoever paid for this wedding received a hefty refund!!! We hope the bride & groom live a long & happy life together, in spite of how this venue treated them & their guests! We recently attended another family wedding somewhere else, and it was absolutely wonderful seeing how well the venue staff took care of the bride & groom and all the guests! Everything about it was wonderful!

Prospective members beware that this facility…read moredoes not honor their own membership terms- nor do they upkeep or maintain their fitness center. We were happy members of TTR for about a year and a half. The outdoor facility is (mostly) a beautiful and well-maintained facility for tennis and pickleball. The pool is great. Our dues have over doubled since joining- from $85 for a Pickleball membership for two, to now $160. I am totally fine with raising prices as amenities increase- however, TTR is not maintaining the facility. Their (already small, always dusty, and limited) fitness center has deteriorated dramatically recently, with at least one (out of three) popular treadmills out of order for the past 6+ months- including one of them for several months at a stretch with no ETA. More recently, 2/3 have been wholly removed after breaking down. I visit once a week for weight training, and we play pickleball once a week- however, I primarily maintained this membership due to the previous availability of treadmills. We clean up after ourselves and are respectful of equipment and shared spaces. In January, two of their treadmills broke- meaning that if you go to the gym, odds are you will have to either use a weird niche elliptical (theirs are not modern or appealing) or do something else entirely. The straw that broke the camel's back for us was that we politely asked to hold our membership for two months, submitting our request via a dedicated online membership hold request form- an option clearly available, with a nominal hold fee, in their membership terms. The staff, who we'd always found to be friendly enough in person, was abrupt in immediately informing us that holds do not exist (it is a dedicated request form on their own web site...?), telling us to instead terminate our membership. I shared a screenshot of their own policy, within their web page, thinking that they were mistaken or confused, to which they responded that holds are only for post-surgery or due to injury with a doctor's note. This is very clearly not the case within their own terms and conditions- see screenshot. They specify only that a hold *can* be extended beyond 3 months if due to injury, but not that it is a pre-requisite for a hold. I asked for additional clarity in where this is indicated, and for them to please revisit my request, again respectfully, and my initial question was ignored- the second attempt to follow up when ignored was met again with only the link to terminate the membership. Zero response from there, despite a final attempt. Ironically, I have an injury requiring an impending MRI which prevents me from fully utilizing the benefits of this membership- but the attitude and immediate abrasiveness from their staff left such a gross taste in our mouths that we did not bother to disclose this. What a fascinating business model, pushing your members to quit and stonewalling when asked to answer basic questions regarding your own policies. We will gladly take our business elsewhere and share our experience with others as a cautionary experience, as they seem to desire their current members do, but man, what a trip. I wholly do NOT recommend TTR for the poor upkeep of the fitness center and bizarre, poor customer/member service. ------ Editing in response to the GM, who I have also messaged directly with additional information and the offer of forwarding his staff's emails in case helpful: My dues did not increase $75 within a single month, nor did I state that they had. That increase from $85 to $160 (for a couple) took place in increments over the course of a year and a half. I had no complaints about this until the fitness center fell apart and the customer service experience revealed itself to be a disaster. Price increases over time are expected if a place is maintained properly (*if), especially with the pool opening. However- I am not going to the trouble of holding or paying for a membership in the future at this establishment considering the poor member experience and customer service experience. I did not mention my injury, because no policy available to members indicated the need to. My advice for management: Maybe invest in hiring staff that isn't chasing your membership out the door as quickly and rudely as they can?
