Great for the fact that they serve until 2 AM. Most bars are open, but do not actually serve food later. Had the Edwards Dog, pretty good. Frank is better, as is Wrigleyville, but they are better here than Pugel's, etcetera. Amazingly, the Ahi Tuna Salad was the best things for sure. Delicious. Not quite raw but nicely, perfectly seared only a little. Had it with shrimp. The Alamo Chips come with an interesting Kamala Olive dip that I have no idea how is related to anything Texan, but it was pretty good. The Pastrami Sandwich, "The Bleu Democrat" was good, but have definitely had many, much better Pastrami sandwiches. Lastly, The Al Gore Frito Pie. Pretty good, but again, nothing remarkable. Not the best bar for me. Lots of Republican political posters. The bar is very pretty copper-ish. They have quite a few specialty drinks and a nice selection of beer bottle and draught. Kicken Texan is a Moscow Mule with habanaro infused tequila. Noticed that single 45+ men were watching the game and picking up take away food. I might be back to hear Rubin V. read more

I came here with a living social. Sometimes I am skeptical to buy deals to places I don't know because I always expect the worse. OMG! I loved it! It was a pleasent surprise.The hotdogs are awesome! I jsut ate the FDR which is just an all american hotdog and it was so tasty. I washed it down with a pineapple mojito that was delicious! My daughter got a frito pie dog that she relaly liked too. Regular prices are a little pricey for hotdogs but definately worth it. I will definately be back! As most of the reviews here say this is a nice clean bar. It has a great atmosphere and the band playing that night was awesome and from what I hear there's a new band each Friday. A much needed spot to this ever expanding area which is slightly past the Rim. read more

Went here during the NBA finals, because the location next door was crowded. This business and the place next door are connected/related. There was only ONE waitress for the entire place! With that, it took a while to get our drinks, order our food, receive our food... We totally understood that she did the best she could under the circumstances, so it's not her fault. How can they understaff for the Spurs games?! We ordered food, which came from the same kitchen that served the business next door. Do yourself a favor and eat beforehand. Besides waiting over an hour for our meal, the fries were stale and the burger was an unseasoned meat patty. While you're at it, don't order custom drinks either. Michelada tasted like straight tomato mix. read more

Love this place! Low key, lots of TVs, great bartenders, super clean and the drinks are yummy! Ashley is my favorite bartender of all times. So sweet and that girl knows how to make some great drinks! Oh and the food! I think they just put out a new menu and the food is AWESOME! Not your typical crappy bar food, this is good food! Served hot and delicious! If you haven't checked out the angry elephant yet, you're missing out. Calling Jon Taffer with Bar Rescue please come save this place PLEASE!! Ok, now that that is out of the way I don't even know where to begin with this place. Menu is mainly "craft" hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, and a couple of Aps. Ordered the Kronkite dog and it was 2 hot dogs with a wanna be slice of cheese. It was supposed to be served on a Kaiser Bun but the Bun was just a plain roll that was probably the cheapest in the store. All the ingredients were cheap, I didn't even taste the Sauerkraut and there was more Spicy Brown Mustard than necessary. I probably could've done a better job cooking it! Their chips were also well done. However, Drinks were decent and came out quick. Service was okay. Server approached our table asking what we wanted when we didn't even have a Menu yet. When we first walked in it smelt terrible - like a bathroom! It was a Friday night and maybe 10% full from the patio to inside mostly an older middle-aged crowd. While this Bars quote is "like your politics, love your bar" I'm going to "love my politics and dislike this bar" sorry guys but I wish you the best of luck with this place! Don't mistake The Angry Elephant College Station for a politics-themed bar. It's just another bar. The politics is only decoration. And that's fine, if you're looking for any bar like a hundred others around town. During presidential debates they will begrudgingly put it on one TV, on mute, if you ask them, with ChiveTV and golf on all the other screens. They say they'll turn the sound up if more people show up to watch, but why the hell would anyone show up to watch if the place doesn't plan to or promote showing it like they post about sports events? And if anyone did show up, mistaking The Angry Elephant for a real politics-themed bar, they'd see the debate on mute, leave and not come back. Also during Happy Hour they charged me the full price of $6 for a well whiskey sour, which seems a little crooked. I asked the bartender about it and he said there was no mistake. Maybe that buck was worth this review. The hot dogs are good. Try the JFK dog. read more

I gave it 2 stars because the chipotle pinapple margarita was very good and I loved the political theme. But, there are some problems. 1) I know the teenagers in the table next to me were not old enough to be drinking, clearly they don't check ID. 2) 8 dollars for 8 coctail weenies? $5 for a plain hot-dog with onions? Come for the drinks, the food is clearly an overpriced after-thought. Thank God I had a Groupon. 3) The menu says the Magarita was 6.50 - the final bill charges $7.00. I took the difference off the tip. Watch your menu/tabs for "mistakes" and come on a full stomach and it will be a better experience. read more

I enjoyed this place a lot bc the live music was good. I went to see live music and it was a decent little spot for that. The booths are large and comfortable. The service was slow but not too bad. The drinks were so so. The wine selection was excellent. The Titos pickle shot was good. The atmosphere is fun and different. Too much sad country music though after the rock band stopped. There are a lot of pictures from past political figures from both sides of the aisle. We didn't eat. The only truly bad thing is the location. Getting out of there is a nightmare bc 281 is so crazy up past 1604. Don't try to drive drunk from this place, you will die. Yes you will die trying to drunkenly get onto 281 from that insane location. I'd go again though, just let someone else drive. read more

Great neighborhood bar. Have been coming here since early 2016 and it really is a friendly atmosphere. The manager Rey and the staff are very friendly. Great prices with happy hours and a good selection of liquor. They have some good bands play on the weekends. They have a good patio with some lounge chairs. Highly recommended to stop by for a drink or two. read more
