Experienced one of the best burgers ever! And how did I find this place?!!!! Through the San Antonio burger week app. What a hidden gem. We came here for lunch and parking and seating was easily accessible/available. Cori, the bartender and server gave us a friendly greeting upon entering. We sat at a table near the bar and told her we were there for the infamous Astro burger with fries. The bar/grill was pretty cool- lots table seating, electronic darts, pool table, arcade games, cool decor, and a stage for karaoke. Cori guaranteed us that the chef knows how to cook his burgers and I ordered medium doneness...and medium it was! The burger was absolutely fabulous! A good size, topped with delicious pastrami, that was not overly salted. It came with the fresh vegetables of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and crisp onion. The fries were to die for... cooked you know with a crisp outer and soft middle and had a sprinkle of some amazing seasoning. Dipped them all in ketchup too lol All this for $12 in lieu of SA burger week. I accompanied my burger and fries with a pineapple hard cider and the combo was perfect. My girlfriend and I have come here COUNTLESS times to grab a drink or two and play some games of pool since on the week days late it's usually not as packed. I have never in my life experienced the upmost worst customer service. And you can look at the footage. We came in around 1230AM ish a blonde bartender was working. No greeting. We went to the bar and ordered two electric jellyfish. However during the order its was a non friendly interaction with Teeter(name from receipt). After the order she still didn't say anything but used a hand gesture to ask if the tab was open or closed I replied closed. She gave a blank stare, from this point I could tell she was drunk. She then proceeded to not close my tab. I politely asked for my receipt to sign and she said I asked to keep it open... then looked at my girlfriend and said she said to keep it open. We were both so confused. Then it became an argument with the bartender. I simply wanted it closed and she kept asking if I would want to pay cash instead... this went on for over a minute. Another bartender or barback was there(female) and didn't help the situation . Only adding to the unnecessary hostility towards us saying we can leave if we're not comfortable or go outside... I've never in my life been treated with such disrespect. Both of your bartenders were so rude, my girlfriend was crying the entire ride home. The blonde bartender tried to say both my girlfriend and I are now banned. And during that time took a picture of both of which neither of us consented. I even had a male samaritan approach me twice apologizing saying Teeter is a wreck and in bad shape as if that somehow negates the TERRIBLE customer service and professionalism as she was 1000% drunk on the job. You can review the footage and see the male Samaritan come up to me twice apologizing. Once at the bar and again leaving the bar, and one of the bartenders goes and grabs him to come inside for whatever reason, as he was apologizing on their behalf. I'm so disappointed in tonight's experience and outcome. I've had so many good nights at Lost Bar. I really hope something can be resolved. As this was a stable bar that my girlfriend and I would often come to. It's sad to be turned off due to lack of respect and responsibility. I ordered a cheeseburger with no cheese (since there was no option for a hamburger on the menu). I emphasized no cheese about twice to my server; Jackie, whom interjected a noticeable annoyance with my "particular" order. The service was unequivocally terrible. For me San Antonio Burger Week affords me the opportunity to frequent a place I might not due to location but more importantly cost. The lure of a burger normally $15 to twenty dollars versus five to $8 is an offer I can't refuse. But often than not a special and the place offering it collide. And yes I can't chide an establishment for being philanthropic. At the same time a place is what it is and even the best intentions can't change it. I went to check out the SABW special at the Lost Bar and Grill on Northwest Military Drive. Mind you this place is in Alon, a Jewish enclave with gated communities and a boujie H.E.B. My summation is that whatever business is in this area it's going to be upscale. Before going to any place I investigate it on Yelp. I read reviews. I look at pictures. Menus. I devise a plan which probably takes out the element of spontaneity, of surprise. Just looking at the pictures alone for me creates a perception. But as I have seen time and time again perception and reality can be two very different things. I went in around 2-ish in the pm, when it initially opened. The place is really, really small with some patio seating. A really peppy server came over and took the drink orders. I wasn't expecting barrel-aged pastry stouts nor an New England IPA with hop resin that sits at the bottom of your snifter. However the tap selection was pretty non-existent. I settled on Karbach's "Hopadillo" and their SABW special. The intermittent time between ordering and when it is received is precarious for me. My mind begins to wander and I observe everything with a fine- toothed comb: setting, vibe and patrons. The place is very divey which pains me to say is too divey for this area. I don't mind a place that is gruff. I have gone to places where men are hanging off the rafters with goblets. The thing for me this bar would benefit from being more polished. Everything seemed arbitrarily positioned or just thrown on walls without any thought. For example there are collegiate, franchise team flags everywhere. Is this a haunt for frat dudes? A sports bar? Then the choice of music is odd. I say this as J-Lo and Ja Rule's collab "I'm Real" was playing in the background next to patrons who probably were Skoal dippers. Here's where my review diverges. The burger came out and wasn't so bad. Heck I was enjoying myself for an instant. By the time I reached half of the burger the vibe in the bar changed from friendly to unwelcoming. At my peripheral I could see patrons who were regulars begin to make faces. A place should encourage regulars but even they can become territorial. One started mad dogging me, another cracked his knuckles. Was it because I was a newcomer? Was it my tuxedo shirt? The strange thing was that the manager came within an earshot of my table not to extend niceties. Instead to make sure I wasn't going to stiff the ticket. A bar can make us feel many things "uncomfortable" should not be one of them. It was all the more confounding since the service and server were both good. Is the request for a "perfect experience" too much to ask for? Maybe such time never did exist. I asked for the ticket and made a bee line for the door. San Antonio Burger Week is an awesome opportunity to try a new spot and get a meal at a bargain. In my third year doing this event the burgers often supercede the said businesses. The Burger Passport is starting to look like a check off list of places not to frequent. I'll add this one. PS. I should've asked the 50-ish gentleman at the counter who looks like he is there from dusk til dawn where a good burger joint and time really is! read more

This is my go-to spot when I want to get a good drink, good food, watch a game w/my husband, or meet up with a friend for drinks! Every drink/cocktail Ive had here is delicious (try the martinis!). Thought I'd try this place out after viewing the delicious looking drink that was advertised. The ambience of the place was amazing! The bar and table area was cleaned. The restrooms didn't have any soap available to use and The Lost Bar and Grill had only been open 30 minutes. The music wasn't eclectic. However, touch tunes was available to use but when it wasn't in use only one genre of music continued to play. I'd possibly give this place another try in the near future but wouldn't consider it a go to place. I ordered to-go fried pickles. That goodness it was to-go. This place is being true to their name because they are truly LOST when it comes to covid. Cases still in the 200-300 a day range, 35% of San Antonio is vaccinated, this is a tourism city, and not a mask to be found on ANY employee or customer. Couple this with a VERY small building and tiny tables and you have a petri dish for covid, flu, you name it. If you want drinks with a side of covid you've found your location.
