We stopped here one night looking for some quick food and a beer after a trip down to Miami. TAW is in a residential area, kind of isolated, next door to a liquor store. Some people told me before I went there that it's a bit of a rough place, shady in the evening. So, let me clear this first: obviously we all have a personal idea of "shady" or "rough", but come here relax. Yes, at late hours there are some characters around mostly going to the liquor store, but zero problem whatsoever. It's a dive bar for sure, but that means it is just not pretentious, customers are real people and not "wannabees" and the atmosphere is relaxed, nothing sketchy about it. Food is better than expected in a dive bar; it tastes fresh and you can tell that they care about it. Service was all we need, I mean they are not going to be asking you every 2 minutes if you need something, but also they don't charge you 10 bucks per beer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Again, it's a relaxing place, good beer, pretty good food and friendly service without overdoing it (and normally if you walk into a dive bar you don't need "overdoing").[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Too bad the place is a bit far for us, but if we are in the area again, which we will as we often travel south of PB County, I'll stop again as this place has everything right about it.

Unless you read about this place somewhere, it would be difficult to find it: it's located on a small road in the heart of a residential area. We stopped here one for a late dinner on a weekday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was almost empty, but I wonder how the situation is with parking during the weekend: the lot is not very big.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a dive-ish atmosphere, a big bar, a few tables and also a billiard table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is supposed to offer South African specialties but I haven't seen too many ethnical dishes on the menu that day: I think this is more of a traditional American restaurant bar anyways. The food however was really good: I wasn't even hungry when I ordered the (huge) jalapeno poppers, but I liked them so much that I wanted to try something else too (we don't live close by, and I don't know when we'll have an opportunity again to stop here) - the quesadillas were very good as well. They have a good variety of beers and prices are very decent as well. The service was ok.

Fun place to eat and drink!!

I've been coming to this restaurant for about a year and half now. South African themed and South African food also and clean too!! They have live music on the weekends check out the Facebook/Instagram page for events. Cool local bar with 8 large screen TVs that show an array of sporting events, rugby, soccer, baseball, basketball, NFL, College and UFC fights.... There's a happy hour from 4-7 M-F and drink & food specials. Also, bucket specials for NFL and College games!!! If you haven't been you should stop by it's a real gem with some great local place to support your small business owners!!

What a hidden gem!! Amazing meat pies (we had the curry chicken and be warned, they do not hold back on heat/spice). Also tried the fish and chips and jalapeño poppers (with a yummy mango sauce). Unique south african food menu for those looking to try something new and loads of traditional bar food for those that play it safe. A fantastic selection of cold beer and wine. Looks like it may be a rugby or soccer bar, certainly has that warm neighborhood pub feel. Our bartender was super attentive.

It's 1am on a Wednesday night, we're starving after a long flight from San Antonio, and most places are shutting down. Enter Geronimo's Grill & Bar. At first glance, it's got that divey, don't-overthink-it look...but trust me, it grows on you fast. We got lucky snagging two seats at the bar, and right away the place felt welcoming. True neighborhood energy. Quick note for the sound guys: the music was a little harsh and spacey; speakers mounted against a boxy enclosure (probably housing electrical). Some insulation or soundproofing would clean that crackle right up. Okay... nerd moment over. Beer situation: * Modelo on draft * One with Tajín & lime, one plain * Both served ice-cold in pint glasses exactly what the moment called for... The bar staff? Friendly, dialed-in, and chill. As the night rolled on, the place slowly came alive...clearly a landing spot for industry folks once everything else closes. Total local watering hole vibes. Now let's talk food...because this is where Geronimo's really shines. We ordered: Potato skins 20 wings (10 buffalo hot, 10 medium) Hands down, some of the best wings we've had on our travels. Open-grilled, then fried to absolute perfection. Not massive wings, but the flavor and cook were on point. Worth every bite. House ranch and bleu cheese were legit too. The potato skins? Perfect balance of cheese and bacon, sour cream on the side...simple and executed right. Then... the curveball. A patron next to us orders a basket of pork rinds. We're intrigued. These come out sprinkled with Tajín, served with a Cajun ranch....and HOLY HELL. Absolute FIRE!!! . Crispy, hot, insanely addictive. I'm already scheming how to recreate these back in San Antonio. Everything hit the table hot, fresh, and timely. By round two, Geronimo's felt like home base--that bar you can count on when it's late, you're hungry, and everywhere else is dark. Bottom line: Looks sketchy? Don't overthink it. Come for the ice-cold beer, stay for the fried wings, and let the night take care of itself. Cool little spot. Solid locals bar. Wings alone are worth the stop. We definitely want to come back! Thank you Geronimos!

Lucikly, that evening was a cool night, so the blinds weren't needed. Our waiter was friendly and patient, and the food (we had wings and ribs) was great and delicious as always!

Not gonna lie, it pains me deeply to write a negative review for a Flanigan's. I've been to…read moreflanigans a million times and definitely will a million more times, but this was my first visit to this specific location and likely the last. I ordered the 10 wings lunch special. They came out super dry and with only 9 wings. I asked the waitress for more sauce and the missing wing, and she pretty much disappeared. The people I was with were pretty much done eating, and I hadn't even started because I didn't have sauce. I asked someone else to get our waitress and she still didn't come. I ended up going up to the bar and asking for sauce, and by then, my wings were cold. Our waitress finally came back with the sauce, saw it on the table, and said "oh someone else brought it?" I told her I got it myself and she just said okay. I still never got my 10th wing. She disappeared again and now our drinks were empty for a long time and we were out of napkins. Again, I went to the bar. I apologized for bothering them and explained that our waitress disappeared, and the bartender was super nice and helpful. Eventually she came out to check on us and was again surprised that our drinks had been refilled. I again told her that I got them myself. She said she had other tables, which I get, but they definitely weren't busy and the amount of time she was gone was still super excessive. Between basically waiting our table myself, the missing wing, and the dry wings, this was unfortunately my worst ever Flanigan's experience.
