Last night I met a guy at Duffy's Sports Grill for a second date. It's not really my usual vibe for that kind of setting, but I've been here several times and I do like it overall especially the drinks and the fact that they have a decent range of vegetarian friendly options. On this visit, I only had drinks since I had already eaten dinner beforehand. The previous time I came, I tried the vegetarian burger and it was genuinely excellent definitely better than what you'd expect from a typical sports bar menu. It was a Friday around 7:30 PM, so the place was packed, which felt pretty standard for the time. We were seated at a booth since there were no high top tables or bar seats available, but it still worked out fine. Our server was extremely pleasant and attentive, checking in on us regularly without being intrusive. We ended up having a couple of rounds and then moved on to another spot that felt a bit more intimate for the rest of the evening. Overall, I'd return but more so with friends for a relaxed night out rather than for a second date setting. Sadly I did not take any pictures. read more

While passing through the area, I stopped at Duffy's in The Fountains shopping center to grab something to eat. Although it was a typical Friday night, it was also Super Bowl weekend, and the place was packed. The atmosphere was filled with loud chatter and groovy music. The hostess had her hands full seating small to large groups of people and informing those coming in that there was a wait. In the midst of of the small crowd building by the entrance, I placed a to-go order for a 1/2 rack of bbq ribs & wings platter with my choice of mashed potatoes and cilantro-lime rice and beans. It was a bit of a wait, but I didn't mind. I kept myself entertained watching a sports program on one of the many TVs in the restaurant. The food was well-prepared. The ribs and wings were both meaty and saucy, just the way I like 'em. I only managed to eat half of the food. I will finish the rest tomorrow. read more

We keep searching for the BEST Friday Happy Hour in South Florida. Duffy's in Plantation is in the running. It's a GREAT atmosphere for watching sports, with so many games and TVs. The lady bartender, I wish I could remember her name, is phenomenal. The simple happy hour bar snacks are tasty. The only glitch was when we ordered Old Fashioneds at 4pm Friday and were told they were out of Orange yest. How does that happen? Additionally, our waiter: Oscar was fantastic so I did not object to the automatic 20% tip which, be prepared, is automatically tacked on everyones check. As to food, my cheeseburger was just average in quality and quantity. I ordered it medium but it arrived medium-well! However, I was happy that I ordered the crunchy Onion rings (+ $2.60) but was disappointed in the quantity served. Went to Sawgrass Mills for shopping with a friend, and decided to try Duffys Sport Grill for lunch. When we arrived we were promptly seated by a hostess. The place was full of music and lively action. There was a live DJ outside (was this because of a private party, or for Sunday brunch?). The inside is incredibly spacious, with multiple TV screens replaying football games. Everything was clean, but the furniture was slightly worn (Duffys opened in the 80s but this may not be the original decor). We ordered some wings, beer and unsweetened ice tea for starters. The wings (lemon and pepper and teriyaki flavored) were amazing! We followed with some grilled Mahi-Mahi filler and Baby Back ribs. The fish was perfectly cooked and the ribs fall-off-the-bone tender. The sides, which were French Parmesan fries and coke slaw were good, but the mashed potatoes were not good. This place always has the most personable wait staff! Our server was awesome. Kitchen service was slow, but the server was communicative and made sure we had what we needed. Food was great. I did the Caesar, someone else did the happy hour bowl with chicken and rice, we ordered fries for the table, and someone else has chicken tenders. We had a fantastic time. read more

I stumbled upon this place while walking through the plaza. I noticed they had a few specials so decided to pop on in. The restaurant was clean including their restroom! They had a few different options on the tv and I decided to sit at the bar. My bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. Whenever I needed something she'd pop over and answer all my questions. The bar was doing bogo with the drinks so I got a draft ipa and got the 2nd free for under $12 which was great. For food I got an impossible burger with Duffy's sauce and potato skins. They were able to accommodate my request of having no bacon. They potato skins were crispy on the edges and soft in the middle just how I like it. The impossible burger was also cooked well. The fries were forgettable. I would absolutely come back to watch a few games and grab a few drinks and bites to eat. read more

Came here tonight for a trivia night, which is every Thursday night from 8p - 10p. The waitress, Vanessa, was nice and had several tables and the bar was full. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the soft tacos. Both were on the table in fifteen minutes and were perfectly cooked. All of the drinks were Buy 1 get 1 Free. We ordered Jack and coke with a craft beer. They have a large inside and a nice covered outside patio. The trivia was not easy at all. It consisted of Sports, Music and History. I was recently back in Fort Lauderdale and wanted to get some great wings. I was extremely impressed by Duffy's. The menu had all the great sports bar favorites tons of good choixes. They also had great drink specials and a full menu of what looked like good choices too. On top of all that they had tvs everywhere and it was college football night. The placed was packed as one or more florida teams were playing. Tons of energy here. Service was very good too considering how busy the restaurant was. Did I mention the great drink specials. I decided to get the burger with bacon and avocado with my side an ear of corn. The burger was very good nice and juicy the mixed drink was also good too. Once arriving to Duffy's we were immediately seated to our table as we waited on our guest. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Now while waiting we ordered drinks with our waitress Vanessa and she was very helpful at first with suggestions and with that we ordered drinks while watching football. Even once my guest arrived we ordered more drinks it was then things started to go left. While we're waiting on a second round I noticed and others from my table noticed our waitress kept going to other tables. For example, it was a table of Atlanta falcons and giants shirts got their food before us and we did not order our food. So I guess she noticed she was not paying us no attention and came to our table to take our order. So once we put our order in we wanted nachos bad, but she said the chips were old. But once we received our food of what we ordered the tacos had the chips on the side. You could tell the grease was old all had to do was that. Walking in there was a smell at the front of dirty mop water. We were greeted with smiles and only had to wait about two minutes before we were seated. Our waitress seemed nice and attentive however she made a few mistakes throughout our visit, such as incorrect drink orders, no ice when giving a refill on tea, forgetting to list no onions and peppers for the philly, & missing sauce for my shrimp order. We started with mozzarella which we were giving hot sauce instead of marinara sauce for dipping, once we got the correct sauce those were delicious. The French onion soup was good. Unfortunately the Caesar salad and coleslaw both had a horrible chemical taste as if cleaning spray was on it or something. The shrimp didn't taste right either. Came here with my girlfriend to watch the football game and the food was ok! From start to finish my server Chase was awesome. I had the 2-4-1 drink special and i had ordered a Tennessee Bee Sting. I thought it was going to be a very strong drink and would have more of a cinnamon taste to it but the cinnamon was very mild. I was really impressed by the mix beverage. For the appetizer I had the Slam Dunk Nachos. I felt that the nachos could have had a lot more Content and the sriracha aioli sauce was missing from the mix of sauces even though on the menu it said that it would come with it. Bot my girlfriend and I had ordered some burgers. She had the Tsunami Turkey Burger and she felt that the burger would be very super savory but instead she felt that it tasted very plain. As for me I had the Sky Box Double Bacon Cheese Burger and I didn't like that the onions gave it and normally I don't mind onions on my burger but oddly this tome it felt off. Unfortunately, it's not my usual rave when visiting the NMB location. Ally our sever appeared extremely overwhelmed and in the weeds from the time we sat down. My friend was sitting for at least 10 minutes without being greeted. Finally, she saw Devin (MOD) walk by & asked who the server for our table was. Ally didn't seem to know what seasonings went into the pork chops and pretty much dissuaded my friend from ordering it and she instead, ordered the Mahi blackened. It was bland & had to be sent back. One of my favorite sports bars to go to. How can anyone compete with the 2 for 1 drink special everyday! The drinks aren't weak either they definitely make sure there is liquor in there. Staff is always friendly and checks up on you frequently. I love to get the boneless wings with firecracker sauce. The pretzel is always fresh and good to share between 2-3 people. Came here for drinks with my coworkers and the female bartender tonight was AMAZING!!! The Strawberry Daquieri was amazing!! You can taste the alcohol but it's very fruity (which I love!)
