I was pleased with this company from the first phone call. I felt like I was talking to Mr King's grandmother or something as she was very understanding of problem and how important it got resolved quickly. I had my family in town for a long weekend and to be frank, my sister is a little bit of a nut. She insists on laundering diapers instead of buying disposable ones. I know, it's gross,don't get me started. All I know is that the old machine we had kicked the bucket two days before she was supposed to get here and I freaked. The guy that came out had so many good suggestions I don't know where to start. First off, he said the old machine wasn't worth fixing. (oh and the three people that looked at it after for my husbands sake said the same thing) Then he went way above and beyond and connected us with another client of his who was selling their slightly used washer for a steal. He knew the washer (had fixed it for the previous family) we were buying and told us what is was worth and that there was one thing that needed to be fixed to make it perfect. All in all, we had a very new looking washer for only several hundred well spent dollars when he was finished. He even installed it and removed the old one! This all happened one year ago. Since then, when they came out for the garage fridge my husband and Chris sketched out what they thought would be an ideal laundry room for my new house we were building. My tenant said washer dryer combo wasn't drying at all. Clothes still wet at end of cycle. In the past I've had awful repair issues with Abt so will never use them again. But Appliance King was great. No part needed. Tech just fixed during one and only appointment. And also had a little "teaching moment". Thanks for nothing. Called and made an appt. Technician came and left without providing any assistance. Apparently he was offended when we asked if he could wear booties or take off his shoes. Been calling every other day and left umpteen messages - no one has returned my call from Appliance King or bothered to help me reschedule, let alone the fact that no one ever picks up the phone in the first place. I was so disappointed in Appliance King's service today. I have rebooked the appointment to clean my air conditioner/HVAC several times -- for multiple reasons, all because of the service person -- said it was raining (when it was not raining), etc. And after having the appointment confirmed both last night and this morning, I waited and waited and waited. For no one to show up. When the scheduler got a hold of the service person, he had no plans to show up for many hours. I had been very clear that I could only wait in the morning. Very disappointed. I'm very happy. Drier had some funky error message showing up. Couldn't figure it out, even after being on the phone with the Lowes Peeps and their minions. Manufacturer call was next, also useless. We called the Appliance King to arrange for the repair of our stove and refrigerator. Chris was very helpful and informative. For the stove, he was able to fix the burner which would not light. For the center grill burner which also did not light he told us what we could do to try and repair it because the part was very expensive. We followed his instructions and were able to fix the grill burner. He also repaired our refrigerator door which did not shut tightly. He fully explained what he was doing at each step in the process. Chris was very informative, working hard to help us avoid purchasing expensive parts. I don't cook very often, but recently when I turned on my oven, it began pouring out smoke. I tried the self cleaning option and again the oven was burning. There wasn't damage to my oven, but my apartment stank and I didn't know what was wrong. I also couldn't cook anything for fear that my condo would burn down. I called Appliance King and a tech (Chris) came over. Not only did he fix the problem, but he spent extra time telling me how to maintain a clean and safe oven. I really appreciated the follow through. The price was extremely reasonable. I would recommend using Appliance King for any problem. read more

He was excellent in explaining in simple terms what was wrong with my washer, why it was not working the way it should and gave me options on how to fix the problem. If I could put 0 stars I would! Here's my experience... The tech did not show during designated window, so I called to check. They got in touch with him and called back to let me know he'd be there shortly - so no big deal. What I had a problem with was that when he did show he had an ATTITUDE! He went to the wrong address and was waiting across the street, he didn't like my third floor walk-up, but the worst was that he couldn't get the machine to overheat the way It had been - despite the fact that I was telling him throughout his testing process that what he was doing was not how the problem had happened in the past and if he tried to run it differently he might see the same result I had. Instead, he tried to tell me that there probably was no problem ..."all machines pause between cycles." No kidding! Really? I've only been doing laundry for 25 years...I think I'm aware of that and can tell the difference between a normal pause and a machine that overheats, smells like it's burning, and won't run again for an hour. When the machine made a thumping noise at the end of the cycle in his test, he said it was probably out of balance and checked the bolts on the oscillator. When they weren't loose, he said "well, that's not the problem" and didn't bother checking anything else to find the reason for the noise. In the end, he left without fixing anything. Called the next day to complain that he fixed nothing - didn't even appear to try - and they said they'd have him come back out. I was fed up with this guy and requested another tech, but they said they "don't do that." so I said he'd have to come when my husband was home since I was done dealing with him. They couldn't find a time to schedule with my husband - since they only work 10-4 M-F, so ended up deciding to return our check instead. The check never showed and a couple weeks later they cashed it. Now I have to call and fight them for a refund! Here's the lesson: their techs are lazy, sexist, and rude, and the company is dishonest. read more
