So, Wifey and I always have one night out alone (the kids go out and do the same) and tonight we decided to try The Arlington. We weren't 100% sold because of some of the reviews, but still gave it a shot. We made a 6pm reservation online and were able to park in the lot adjacent to the restaurant. We were seated immediately and the hostess gave us a table by the front window. Nice, out of the way, allowed us to chat and people watch. We were initially shocked at how empty the place was for a 6pm reservation, but by the time we were done the place was packed. Out waitress came over and took our drink order (she never introduced herself, which always kind of annoys me). I ordered the Barrel -aged Manhattan (it came on the rocks though I ordered it up) and Wifey ordered The Maverick - gin, Aperol, lemon, Ginger, mint. For starters we had the Steamers special - in a white wine garlic butter sauce with grilled or charred shallots and Chargrilled oysters with spinach, panko, cheddar, and hot sauce. For our entrees Wifey had the NY strip with seasoned potatoes and I had the Crab cakes. Steak was excellent...the crab cakes were small for the price, but full of meat. Delicious Cole slaw. Appetizers were also great - my steamers were different than I've ever had because the flavor of the shallots really added a ton of flavor. Drink prices are ridiculous (they are everywhere on the island, but especially for the size of the Maverick. Food was great, service was ok (though our waitress wasn't very enthusiastic), you'll pay Island prices here, and place gets VERY loud so be aware.

Good food, good drinks and good service. End of the season not many people. Nice and quiet.

I have to say, this was our second time dining here and I was not impressed like I was the first time. The restaurant has been remodeled and looks great. They have plenty of seating, outdoor dining and a private parking lot which is a huge plus. The staff is friendly and do their job very well from the minute you walk in. However, the food was ok. I expected more for the price. They serve alcoholic drinks, portions were a good size, but some of the dishes were bland or had too much sauce and covered up the flavors of the meat. The winners were the chicken tortilla soup and the fried calamari.

The service was pretty rough. Our server never introduced herself and came off more like a frazzled, annoyed lunch lady--rushing around, clearly disorganized. She had us pay on a tablet at the table, which felt impersonal. We ended up tipping well out of sympathy, but honestly, it wasn't earned. That said, the food was surprisingly good for the most part. The crab cakes were excellent, and the salad was tasty, even though the feta cheese was clearly low quality. Shrimp and grits were solid, while the short rib was disappointing--not tender at all. They were out of one of the main drinks we wanted, and the fries tasted like Popeyes (not necessarily a bad thing). Despite everything, we actually had a blast.

Bucatini (shrimp, mussels, fish). Pasta was very thick and tasty sauce. Would get again.

Cozy and dark fisherman atmosphere. Very nice waitress. Live acoustic act in the bar. Food was very good. Abundant cocktail and beer selection of high quality. Must get the wings as appetizer, crisped to perfection (dry rub of sorts) with very good blue cheese dressing. Crab cakes very lump, some of the best. Bucatini with seafood also very satisfactory. Would return!!!

I used to eat here once a year when I come down. I would get the duck. Yesterday I got the duck and was NOT impressed with the changes to the recipe. It also came MW when I asked for it to be MR. The accompaniments of the fennel is gross and the kumquats on top were barley cooked. All in all the recipe is not good this year. And then someone had the bacon mac and cheese and the pieces were huge SOFT bacon chunks - gross. The kale Brussels salad was very good.

Food is kind of different and not a wide selection compared to other restaurants on the island. Great place for large groups and families.

Cocktails are delicious and unique. Menu is limited and quality of food not as great as it used to be. Our server was excellent.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT COME HERE…read more This was one of the most unpleasant customer service experiences I've ever experienced in my whole life. I originally had a reservation for 8:00 PM but emailed to change it to 8:30 PM. The restaurant confirmed the change in writing. Later, when I received a text confirmation showing 8:00 PM, I called to verify the reservation time and was told it was 8:30 PM. I called a second time later that day just to be safe and was again told everything was set for 8:30 PM. We arrived at 8:36 PM expecting to be seated for our 8:30 reservation. Instead, owner Fatima Basit immediately told us that our reservation had been canceled because we had missed the 15-minute grace period for an 8:00 PM reservation. I explained that the reservation had been changed to 8:30 PM, that I had received written confirmation of the change, and that I had called twice to verify it. Rather than acknowledging that there may have been a mistake somewhere, she immediately became argumentative and repeatedly questioned whether what I was saying was true. What bothered me most wasn't the reservation mix-up. Mistakes happen. It was the attitude. There was no attempt to understand what had happened, no apology for the confusion, and no effort to find a solution. The conversation became confrontational almost immediately. At one point she aggressively questioned employees in front of us about whether they had spoken to me on the phone. The employees looked visibly uncomfortable, and the whole interaction felt unnecessarily hostile. We had specifically planned our evening around watching the Knicks game there and were really looking forward to it. Instead, we spent the start of the night arguing over a reservation that had been confirmed for 8:30 PM both by email and over the phone. I've been coming to LBI for decades and was excited to support this business. Unfortunately, after the way we were treated, we left and won't be returning. The reservation error itself was frustrating, but the owner's rude, dismissive, and confrontational behavior is what made this experience so disappointing.

This, for sure, has to be the single best meal we have ever had on Long Beach Island. When we…read morearrived, we were seated promptly and were given a large table to accommodate our party of seven. Ben came straight over and introduced himself and told us some of the specials and allowed some time to peruse the menu. We knew that we had to get the children their food first for us to enjoy our meals and we ordered pasta and flounder for the girls and a cheeseburger and fries for the little boy. It's hard to imagine that a restaurant can be very classy while being at the beach and a very casual atmosphere but people were mixed in their dress with those of us who were more casual, but somewhat dressy and others who got dressed to the nines to enjoy their meal out with friends or family. We decided on the advice of Ben to get some duck confit and also some tang tang shrimp and also Nice chopped salad which was fresh and crisp and also some tacos and then we were off to the races with our entrées. We all decided to choose something different and give a little bite to each of the members of our adult party. While I had seared sea scallops my buddy had salmon. My wife chose a salad with some grilled shrimp And my buddies wife decided to have a plate of muscles that she enjoyed immensely. The staff was fantastic in that they took away dirty plates and replaced them with new ones and made sure that the kids had everything that they needed for us to enjoy a quiet and adult conversational meal. Compared to Long Island, NY the prices were really very fair and the quality of the food was very very good. My scallops were excellent and the other plates that I tried all were cooked perfectly. I want to give a special shout out to Ben, our server, for being very friendly and his demeanor while explaining the menu and offering suggestions. I really do look forward to our next trip back
