Chris Gonzales is a salesman and expect promises that will not be kept. Lionel one of their best drivers - unprofessional and will fabricate the truth Martez Phelps - manager, nice but will ignore text and phone calls Lionel the driver hired the crew and sent them to the wrong location. 10 am he was at the house, crew arrived at 4:19 pm and unloaded two things and left for safety reasons because the truck was dark Chris Gonzales was point of contact if anything went wrong and did not answer 5 phone calls and only called at the end of the day with an attitude. Martez Phelps said another crew is coming we will get the job done as promised but the second crew did not show up until the next day I paid the crew $300 since they said Lionel was not going to pay them. Mr. Phelps said he would reimburse me this amount and offered to put my family up in a hotel that night. (we did not accept the hotel since we have two dogs) Window of delivery was Thurs/Sat...they delivered and unloaded Sunday. As a gesture of kindness they did take the boxes that were empty. United is sending me a check for $100 since the job was outside the timeframe. The totals jobs was $8,767 (approx) and I got $100 back. Was told I should have hired a 3rd party to disassemble items and reassemble them. I told Mr. Phelps I would not write a review if refunds were made. After many attempts to contact him and no answer or reply I decided to write the review since again the terms were not met. Be careful! read more

Guy shows up, we discuss details, tells us he will shoot us over an estimate and never heard back. Called three times and never a return call or any type of communication. If I could give zero stars, I would. Have moved via moving companies about 10 times and they were by far the worse! If I were to list all the horrendous details from start to finish, this review would extend VERY long. All said and done, these no integrity having packers stole over $1.5K worth of goods that were easy to pocket items I wouldn't be able to have seen, even if I could watch 2-3 packers at once. Our abroad move with Armstrong was an absolute disaster! I never leave reviews but this was a must. I would NOT recommend this company. We were told we would have at least 6 packers & movers and we needed up with 2. Our calls & requests for more help went unacknowledged & unanswered!! The claims department/process with Armstrong in San Antonio is beyond substandard in regards to customer service. I have never had a customer service experience so bad as to make any type of complaint. Eight (8) months have gone by since the initial claim with routine/weekly follow-ups that often went unanswered for a month, or longer, at a time. When an offer was made, seven months after the original claim, it was haphazard, it was not definitive and it was downright disrespectful regarding compensation; a month has gone by since a re-visit to a fair and equitable offer was requested and zero correspondence has been received aside from an acknowledgment of receipt. Numerous attempts were made telephonically and through email to discuss this unjustified delay with someone in a more senior ranking position in hopes to achieve resolution; those attempts were also unsuccessful. To date, this claim is still open and pending, and the word frustration is an understatement. My advice would be to ensure your business is organized, trained and equipped to perform your mission; if remedial training, removal from employment, hiring additional personnel, etc., enables an efficient team and a amicable work environment where employees are meeting their objectives and representing your business in a positive manner, please go for it. The pandemic can only be a crutch for so long but never should it have been or continue to be an excuse or reason in relation to customer service. My hope, truly, is that my situation is unique and not the norm. My options to conclude this nightmare have been long exhausted, leaving me to consume unnecessary time, effort and energy with a review capturing my negative personal experience with a business that, at this point, I would not recommend to anyone! read more

The pictures are just an example of the total lack of respect given to my family and belongings during our move in June 2018. We hired United Van Lines / Armstrong to load and move our house. During the estimation phase, we were told we would fill an entire truck, which should have made the logistics of the move easy, since no other households would share the truck. On the packing day, the crew did not show up until late morning. They ran out of boxes and left about 5 hours later--never to return. The next day (loading day), the truck that showed up was partially full (not empty as specified and required). The driver and his crew attempted to finish packing. But we're unable to complete all packing, nor finish loading our household due to filling up the remaining space in the truck. They left around 10pm, leaving us with no idea when or if the remainder of our household would be loaded. This delay caused significant stress and additional costs due to the need to find hotels for the family while we attempted to sort out this mess. We eventually contacted someone at Armstrong, and a truck was sent to load the reminding goods and take them to the warehouse. Again, we were left with no idea when or if we would see our belongings. Let me stress that at no point in this entire ordeal were we ever contacted proactively by Armstrong or United Van Lines. After several days, we were finally able to get in contact with Armstrong to schedule delivery. They were unable to stay within the 'guaranteed' delivery window, and delayed receipt of our goods by an additional 2 weeks. Even then, the driver still showed up a day late, and around noon. Upon unloading, the driver informed his crew to dump our belongings in our garage and walk-in basement. The included pictures are just an indication of the disaster that was left in our new home. There is extensive damage and missing goods, and there are a lot of other details that I have left out. But, this review should paint the picture of how United Van Lines and Armstrong treat their customers. I cannot emphasize enough how much you should avoid Armstrong and United Van Lines. read more

This place should be flagged for complete sketchiness. My wife and I had an in-home quote scheduled with one of their reps. 6 days after making the appointment, the guy called and asked to reschedule because he was going to be "out of town" and their system didn't pick it up! If he called the next day, I could maybe understand.... but 6 days later is inexcusable and a poor reflection on their business practices. A moving company that can't get their scheduling and logistics straight is a huge red flag, considering this is the core of their business! And of course, a company that is supposed to be backed by the reputable United Van Lines had NOBODY else to come give us a quote on the day we were scheduled other than this one guy. Do yourself a favor and find a company that has a working computer system and is a tad more trustworthy with one of the most important events of your life. read more

Armstrong deserves a TEN star rating!! We have a very complicated residential move. We have four moves. We are building and have to move to an apartment. We also had to move seasonal items to a mini-storage unit near the apartment. And we required two moves to permanent storage: one to remove personal items in order to show the house and one move to permanent storage after we accept a contract. As I type, we are into the third wave of packing for the apartment move. The managers have been FABULOUS. Johnny, Fernando and Robert are extremely knowledgeable, move quickly, polite and conscientious. And their work ethic is OVER THE TOP. Additionally, their team members of Tate, Shawn, Chocolate, Jacob and Dana have terrific attitudes, kindness and respectful manners. THEY ALL ROCKED. Our sales rep Chris Gonzales and operations coordinator Schyler Blackwell have both provided terrific customer service and have answered every question quickly. The entire team have made this complicated move so much easier than I expected. I highly recommend them for any moves...and ... I understand that they do corporate moves as well. read more

Our entire experience with Armstrong was fantastic, start to finish. Chris came out to give us an estimate, which was very reasonable. As our move out of state date approached, I realized we were not going to have as much done as we'd hoped. I had a tiny nervous breakdown and spoke to both Chris and Barbara, our coordinator. They both made me feel so much better. On moving day, Miguel and Johnny arrived early and got straight to work. They are both very professional. Two local guys came to help also who were terrific. Miguel kept me informed as they headed our way and that was very reassuring. The guys unloaded us and were obviously being careful with our items. Movers BEWARE! Armstrong Relocation out of San Antonio, TX runs a dishonest operation and their President could care less. Armstrong Relocation will low-ball your moving quote, promise you an unrealistic receipt date, deliver your goods late and then ignore you if you reach out about an issue. Their employees will treat you well before you hire them, but once they sell you that's where the "customer comes first" attitude ends. FYI: Each pod they use is 300 cubic ft. At approximately 305 cubic feet, the shipping container can hold up to 2,500 lbs. That is a shipping container standard. Know the shipping standards before hiring a moving company especially Armstrong Relocation - San Antonio. As the consumer, protect yourself from being swindled by this company and ask they provide you with substantial proof that your goods were shipped in the number of containers they charge you for. You won't know if you "owe" them more than your original quote until 30 days AFTER your move too. Interesting how that works out. Armstrong Relocation - San Antonio will OVERCHARGE you and refuse to provide any evidence of your shipment. Give your business to an honest company who cares about their customers. read more

I have moved my whole life being in the military and have never seen such a poor packing job. 2 of my 3 packers were horrible and disrespectful sbout another persons stuff. I had so much stuff just tossed in boxes without a care. And not small boxes, they used the big wardrobe and dish pack boxes filled. When I opened boxes at our new house they look like someone just dumped what it was they were throwing into a box. Not neatly placed items, adding paper to fill in gaps. The girl working the pantry, basically sweeped the shelves into a box. Then dumped all the bins and baskets with dry goods which could have been neatly arranged or stacked in a box but instead I found the contents dumped out into a box with cleaners and spray air fresheners. The baskets and bins were stacked in another box entirely. The same was done on the garage and what's even worse is that they threw hand saws into a box with toys and didn't even wrap them. I cut my thumb on the serrated blade, thankfully not too deep, but that was absolutely careless and really could have been alot worse. I should have known this packing job was going to be careless when they were done by 3:30 and ready to leave. Telling me the leftover stuff in the garage will be wrapped by the loaders and driver the next day. What pisses me off and makes me sad is I know this review won't prob go anywhere and no one will be held responsible. These packers will go on being careless and disrespecting other peoples stuff. My experience went amazingly well. I would rate my driver/ move coordinator, Steven with a "5". He found a missing item of value and returned it to me. I would rate my overall all experience as a 4.8 only due to the long load day. Load time was a minor consequence to my move when compared to the care and detail Steven and his crew took with my items. The unloading I would also rate a s a "5". Chris our sales person in San Antonio talked a great line, but then reality hit. Packers arrived, one person stated he had been doing this for 35 years. Caught him kicking boxes, standing on carboard boxes and plastic totes, even crushing containers that the lids were turned inside out. Damaged was hidden. Heard glass breaking, when I got to the trailer, they lied to me, no glass broken, did not see anything. Caught one guy who took a rifle (was not to be packed), took it out of the case, hid case in construction tool box and wrapped gun in packing blanket, caught him in time. told me it was their policy. Lie We are missing a lot of items, that were stolen, we cannot even put furniture together, the "parts box" is missing which has the screws and clips. Missing a "fireproof safe box" with documents. They packed items they were not to touch in a separate room. Broke an almost 200 year old grandfather mantle clock, and one packer argued with me, did not want to unpack to find it. I should have kicked him off my property then. He also smelled of marijuana smoke and when I tried to get close, he would take off the other direction. they must have thought the dryer was a trampaline, as the top is caved in, the drum will not turn. This is only the start. It is obvious they do not drug test or do criminal background checks on their workers. Now 3 weeks later, still have not heard back from the claims person. May have to get a lawyer. read more

After one of their contractors (Gilbert) allowed one of my family members to smoke in a rental truck, he charged him $350 once the job was completed. Seems like he did that so he wouldn't have to pay him. A company that can allow someone thats a representative of their company to rip off its employees and illegally hold pay is crooked.
