Sometimes waited a half hour once we pressed the button. It takes weeks to get any laundry back and that's if comes back. Your loved one never has the same aids so no one knows what's going on. I had to tell several people that my dad is not verbal and does not know how to use the call button a few times he wasn't even checked on. There were a few good people there but again they are overworked. The food is horrible, never warm. It's never what they say it's going to be on the calendar. It's very dirty and often smelled of urine. We made a couple attempts to let them know how upset we were but management never followed up. I would LOVE for cooperate to leave their loved ones here and they would see how they like it.

Had the unfortunate experience of being a patient at their Whetstone facility. They cannot keep…read morehelp. Seems half the workers are temps in the nursing staff as well as other areas. Most of the employees are overworked or just don't care. The food is atrocious when the kitchen is open. Again employee issues. When it comes to issues, medical or otherwise, you are at their mercy. An issue arising after Fri afternoon is generally neglected till Mon as everyone of any consequence takes the weekends off. Don't expect to see a real doctor, just won't happen. The building is old and not maintained. Had the Air go out in 80+ degrees for the weekend because it was never cleaned. The only part of the staff that is of help is the Therapists BUT they insist in overlapping the two types of therapy so they can both bill for the same amount of time. Sounds fraudulent to me... I can go on but suffice it to say, Stay Away!

My father died after one week at Altercare of Hilliard. His last words to me, which will haunt me…read morefor the rest of my life, were, "They never come! I call and they never come! I need to try to sleep off this stress." I gave him a couple of hours to sleep, then called his room. No answer. I called the nurses station. No answer. About an hour later, his nurse called. She said, "I found him unresponsive." According to her, staff members and EMS tried to resuscitate him, though his autopsy did not note any signs of CPR. "What do you want us to do with the body?" was the next question. I was not at home, so I told her I'd have to call back in a little while. A few minutes later, another call from an administrator, "What do you want us to do with the body??" I was on my way back home and told her I'd have to call them back. The level of attention you receive once deceased is astonishing. In the days leading up to his death, he had complained to the staff about their unresponsiveness. It would take over an hour for a transfer from his wheel chair to his bed. He ended up developing an abrasion from sitting too long. Aides would apologize and say that they were fighting against frequent staff shortages. All of this falls at the feet of the administration. CEO Greg Colaner, I'm looking at you. Do better. My father died of a heart attack while under tremendous stress caused by an unresponsive staff. Please spare your family members from this facility. I wish I had.

In the 24 hours he was there they missed his meds and didn't even offer him his inhaler. This was just the beginning he also smelled of urine, his bed and clothes were soaked from his accident. He had called for assistance and the nurses didn't respond. There was one nurse that helped me get him out of bed into a wheelchair and brought fresh linens her name was Christy but it takes more than one great care giver for a facility like this.
