Crispy pot stickers! Eat them now, don't leave in a to-go bag to get cold and flabby.

We tried the potstickers (5/5) and egg rolls (4/5) and they both came out golden brown and crispy. Other reviewers, perhaps having failed to learn about how condensation works in science class, gave these menu items a bad report. Eat in and enjoy them hot and crispy! Service was fast and they hustled to bring my wife's vegetable chow mein (4/5) and my massive plate of combination fried rice (5/5). I had enough left over for another full meal. Several beers to choose from, including a Lagunitas IPA. And of course the rooster Sriracha sauce was there for customers to add heat as desired.

***USP: Wouldn't call it a fusion restaurant but they have a large menu covering items from Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines. ***AMBIANCE: Bare bones ambiance, a partly open kitchen at the entrance. Lot of take out containers, plastic cutlery stashed on a table at the entrance which opens up to a fairly decent sized dining room. ***FOOD: Most of the food was middle of the road. The fresh spring rolls were not built properly, and were falling apart. The kungpao chicken had a lot of soy sauce and was very salty. The curry tofu had the typical western style "curry " powder with carrots and peas. Overall, though I didn't fall in love with the food, it was sufficiently decent.

The Great Gal is away and I didn't want to cook tonight, so ordered Take Out tonight from the Asian Cafe. I'm by myself and Holy Toledo, the size of a mixed chow mein and toasted wontons would feed four people and I basically spent $21. And more importantly, I enjoyed the chow mein big time. The won tons were a bit oily so I held my rating at a Four. The young man serving was polite and cordial, but I did not catch his name. If you want a basic, and filling, Asian meal, this place is worth the visit.

Food is delicious and fresh. Large portions too. Employees noticed we were sweating from a ride across the hills and they gave us a large fan to cool us off! Would come back again!

Apologies that it's half-eaten, but this is the yummy chicken Pho from today.

We are just visiting and love vietnamese food. They were closed on Sunday so we waited until Tuesday when they were open. It is a very cute, standalone building with a patio in front as well as in a courtyard. It wasn't busy to so we were seated quickly. They had weekday lunch specials at great prices, which included reduced prices for Pho, so I got the chicken Pho. Generous portion, good broth. My husband had the beef Pho and which he enjoyed his as well. Highly recommend!

Conveniently located right along Highway 4 as you're heading through Murphys, the Asian Cafe was a wonderful way to end our day in the area. Having hiked all day, it was time for an early dinner. There is a private lot and the building looks unassuming from the road. Upon entering, we were greeted right away and got to choose a table. There was a gentleman serving the whole dining area and dealing with take out orders. He was incredibly nice and efficient, Got the veggie egg rolls and Kung pao tofu with veggies. Nicely flavored, not too greasy and generous portions that allowed for leftovers. Really good food and pleasant dining experience. The spacious seating area was rustic but clean. I can see this being a regular stop on my visits up Highway 4 in Calaveras county.

Went for dinner on the weekend and the place was pretty empty. I think most people do take out. We enjoyed everything we ate except the hot and sour soup (we accidentally got a bowl and that was huge!). Both the hunan seafood dish and the honey garlic shrimp were very flavorful and filling. I would like to go back to try other dishes but I think next time I'll just do take out. The ambient inside felt lonely and the dinning area has a strange smell.

Our go to place. Great food. Great service. Clean inside. Can't wait to go again. We mostly order beef PHO. We also like the chow mien and Hunan beef. Give them a try.

Fusion style Vietnamese and Chinese food . Each dish from the various countries they represented tasted better than the countries from where they originated. My shrimp in lobster sauce was delicious and spared me the gooey consistency found in many, if not most, Chinese restaurants. My wife had chicken fried rice and our friends had sesame chicken, egg fried rice and Kung Pao shrimp. We all shared and everyone got into the car fully stuffed and we had leftovers to take home. Great prices too.

Try garlic chicken/ combo fry rice extra green onions /pork chop suy/ egg flower soup/ beef pho lol

Upon entering we were greeted and invited to sit anywhere. I went with my husband, though there wasn't a lot of two top seats, we made ourself comfortable in the corner. Staff was friendly, though i'm not sure why even have 3 wait staff on when patrons put in the order themselves on paper. waitress just grabs and goes. I enjoy having conversation and feeling taken care of at a restaurant, this provides a disconnect and makes things off putting. Menu does not have prices. This is concerning as a patron and dissolves the little trust built. Taro Ube Boba was amazing, although the consistency of the boba was starting to get gummy. it was towards the end of the day, and happens at most restaurants. 5/5 We ordered the octopus balls and were accidentally given the gyoza - it was pleasant. Although seemed to be a bit watery from the boiling process. However nothing to write home about. This item was not on the final bill. 3/5 octopus balls had nice flavor. those unfamiliar may complain about the strong fish but that is how the dish is prepared. I wish it was prepared with a firmer cook, as it basically disintegrates the moment it enters your mouth. I believe the correct cook should allow you to take a single bite without it collapsing. 3/5 pork belly ramen: a single piece of overcooked and grey pork belly. Dry as the desert. all items seemed to be purchased from savemart next door. the single redeeming item in the entire bowl was the marinated shiitake mushrooms. 2/5 the most unfortunate part of our meal was the poke bowl. incredibly regrettable with zero redeeming qualities. i specifically beg everyone not to order the shrimp. This must have been a 91 count. Tasted like a wet freezer. Gave my husband and I the heebie jeebies. -10/5 i'd be embarrassed to serve this at my restaurant. I am a huge asian food enthusiast and that's why I beg everyone to avoid this place. There's a sign on the wall saying it's been rated top 100 Ramen spots in california. that is either some crazy joke or they are number 100.

My wife and I stopped in after our jog along the Tidewater Biketrail, making this our lunch pit stop after starting at Lathrop Road. The Char Siu Pork Bánh Mì is an easy 5/5. The baguette was fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. The char siu pork was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized around the edges. Crisp pickled carrots and daikon, plenty of cilantro, and fresh jalapeños brought everything together. It's a well-balanced sandwich with a portion that's just right. The Grilled Chicken Roll'd deserves more attention. The grilled chicken reminded me of a flavorful chicken satay, and the peanut sauce complemented every bite without overpowering the fresh ingredients. If you're looking for a lighter, protein-packed option, this is it. They also offered complimentary strawberry and passion fruit refreshers. They were a little sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were refreshing. Next time, I'd order one at 50% sweetness. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and a welcome escape from the Central Valley heat. Service has always been friendly, and it's the kind of place where both the staff and regulars make you feel welcome. There's also a Tracy location, but I find myself coming back to the Manteca restaurant. It's smaller, more intimate, and has a charm all its own. They have a great variety of food and drink selections. There is usually a waiting list, and when we arrived, the restaurant was already packed. We only waited about 5 to 10 minutes to be seated while they finished cleaning a table for us. The restaurant itself is pretty compact, so wheelchair accessibility might be difficult; you would have to squeeze through, as there is limited space. The customer service was okay. While they took our order in a timely manner, getting water refills was a bit lacking. I understand they were busy, but for a restaurant that stays this packed, providing a pitcher of water at the table would be a convenient fix if staff can't keep up with refills. I think adding that small touch would make this place even better, especially since they attract a high volume of customers and serve such high-quality food. Customer Service: 6.5/10 Food Review: * A9 (Chicken Wings Lemon Pepper): These were so good and crispy--my girls absolutely loved them! The portion size was great. They were very flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning. Lemon pepper can easily become overpowering if it isn't done right, but this seasoning was absolutely perfect. Rate: 8/10 * B1 (Pho Rib-Eye Grilled Beef): I thought it was very interesting how they served the grilled rib-eye beef on the side. It was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and tender, which made for a great dining experience. The broth was good, too. Rate: 7/10 * B3 (Pho Special w/ Combo Oxtail): This was my pho, and I loved it! The meat and oxtail were super tender, and the meat came off the bone so smoothly. I completely devoured all the protein, which rarely happens for me. The broth was amazing. Rate: 8/10 * Brown Sugar Cinnamon Milk Tea w/ Boba: To be honest, I had never tried cinnamon milk tea before and decided to give it a shot. It was just okay for me--it actually reminded me of Fireball alcohol (yuck!). It did start to taste a lot better as the ice melted and diluted the cinnamon flavor, making it less overpowering. Rate: 2/10 Overall Experience: We had a really good experience here. Even though the surrounding location feels a bit rough around the edges, the food itself was amazing. The customer service was decent, and the prices were reasonable. I'd highly recommend that anyone in the area check it out--it is definitely worth it! For parking, there are spots available in both the front and the back of the building. The back can feel a little risky since it's set up like an alley, while the front parking is right by the main road. There isn't a ton of parking space overall, but we were able to find a spot just fine.

Our next option was to check Yelp and this place looked promising. It was just about a couple of miles away and had plenty of good reviews. We drove down the main strip and headed to our alternate destination. It's located inside a weird-looking interior strip mall that has a separate shared restroom with the rest of the businesses contained in the building. The restaurant staff wasn't too welcoming upon entry as we got seated and service was as warm and hospitable as the weather outside. We ordered a Calamari ($15.50) for appetizers, and we each got a Combination Pho ($18.50). I chose to change my noodles to Egg Noodles (which I typically do at other Pho places) and wifey opted for the Flat Noodles. (More commentary on this later). I know prices have gone significantly higher since the Pandemic and with the recent tariffs, jacked-up inflation and all other factors beyond our control, I typically don't bat an eye now with the cost of how much everything is worth nowadays....and expectedly so. The server didn't even mention that it was gonna cost us extra to change the Rice Noodle to our preference of noodle. Although I noticed it way after as it was stated on their menu (shame on us for not reading), it would have been nice if the server provided us with this info. As for the food, the Calamari was so-so and inconsistent. Some pieces were crispy and some pieces were soggy. The coating was very doughy and bland. They were also cut very thinly and lacked the snap. The Pho was basic and uneventful. But the worst part of the food was the garnishes. These were still soaked in water they there were literally dripping water on the sauce. Did they just grab them from a container, plopped them on a saucer and didn't even bother draining the water on a dry rack? You can see the pool of water left on the saucer plates. And I mentioned the warm service earlier. It was hard to flag down a server as they kept passing by us and almost felt like they were ignoring us even though we would wave and raise our hands as they delivered the food to our surrounding tables in an attempt to get their attention. They weren't wearing blinders, but it felt like they were. Also....don't get me started when patrons receive their orders first even though we placed our orders prior to their arrival. Yeah....I hate it when that happens. Lastly, let's backtrack on my commentary on the pricing. It was a sticker shock when we received the bill since I didn't realize it cost extra to replace the noodles (even though it's stated on the menu as I realized later on). It would have been nice if they server mentioned this, but service was lackluster from beginning to end.
