It's a 3 star building and a 1 star for management with no community. From your doorman to your River 2 River Realty, Inc management. They give tours almost everyday. So they have rooms open... you will see. $5,500 for a 1 bedroom apartment. $1,300 to "rent" the wall. $400 wall removal fee btw. $295 cleaning fee. Even though they did not clean ours & responded with, "The maids are indeed human & at times there can be a few things that they miss" See photos attached for what they claim as a few things missed & still charged us that fee. My roommate cleaned the washer and it still smells of mold, leaving our clothes in a moldy odor. Some of their doorman that care make a huge difference. River 2 River Realty.. if you ask other high net worth realtors they know of & speak poorly of Dan. It makes sense for they are aggressive & unprofessional. There is a negative review about Sabrina though, but she seemed to be attentive, responsive and did her job well. I had one interaction with her. A mandatory cleaning fee of $295 is ridiculous because our apartment was disgusting when we moved in. My parents (in a diff building) are in a PH 3 bedroom apartment and the cleaning lady costs $250. Make it make sense. Our Kitchen draw is broken and they came in and painted over it, it still does not close..."luxury & finest".. but its average. Managements actual response to us asking them to waive the cleaning fee because of how we received it, " To go backwards and debate something from nine months ago is something that I'm not willing to engage in nor is the building." River 2 River know how they are selling you to live here. We told them several times our washer smells of mold, it is extremely loud and does not clean our clothes properly, managements response with the president CC'd on our emails as well (no care from Dan either), "Washing machine works and we were going to replace it earlier for you as a courtesy." AS A COURTESY? If you need to commute out of the city every day from the NY waterway, I can understand why you are choosing this place. If not, this location is not convenient. It's a 20 minute walk to the subway & you are ON 42nd street. The location is gross & even the walk to Hudson yards is not scenic by any means. Hudson yards will take years to become what it is trying to become. The Chinese embassy protests every single day right across the street. Our oven broke and we were without one for more than 20 days. We asked multiple times for them to remove the nails out of my roommates vent when we moved in. The gym is small with one or two real machines & outdated. There's no pool. Pet Friendly. There is shit all outside their building. No one picks up their dog's poop. There is no Dry cleaning business in the building. There is one directly across the street but has terrible reviews. Fully landscaped?... twice a year maybe 3 times? State of the art fitness center? Research around & do not let them be so aggressive. Etc.. "you have 72 hours to make a decision." The apartment we moved in to has same layout as the video they showed but ours was run down. The windows and ceiling level are an enjoyment but they need to be washed on the outside. I will say we can not hear our neighbors when we are inside our apartment and you can't hear your neighbors above you. That is nice. The half bagels/ half muffins in the morning is a nice touch. Although one resident takes all of it at 5 am. The Barbecue grills? lol. Think about it. Elevators that are never working? At least they have 4... No amenity fees because they do not really have amenities. Ask them to show you the movie theater. There is no way you would pay extra to sit in there. Also the AMC on 42nd is disgusting. Back to the location, again you're most likely waiting 20 min for a bus. If you don't mind, you don't mind. My roommate wanted to see what the next lease would cost. Raised the rate by $100 & when we asked again for them to remove the cleaning fee.. we fought back. Their responses were absurd. "We will get you a new washer if you confirm renewal" we're not dumb & we were not going to stay anyway. The idea that we are somehow being "done a favor" by River 2 River and Atelier providing us with new appliances is misleading. The oven was broken and the washer needs to be updated. Management's lack of transparency and dismissive handling of these concerns is both unprofessional and frustrating. Their advertisement online is faulty & misleading. There is nothing pristine about this building, there is no excellence. One of the finest places? No. Ultimate luxury experience? See photos. "We guarantee that our building conveniences and amenities will provide comfort beyond even the finest hotels in the area"... I mean I should have asked what hotel they are comparing too. They will tell you that this was a one off, blah, blah but considering their rating, other reviews and simply the owners responses to those reviews says enough. read more

I've been in this building for a year now and the overall experience has been positive! Definitely re-signing a lease for next year. I think it's important to manage expectations, though, so here's what I wish I had known a year ago: this building is an AMAZING hidden gem if you're a recent graduate/young professional who wants some luxuries (in unit w/d, elevator, rooftop) for a lot less than you'd pay in other buildings. Some of the negatives include lack of cleanliness, and while most of the staff is super nice, other less so (Alexia can be difficult to reach/a bit rude). But I'm sure the job isn't easy so no blame in the game! If you're looking for true luxury/are an adult with a lot of money expecting top notch amenities, looking at other buildings might be better (like if you want a luxurious gym, a pool included as part of the building, generally more clean lobby/elevators etc). I get the impression that most of the other residents are either recent grads or people in their 30s/40s who want to act like they live in luxury but can't afford it. But I digress, because as I said -- you get more than what you paid for, overall it's great, and for the price in Manhattan, you can't beat it. I had tour with leasing office last weekend and had a very bad impression of the building. 1) leasing staff was very rude and unprofessional. She doesn't look like want to show me the tour. Her name is Alexia. 2) the building looks very old and dark inside and not maintained well, although it was built in 2007 and supposed to be new. 3) Amenities are very limited and rusted. Again, it's very clear they never renovated the common area since 15yrs ago. Although the rent is cheaper compared to other buildings, but I recommend you to think through before moving in. read more

Anytime I hear about luxury buildings in NYC I hear that The Atelier is the place to be. I had to check it out for myself and it is definitely worth the hype and lives up to its reputation. I was instantly met with a big smile from the concierge, and shortly greeted by the leasing/sales team. They took me to the nicest rooftop I have ever seen followed by some nice spacious apartments. The amenities are all included as wells that was a huge perk. I don't currently live in NYC but if I ever make my way over this will be the first place I apply to. Absolute SCAM! I went to tour an apartment based off the photos online.... the apartment was NOT the one in the photos and the man who showed it to me admitted the photos online weren't even from the same type of Unit! Thank goodness I wasn't renting from out of town without seeing the unit first.... I would be shocked... not to mention the common areas were filthy! read more

What a lovely building! First impression is how large and open the lobby is... feels like I'm in Miami. The doormen/concierge are always so upbeat, nice and receptive as well! My favorite part of this building is for sure the dog park. Not having to leave every time my little guy needs to piddle makes it very convenient. I work from home so the office center here is so nice as well. To add on top of everything, there is a tennis court in the building and since amenities are all included I don't have to pay $250 an hour anywhere else in Manhattan to catch a tennis session... 5 stars from me!!! read more

I now live here in the Atelier Condo since 05/2012 (southeast corner). Coming from Germany I cannot really say whats "awesome" and whats just "okay" but the Atelier Condo is a very modern building which was just built in 2007 with a lot of amenities. We saw over two dozens of apartments and I have to say that just a few apartments were as modern as the Atelier where we live now. Most others had really old gym equipment, very small rooftops and weren't that well maintained over the time. AMENITIES The list of amenities is long! The house two rooftops - one on the lower rooftop (3rd floor) are two BBQ grills, a boccie field and a outdoor playground for kids and a convertible tennis / basketball court. On the upper rooftop (46th floor) you have free wifi and a billiard table as well as a modern gas fireplace and several chairs and couch's. Outdoor you have two recreation areas with beach chairs and tables to lay in the sun. There is also a modern gym which was just modernized in 2013, a business meeting room with fax/printer/etc., a playroom for children, a yoga/fitness room, a cinema room and a swimming pool. On the 1st floor/lobby there is a a valet which stores your incoming post boxes and offers clean & repair service (cleaning shirts, repairing trousers, etc.). APARTMENTS The apartments itself are very modern including a modern state of the art kitchen from Bosch with dish washer, fridge with ice maker, oven microwave and everything you need. The apartment also has its own washer and dryer. So you do not need to go for a walk through the house to wash your stuff on the floor or the wash room - what is really comfortable. For installations as well as simple repairs we have a helpful and pleasant team of handymen. They fix and/or repair everything i.e. the waste disposer, bulbs among other things. The bath rooms are very comfortable. The toilet lids are going down smooth (so not the cheaper ones). The shower head itself offer three modes of water supplying (including a massage option) and is offering a huge mirror with mirror lights and a wall closet (for perfumes, medicine, among others). SUBWAY & BUS The high rise itself is well-tended and - due to the fact being on the 42nd - you can reach nearly everything in minutes. The mta bus 'm42' (crosstown) has its start/end station at the Cruising Line at 42nd&12th. From this depot also the mta bus 'm50' starts/stops which (as the name says) goes up to the 50th street going crosstown and ends at 49th&1st. The Port Authority is on 42nd btw. 8th&9th where you can catch nearly every bus line you need. Also the Pen Station is not far away and just one stop away from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. NOISE / TRAFFIC Living on 42nd&11th you have the advantage not to live in the middle of midtown where its just loud and the air is dirty and you are smelling the exhaust gas pollution. So you can easily open windows in summer (and if you like also in winter) to get some fresh and clean air. Even living on 42&12nd Avenue you don't hear any noise from the 12th Avenue (which becomes the Joe DiMagio Highway on 57th&12Ave). SHOPPING FACILITIES In 12/2012 a "7up" (small shop i.e. a Deli) opened at the corner of 42nd&11th. In the "Silver towers" on 42nd btw 11th&12th there is also small Deli. Another very large and newly opened Deli is on 42nd&11th which offers everything you need including fresh sushi, bread among other things. You also find a tailor on 42nd btw. 11th&12th as well as a good Pizzeria on 42nd btw 11th&12th next to our building. The next CVS is on 42nd&10th, the 'Food Emporium' on 42nd&10th and a Duaneread on 42nd&8th, the next Starbucks is on 43rd&9th. So you find everything nearby. UPS also has a customer store on 43rd&11th as well as FedEx on 42nd&11th. USPS offers free package pickup at our building. read more

Loving my apartment more and more. I moved in five years ago and though I've gone through times where I wished I was closer to a subway, I now couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The doormen and concierge are genuinely nice and always cheerful and happy to help with anything. They make this place really feel like home. The amenities from gym, valet, dry cleaning, packages (even fridge for when your groceries come and you're not home), awe-dropping sky lounge and tennis court make this place feel quite posh. The art is updated every other month and there are always huge fresh flowers or seasonal arrangements in the huge modern lobby. Being so far West is actually a great thing. Why? 1) You are right next to the Hudson River Park. Less than 200 steps away is a great casual outdoor spot where you can get burgers and watch kids play in a cool water installment they seem to love. 2) You can ride your bike, walk or run on the path that goes all the way down the West Side. It's one long stretch of beautiful piers with wifi, happy people and summer events. 3) The neighborhood keeps getting better but the prices are still holding steady. The new Citi Bikes are right on the corner of 42nd and 11th. There are a couple new great restaurants nearby and a nail salon right across the street where the (clean, nice) playground is. There is a new grocery store just opening this week on the same corner. New construction next door is likely to bring even more. 4) If you drive you can easily hop on the West Side Highway and get downtown quickly or hop on the highway towards Jersey or CT. 5) Because of the great doormen and abundance of high-rise buildings in the area, you can almost always get a cab right outside your apartment. Trust me, this is a great perk in the winter! 6) The people who live in the building, and the neighborhood, are nice professional people. The Espace location next door seems to bring a lot of gala events to the area and overall I feel like I am living somewhere rather swanky yet friendly. 7) Freebies: Free across town bus in the morning, Free pastries & bagels in the morning. This review is definitely biased since I live there but I just thought I'd throw in my two cents as it's a great building for anyone considering to buy or rent and not sure about the far West location. read more

The place was too far west to walk. They made me wait in the lobby and the guy who came by told me there was no available unit to show so ended up showing me this tiny crappy occupied one bedroom, was so depressing and that was in the $4300-$4500 range but he has a friend who can show me other apartments in the city. Do you think I walked 20 minutes to get to 11th avenue in the cold weather so you can recommend a friend who can show me an apartment in price range because your building is in the high end range?!! Rented a unit here for 2 years. I have experienced better service in other condominiums. Management runs on a delay, sometimes the doorman opens doors other times he prefers to chit chat in the lobby. I used to live in Chicago and my doorman would always catch residents a cab, assist with groceries, open doors, etc. But here that is not the case. The valet services have on occasion messed up my laundry (couldn't even get an apology out of them). The building turned an apartment into a new gym. It's not as nice as the old gym, but it's free, so that's nice. So service-wise the building could do better. I'd give it 2.5 stars. The staff do a great job of keeping the place clean. The super is really friendly, and always comes whenever you need him. The units are well built, and very well maintained. The quality of the apartments is great. The noise between neighbors is practically nonexistent. read more

unsafe elevators and unprofessional staff. Stuck in elevator for over an hour today. Elevator's communication system not working...after ringing the bell for over 15 mins, staff finally arrived. They said they would call fire department but they did not. They told me this twice, they LIED. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUILDING UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING STUCK IN ELEVATORS!! One of the nicest lobbies I ever been in. It's neat, clean and I love the art work that is displayed. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. The Atelier also has great amenities - skating rink, gym, a lounge, dry cleaning services and a garage. I have been in a few apartments and they all have new furnishes and updated with newer appliances. Dan Neiditch and the sale/rental team are also an amazing fit to the building and have been so informative and helpful with purchases and rentals. read more

Viewed four apartments. Half the lobby was taped off, workers' tools were strewn around and there was a pool of dirty water in one corner (!) Asked what was going on and the broker just said "exterminators". Great! Got plenty of time to view the lobby during the 20 minute wait for the broker... and it's got a cheap, tacky feel to it. Elevators likewise, everything has been done cheaply and shoddily and seems to be falling apart. Apartments were no better: tiny, depressing and incredibly cheaply finished for the price. A one bed for $3700 must have been all of 500 square feet, with a miserable view of the UPS building opposite. An extra $300 got a slightly better view, same grim little apartment. At $4500 you get floor-to-ceiling windows and an impressive view, still a pretty tiny space. Simply not worth it for the location (11th Avenue in the forties is an absolute dump), if you want modern high rise living do yourself a favor and go to Lincoln Square. read more
