Coffee time at The Attic & Coffee Mill was perfect!!!!! That place has so much charm and character. I had a smile on my face from the moment I stepped inside. They had so many goodies to choose...cinnamon rolls to special specialty toast to muffins, different flavors of coffee and specialty coffee. We got there in perfect time because by the end of our coffee time this place was packed. So this must definitely be the place to be in Madison. The staff was so nice. We ordered biscuits and gravy, a piece of toast and the Berry Good Toast with an iced coffee and a cup of house coffee. The gravy was a spicy milk gravy that would make any granny proud. My Berry Good Toast was so delicious. It was multigrain toast with a thin layer of strawberry cream cheese, a drizzle of honey strawberries, and blueberries with a angel kiss of powdered sugar. It was perfection. My coffee was robust and the much needed pick-me-up. My friend purchased a coffee mug to remember our time in Madison. I will cherish it always. I love this place! read more

This was my favorite food stop during our trip through Madison. This place is so adorable, the staff were friendly, and the coffee was delicious. We chose to stop here just from how cute the outside was! We stopped here a little after 2pm to see if we could grab some coffee and lunch. They had already stopped serving lunch, so we decided to get some dessert. Inside the shop is some cute knick-knacks - nothing I was compelled to buy, but still cute to look at. I understand that they are taking a lot of COVID precautions, but even still, I couldn't believe the amount of space they had and the lack of tables they had. Seems like they just want to be a shop where you buy things and leave. I ordered one of their daily brews. I switched my mind while I was paying to the other daily brew. The man behind the counter said he had already filled up half the cup before I changed my mind, so he filled the rest of the cup with the other brew. Very odd & humorous. On a day trip to Madison, we stopped by The Attic for lunch following a tour of the Lanier Mansion. I was looking forward to trying another option off the menu and hearing what my vegan friend thought of her selection. My pal opted for the spinach veggie wrap minus the cheese. Her wrap was fairly basic, but she said it was tasty. I went with the tuna melt (subbing swiss for cheddar cheese) and a blueberry iced tea. I loved their tuna salad! The herb mayo and champagne mustard create an incredible flavor combo. The multi-grain bread was a nice compliment for the filling. I also enjoyed the Rothschild raspberry salsa that comes with the side of blue corn chips. I've resisted their mind-blowing selection of desserts on the last two visits. Great coffee. I used to come here as a little girl with my mom. I don't know when the new owners bought it, but they seem nice. Some of their employees act like spoiled brats, but the regular workers are great. I watched a teenager have a meltdown in there one day over nothing. An older woman just apologized to me for it. I felt bad for her because I could tell she couldn't afford to fire the girl, but was embarrassed. Awkward situation. But anyways, they have good coffee and good baked items. The two gentlemen running the shop super nice and very friendly. Gave us the history of the old building being a shopping grocery store back in the early 1900s. Very friendly. Wife and I had the fresh blueberries from Michigan baked muffins with hot chocolate and espresso. Sampled some of the other coffees and lifted some Lids to smell the many different varieties.
