Hidden Gem!!! Literally. So, your GPS/Waze will get you there but your eyes and brain will be lost. This is because it is literally inside the HighGrain Brentwood BrewPub. Once you've found HighGrain, park in the parking lot and go inside. You walk in and La Terza is immediately on your left. When you walk in, you can go up to the counter and check out the menu. Just hit the little doorbell on the counter if nobody is there when you arrive. They'll show up quickly. You'll also likely notice the coffee's that they currently have "on tap", if you will. They put the bags out front so you know what you're ordering. You can choose from one of their straight up cups of coffee to espresso or latte's, iced or hot. During this visit I selected a small black coffee and an iced vanilla latte. The black coffee was a Costa Rica bean that was bold and robust with flavor. I really enjoyed this. The vanilla latte was not sweet at all. So, if you're looking for something a little sweeter, I'd ask for it to be sweetened or possibly go with the caramel latte, as that was a little sweeter. They do roast their beans on-site. I was going to take a walk over there but the door was closed once I got my coffee order. I did buy a bag of their whole Peru sourced beans that I'm very much looking forward to grinding up and French pressing to perfection. Combined with HighGrain, there is a lot of space to sit and enjoy your coffee. They have a small bakery cabinet to check out and order from as well. I can only assume that the coffee shop and brewery work together, so you may be able to order food from HighGrain and have your coffee too. Would I go back? 100%. I'm looking forward to trying the beans that I purchased. If they're as good as the coffee that I had in-store, La Terza will be on my list of local places to get my beans from. read more

Had a delightful experience here with my husband taking a class teaching different brew methods. We arrived with a class already taking place and thought we were late. Steve greeted us and assured us we're fine and that was their espresso class (excited and can't wait to sign up for that in the future!). He led us to the bar and took some time to get to know us and our experience with coffee. Steve was great! Funny, laidback, and very informative. He showed us the different brew methods using the same bean to explore how different brewing styles can change the taste of the coffee. Also explained how to measure your coffee to water ratio. We tried everything from a Chemex to different types of pour overs to a French press. We advanced our vocabulary terms and honed in on our preferred brewing methods and tastes. I never thought I would like the French Press method so much! Also got to try different beans. I was surprised how much we didn't know; this really opened our world to new methods and switch up our coffee routines. Highly recommend taking their classes! read more

Delicious coffee! I stopped by today to grab an iced coffee and a bag of coffee for home. After speaking to the man running the shop I picked out a coffee that I think both my husband and I will enjoy. The coffee beans were fresh ground for me while I checked out some of the items they have for sale. I grabbed myself a piece of biscotti and some dark chocolate for my husband. My husband really liked the dark chocolate! It's a tad too bitter for me but I like my dark chocolate sweeter than he does. I'll be back in soon to grab some Ethiopian coffee next. read more

I didn't know this place existed and it is five minutes from my workplace. I had a meeting there and was please to know it existed. The staff was friendly. Since I have my usual tea orders, I requested the staff recommend something for me. I tried a new type of tea which I need to confirm the name. I love natural teas. After allowing the tea to sit for five minutes, I poured the tea into my cup and enjoyed it. It had a different taste to it, bitter not good. I am open to trying new things. I look forward to returning to try new teas. I am not a coffee drinker but would recommend to those who do. In addition the business actually makes the coffee and teas there. The person helping me was personable and knowledgeable. Extra kudos to her for her patience with my new-to-pourover-coffee questions, and questions about storing coffee. La Terza is a small local coffee roaster, and they actually sit in the industrial plaza across from Rivertown brewing. You might have seen their coffee featured in restaurants around town, like Maplewood. They have some of the best roasted coffee beans in the area, and they offer CLASSES for people that want to learn how they source coffee, roast beans, and brew them. For a mere $6 I got to take their Saturday morning coffee roasting class, where we actually learned so much and we got to roast some delicious Latin American beans (and drink a LOT of coffee). The teacher, Aaron, and the roaster, Chuck, were so great! They were funny and witty and super passionate about fresh, seasonal, perfectly roasted coffee. I am already going to sign up for my next class on how to brew the perfect cup of coffee at home using your own equipment. Trust me, you will never want to get your coffee from Starbucks again after having a cup from La Terza. Fresh beans just make all the difference in the world. My husband and I had the opportunity to go on a roastery tour here during a weekend getaway. We have HUGE coffee people and while cupping classes are readily available, it's much harder to get in on a roastery tour! Awesome coffee buying experience! I came in looking for a bag of whole beans. Got recommendations from the friendly staff based on my preferences, and I got excited about this Ethiopian coffee they suggested. I love fruity coffees and it sounded perfect. However I found the particular coffee I wanted wasn't in one of the bags on their shelf, so they went back to the roasting area and made me an individual bag of fresh-roasted beans. Great service! Definitely come here for the roasterie tour! In a city that is saturated with breweries, it is nice to have somewhere to take out-of-towners who don't drink beer! They have "classes" of various kinds every other week. We joined, the owner was quite nice and very knowledgeable. Bought a bag of coffee that smelled delicious and subsequently has tasted awesome. I have been obsessed with high quality craft coffee for a couple years now. I've been to almost every coffee shop in Cincinnati. My top list of places include Deeper Roots (now in OTR) and Collective Expresso (Northside). However the one that tops the list is La Terza! No the location is not ideal (but being north of Cincinnati it's perfect for me) the coffee quality is top notch. If your lucky enough Chuck will be manning the coffee bar when you visit. I have never had a better tasting coffee than from La Terza. There isn't even a hint of bitterness.
