We've been here several times as we meet with family. Food and service are always reliable, and the ambiance is comfortable and welcoming. We recommend.

We stopped here on our way to go hiking and they were so accommodating! We had our dog with us and they allowed us to sit on the patio with her, and brought her a bowl of water (which she promptly dumped - ha). We ordered breakfast, and the service was quick, and the food was solid. I was impressed with how big the omelette was, and it really hit the spot. There were lots of tables inside, including a bigger one for a group. Street parking was easy, we found a space in front of the restaurant. Glad we found this little spot!

We enjoyed the live music during our visit. After a round of drinks we asked for the Spinach and Mushrooms Quesadilla. The finest version arrived that the chef prepared and it really stayed together ! Another round of drinks as the restaurant filled up on this Wednesday evening. All in with tip was $51 and a great night !

The service was prompt and friendly. Food was delivered hot and fresh. Potato soup was good. Hot chips and salsa. Shrimp and grits were fabulous! Priced right! Nice cozy, stop for dinner!

    Oklahoma Smash Burger

The Attic was unfortunately a disappointing experience for a family dinner. The ambiance and service were both really good here but nothing special. The area looks very nice and has some nice windows so it seemed like a solid spot for some good food. Unfortunately, good food was not the experience that my family had. Out of 6 people, none had anything stellar to say about the food. There were complaints ranging from a long wait time to frozen cocktail sauce to just a lack of flavor in the meal. Personally, I had the daily special, the 'Oklahoma Smash Burger' which I was told had cheese, sautéed onions, lettuce, tomato, and "the normal burger stuff". I asked for it without the onions because I love a smash burger but when it came out it was just a small burger patty and one slice of cheese on a small bun. While the taste was fine it was still disappointing given what I was expecting (lettuce/tomato, etc). The fries I had on the side were also just mediocre. Overall, I don't think all be returning to The Attic after a poor experience from my whole family.

    Homemade brownie

Three of us went out for a girls dinner. Kayla was the bartender and also our server. Even though she was doing both, she was attentive. One ordered the smoked salmon dip. It wasn't to our liking, so we got the spinach artichoke dip. The tortillas that came with it were delicious. Our orders were simple pasta, grilled hearts of romaine salad, and ribeye with baked potato. The pasta was a large portion, so there were leftovers. The grilled salad was good, and not something that had been tried before. The ribeye was cooked just right, and the potato was, too. Sometimes potatoes are just easy to mess up. Tried the homemade brownie for dessert. It's a chocolate chip cookie/brownie hybrid. This one was definitely more cookie than brownie. Would like to go back and try other menu items!

    Do they have outdoor seating?

    Yes, they do.

Do you recommend a reservation for 6 people? We want to sit outside for a bachelorette party on a Saturday in March.

Tables outside typically seat four, so a call ahead might be helpful in getting a larger table set up.

If you've spent more than five minutes eating your way through Alpine Helen GA, you already know…read morethe truth: finding genuinely good, made-from-scratch food here feels like a competitive sport--and most places are losing. Campfire Restaurant isn't just winning... it's playing a completely different game. I've been here since day one, watching owner Matt and his crew build this place with intention and pride. This isn't a "let's open and see what happens" spot--this is passion, detail, and respect for doing food right. In a town where "authentic" can mean reheated and overpriced, Campfire stands out like a perfectly cooked ribeye in a sea of mediocrity. The vibe hits immediately--rustic North Georgia lodge meets modern comfort. Wood, textures, that Smoky Mountains ambiance. Indoor dining is cozy, outdoor dining under Edison lights is where the magic lives. It's date night, family dinner, or "I survived today" energy all in one place. Locals recommend this place for a reason--and locals don't hype things lightly. Now the food. Everything is made in-house--real Southern food, comfort food, and American food with flavor and consistency. The Southwest Gunpowder Nachos? Legendary. Handmade chips, massive portions--get steak and extra corn. It's two meals unless you're me. Best value in Helen. The smash burger is easily one of the best in Georgia--juicy, consistent, unforgettable. Fried chicken is solid, but locals will tell you: get the chicken tenders. Ribeye is tender, juicy, and always recommended. Mac and cheese? Creamy, different--but I'll admit I'm biased because mine is elite. Still worth trying. And the s'mores dessert--if you don't have room, make room. It's rich, indulgent, and perfect for date night or birthdays. Service has that "Cheers" feel--friendly, consistent, no judgment if you roll in looking like life just happened. They remember you, take care of you, and that matters. Parking is easy in the Alpine village shopping center. Seating is quick if you're smart about timing (don't be silly). Live music adds to the vibe without overpowering it. Prices are reasonable (rare for Helen), portions are big, and quality stays consistent--that trifecta is everything. This is a bucket list, must visit, locals favorite, top rated spot in Alpine Helen GA. Whether it's Oktoberfest, a Smoky Mountains trip, or just a Friday night--this is where you go when you want food that actually delivers. And honestly? In this town... that says everything. #facts REASONS TO VISIT: 1. Must visit, bucket list restaurant in Alpine Helen GA 2. Locals favorite, top rated, best in North Georgia 3. From-scratch Southern food, comfort food, American food 4. Southwest Gunpowder Nachos (huge portions, local favorite) 5. Smash burger (one of the best in Georgia) 6. When a server set the steak on the table shortly after, I asked for 57 sauce, as I'm a sauce guy. When the server brought it back he told me to try a bite without sauce as their steaks are well seasoned. Boy was he right! The gunpowder seasoning along with the clarified butter really enhanced the flavor of the ribeye. My wife gave me a bite of her chicken Alfredo and it was well seasoned too. Nice balance of garlic. The sides are the reason for a the 4 star review, though if judged by the steak alone, it would easily be a 5 star review. I ordered the loaded mashed potatoes, and they were topped with cheese and bacon. The potatoes needed seasoning. Mostly salt, pepper, and butter. The same could be said of the Mac and cheese. Our server was amazing. He had a great personality, and made sure we had a good meal The restaurant was clean.
