Awesome local staple. Place has an 'off-the-beaten-path' feel while being on the beaten path. Staff was great! Knew a lot of the bar's history. Ran into this place while literally on a run-Buddy had to have a beer "I want to run, drink, run." So yeah. Locals are all frequent fliers who were close-knit and crazy-awesome-welcoming. Staff knew everyone's name and the place had a very hometown bar feel. Tangent, but critical to mention: Drumstick chandeliers were a bad-a** touch. This place was awesome. This is very close to five stars. The limited selection of bottled beer is keeping me from giving the max, but we got a nice Sierra Nevada and Fat Tire on tap. Everything everyone else said... The bartender made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. It is casual, friendly and well lit. We came around 11pm on Friday, and there was a good crowd but not packed. We only had to wait a couple of games for our turn to play pool. They have two reasonably nice tables. On one table were more casual players playing partners, on the other table were some really great players. In spite of their impressive skills, they were really cool and friendly. I love this bar! This was the first place I started to frequent prior to moving to San Ramon. It's a regulars bar and after ten minutes they will make you feel right at home. The bartending staff is AWESOME ! They will make you a drink and then you make you known to the other bar patrons. It has a pool league, football pools, BBQ's you name it. It's a place where people can meet and become friends and not just "bar friends." Sappy, but true. Evie's is a clean looking bar stuck in a truncated commercial space. it's kind of a small space.. not a lot of seating. lots of flatscreens so one can watch anyone of a dozen sports that are occurring at that time. couple of pool table also available. draughts on the pricier side (5.5) or one can grab the special beer (4) was there briefly until the locals left so i don't know how they treat outsiders. bartender and the owner/manager are friendy., hospitable. on draught: -only about 6-8 usual suspects available, no new microbrews -parking may seem terrible but the back has pretty of spaces. read more

This bar is alot larger than it looks from the outside. They have 2 pool tables, a shuffle board, and a jukebox. There are many locals here and this place has a "neighborhood" bar kind of feeling. Drinks are cheap. Bartenders are friendly and so are the clientele. A well lit bar with strong pours, what more can you ask for? My friend Julie K was here with some of her pals so I stopped in to say hello. They have a jukebox which was playing some interesting tunes when I walked in, a pool table and shuffle board. I mainly came in for the company but from what I gather this would be a decent place to gather friends nearby. I like bars that have activities so this is definitely one of those places where you can sit, have some drinks with friends and hang out. The bartender the night I came in was super helpful too. Can't believe I haven't reviewed Evie's yet! Even my friend Amy J. has beat me to it! :) Evie's is what I would consider an "average bar" and that's not a knock on the place, but nothing exciting. You won't find hipsters or dance music or a fancy mirror ball. Just the average crowd of those either meeting for drinks over pool, dimes in the juke, or as my friends and I do ....a late night haven (slim pickins' in Dublin for late night hang outs) we usually all converge to grab a girly drink & catch up on gossip. Plenty of seating both at the bar and within. Sufficiently lit. Clean restrooms. Parking both out front and in the back. And a "safe" place at night for women to meet and not feel either picked up on, or worried to walk to our cars later. Years ago right when I turned 21 my mom and dad took me for a night out on the town in Dublin. Yes, very fancy. I came back recently for my mans birthday and it seemed different from the last time I was here. Of course, I was drinking then so my memory may be skewed. There is a ton of parking behind the bar. I didn't know that either. I only had one cocktail when I got here. Then I powered up the ol' AMI Jukebox app and took over the juke box. I think Id rather be the mood setter than drink actually. All of the bartenders were great! They were so sweet and friendly to everyone. The one cocktail I ordered was a Greyhound but they were out of white grapefruit juice and only had pink. They were very apologetic. It was fine though, Ill take a little dose of sugar for a good time. Our group played pool for most of the time and enjoyed the music I was picking. It was a bumping place on a Friday night. In all honesty, Dublin has a great little local bar to go take advantage of. read more

I have been to this bar a handful of times. Every time I have left asking myself and my friends, "why did we go there again?" The last time I went there with a few friends and I was the designated driver for the night. We had already been to a few clubs before we wound up there. I was ordering just a glass of water and tipping every time the bartender gave me a refill, even though he was giving me an attitude for not ordering a drink. Towards the end of our stay, one of my friends couldn't hold in her booze and yacked out side. So I go in and ask for a glass of water. The bartenders response, " I'M NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF SERVING WATER! TALK TO ME WHEN YOU WANT A DRINK!!!!" Pretty decent bar. It was open late and friendly staff. It seemed like the type of place where the bartenders and customers had a close relationship which is something I really appreciate. Our bartender was super funny and it was great sharing some stories back and forth. The drinks were reasonable and everyone just seemed to be having a good and relaxed time. The type of place you go with a coworker and unwind after a long day and catch up over a pitcher. There are also two pool tables and a shuffle board, which we got addicted to. I wouldn't say there is anything special that the bar does but its in a great location right off Dublin Blvd on Village Pkwy and didn't close super early like some other places. We originally were going to another place (around 10PM) and it was closed and luckily Evie's was open. If a friend was down I would come back to this place for a beer and shuffle board. read more

Believe me the ones that do go there would come more often. Jay sits at the bar drinking for free on is off time and is an arrogant jerk to customers he doesn't know. Even when I see him at your competition (Gallagher's) I throw up in my mouth. There was 6 of us last time I was there which was more than you had sitting at your bar, we were treated poorly. I come to this bar regularly after a long day at work and absolutely love it. The bar itself is a small more intimate location with several flat screen tv's streaming anything from baseball to hockey as well as a jukebox with a wide selection of music. The real reason I come here is for the bartenders. Marta and Jay are always welcoming and friendly but Jonay is my favorite with her great attitude and conversation at the bar. As with any small location such as this there are only so many opportunities to play a game at their 2 pool tables or hear your selections on the jukebox but the bathrooms and seating area are always well maintained and cleared of debris unlike many pubs in this area. I would definitely recommend this location for someone searching for a great place to pull up a seat and enjoy a pint as an oasis from the daunting reality of a long work week. read more

I've been in here a couple times and it's definitely a local place. It didn't take long for some of the barternders and patrons to try to make me feel included. I still wasn't 100% comfortable, but I'll keep going back and eventually will be part of the "in" crowd..LOL BUT - I went on a Wednesday night to watch the basketball playoffs and the music was too loud, obviously it's not a Sports Bar, although it does seem to try sometimes, hence all the tvs and sports memorabilia on the walls. Came here to help celebrate a friend's birthday and St Patrick's day a day early to avoid the St Patrick's day drinking crowd. Small little bar in a small parking lot and lucky for us we had gotten here early enough to get a parking spot. Beers (at least the ones I care to drink) are $5.50 a pint. I got a Sam Adams and made my way to the back of the bar where two pool tables awaited our group. Evie's has moved just around the corner. They are now located close to Boat Masters on Village Parkway. I've lived in Dublin for 10 years and have never gone inside Evie's thinking it's just another dive bar. Well, last night a buddy and I decide to go there. We were pleasantly surprised. Evie's is just a regular bar. It's far too well lit to be a dive. The bar is very well stocked and the mixed drinks are alright. The bartender (I didn't get her name) was extra friendly and ran a very professional bar. Our drinks were never empty for more than a couple of minutes before she asked us if we'd like something else. On top of that, she was very pleasant to deal with. The place has quite a few regulars and it gets noisy at times, but that's what's supposed to happen at these places. Now, I need a few cups of coffee before I can get back to work! read more

So here we are last night meeting some friends to play pool. They pick the place and say meet us @ Evie's. Evie's, Where the eff is that? So we make our way over to Dublin and it looks a little skech from the outside. Looks straight up divey. We circle around the front for parking and felt like all 6 pairs of eyes inside the joint were checking us out and not exactly sure as to why. We didn't see our friends' car out front so we decided to pull around back for a looksy. Same thing. We get to the back lot and through the door we can see everyone eyeing us. We parked and I was thinking "I am not going in UNLESS our people turn up." But then I decided to jump on yelp on my iphone while we waited and read some decent reviews. I saw the post about the madras and we decided to make a go of it. One * is for the bartender. I didn't get his name but he was cool. He is the captain of this joint and checking everything and everyone out. I asked about the madras that I read online. He's like "It is vodka, cran and OJ" That cracked me up for some reason. I had one anyway and he asked me what kind of vodka I wanted. Goose! Another * is for the jukebox. That thing was cool. It's like a gigantic iTunes. While I only spent a few bucks playing songs, I had a great time searching for stuff. And another * is for the work that has been done inside that place. The place is clean, freshly painted, well-lit. The two pool tables are decent. There were a few folks who brought in their own cue sticks but for the most part, the play was casual. I noticed that the lights over the tables were cool -- with red dragonflies. The ladies bathroom was clean -- amen. I'd say there is pride of ownership in this place for sure, which is great. There was shuffle board, too (but we didn't play). I'm taking away one star for no bar food. I was hungry for some chicken fingers with ranch sauce or some garlic fries or SOMETHING. Alas, you can buy a pint size of chips for $1.00 off the wall. The patrons figure they can go round to Lucky's (one building over) and bring over a pizza pie. We didn't order one, though. Overall, a good experience. We'll go back to this little place that looks like a dive but is comfy inside -- despite the slight intimidation we felt just from driving into the parking lot. This is a GREAT local bar. It's in a safe neighborhood. The clientele varies. I tend to stop by Friday nights on the way home from wherever we may have been. Jay has been there forever & he's friendly. Pours a good drink :) Example on the people. Last night around 10:30- 2/3 deep at the bar, pool tables full. I was sitting @ the bar people watching. Jay was the only bartender. Not once did I see ANYONE waiting for a drink, waving $ not being served. Everyone was taken care of. By 11:30- the place was pretty empty & quiet again. Another reviewer had a 'complaint' about no food. What's great about Evies? Bring in your own food. They don't care. I walk in regularly with McD's fries since they are down the street.
