Please consider the cost of the event itself before booking this place. Predatory pricing with no attention to detail is a poor reflection of how the management is marketing their country club. There are many other venues (charging considerably less fees) that make an effort to promote quality of the venue. Country Club used to equate to classy, not here.

My game wasn't cooperating to score well but I still enjoyed the course and experience. Coming from a Midwest customer service oriented background. From the club house staff , Lauren on the beverage cart to Sam at the clubhouse bar were all phenomenal. A special shout out to Sam for being a fantastic representation of hospitality. She handled our 12 guys at the bar area and a continuous revolving door of other customers. She did it all with a smile, and was a great sport. Grand Canyon College Golf Course…read more For the old timers in Phoenix, this golf course was the former public city golf course known as Maryvale Golf Course. I played here many times as Maryvale, first time since Grand Canyon University took over the management and maintenance of the golf course. Have to say GCU has made many improvements to the golf course, fairways are thicker with grass, greens are fast and challenging. The off fairway areas are thin to no grass and the old Tamarack Trees are the same as before . The clubhouse is the major difference, new and beautiful with nice banquet area for meeting and lunch for tournaments. Good job GCU

Normally, a server greets you shortly after you arrive and goes over safety, but we waited about 10 minutes before he even came by. When he did, he skipped any introduction and just asked what we wanted to order. I've had the Play More Membership for about 5 months and ordered waters and an appetizer, the chicken buffalo dip. The food actually came out quickly, in under 15 minutes, which was great, but our server then confronted the food runner in front of us, questioning whether the order was even ours because it came out so quickly. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially since the runner confirmed it was correct. From there, the service continued to decline. I had to repeatedly remind him to bring waters, plates, and napkins. He eventually brought four plates but only two napkins for a group of four, and even after asking multiple times, the waters didn't arrive until we only had about 15 minutes left of gameplay, after asking four times. By that point, we were already 30 to 40 minutes into our session. With about 12 minutes left on the hour, he came to charge us using the handheld device. After we paid, we chose not to tip because the service was clearly not up to the usual standard we expect at Topgolf. He immediately turned the screen, saw the $0 tip, and loudly said, "I'll make sure you guys never fucking come back here again." He said this aggressively and loud enough that the surrounding bays turned to look at us, which was extremely embarrassing and completely unacceptable conduct, especially given his tone and inappropriate language. He then left the bay area. Shortly after that, a manager came over and told us to leave, even though we still had about 10 minutes of gameplay remaining and unfinished food. The manager also refused to provide the server's name, despite it being clearly visible on his name tag. The manager told us, "My server said that he was disrespected by you guys, so I'm going to have to ask you guys to leave." Even after explaining the situation, he still did not try to accommodate us. To be clear, the gameplay and the food were great as usual, but the service and how this situation was handled completely ruined the experience. As a loyal Play More member who has been coming to this location for years, I'm extremely disappointed. Being verbally disrespected and then asked to leave without any refund or compensation for unused time and unfinished food is unacceptable. Especially after we waited an hour and a half to get a bay. Which we happily waited due to previous amazing customer service from other servers. I hope management takes this seriously, because this is not the level of service I've come to expect from Topgolf. De' Laurence needs more than just a conversation with management--this was extremely unprofessional and very disappointing. His demeanor and behavior are not appropriate for a customer service role.

New balls, ball trackers, replaced some of the older mats, etc. They're currently building a facility to serve food and drinks. Bathrooms are reasonably clean. There's a fantastic golf shop attached and service is amazing. Cons: Without fail there are a handful of dysfunctional or out of order bays. The Trackman golf sensors often misread or miss a shot and there's no way to fix it. Bays and screens look like they've never been cleaned (tons of dust). I'm not too crazy about the table and chairs. I find the stool chairs (over the lower metal ones) to be very uncomfortable and tables just collect dirt (more things that should be cleaned). Overall I highly recommend this place, they just have a few things to work on.
