First time in and Wow what a great sandwich, I ordered two items to go. Ruben which my lunch pal said it was awesome! I could only eat half of my sandwich, you definitely don't have to search for the bacon! The coleslaw was also delicious. The staff is super friendly, actually the person ahead of me was having a hard time making choices and her order started to get lengthy so the lady helping her had another employee take over so she could ring up my order. You can only eat in till 3:00 pm but you can order to go till 5:00pm read more

Great Mom + Pop Deli! Place is run by a crew of 3 slamming out orders from long lines to none. Uses Boar's Head meats/cheeses and homemade salads (the coleslaw was delicious). Usual chips and can soft drinks. The menus online were outdated since supply issues and price hikes, so I've attached the latest one from 7/24. Sadly, they no longer serve lox on a bagel as previously highlighted when searching on Yelp! I ordered the grilled Rachel w sliced pastrami, Swiss + coleslaw. Served with a deli pickle spear. Portion was generous. It was absolutely perfect! I can hardly wait to try a roast beef, London broil, Cuban or Italian sub. Also noted the Daily Lunch Specials for $9 that includes a Kaiser roll sandwich, chips + drink. My wife and I have picked up sandwiches there several times over the past several years. Don't go there if you in a big rush. It's a great deli and they take their time making excellent sandwiches. They are the best sandwiches I've had since moving to Volusia county over 4 years ago! We Haven't been there in a month or so but when we are out and about, that's our spot if we are getting lunch to bring home. Super highly recommended! read more

What a cute place. Deli sandwiches are very good and they are very large. The owners are very friendly as well as their customers. I absolutely LOVE Harts Deli! It's been a while since I've been. But that has changed. My family and I are in the middle of a move and needed lunch. We didn't want the typical fast food and Harts Deli came up as an option. I quickly said yes to this! We arrived and was warmly greet not only by the owners, but the patrons dining at tables inside. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE was super nice! I truly believe that when the patrons we come you and tel you about the food it reflects on the love and passion from the owners and staff. This place is probably the most underrated sandwich shop in the country. If you're anywhere near Daytona you have to go here. I'm not kidding. The breads are fresh and varied, high quality bread. The meats are fresh & great. Again high quality. Worth every penny. Pickles good. Lots of salad choices like potato salad etc. These are huge. Really good sandwiches. After Railfanning behind this Deli for the past four months or so I finally got a chance to actually try it out. I ordered the Big Ol Burrito and when they say big they aren't joking. This thing was huge and very good. The menu is filled with all kinds of sandwiches and other unique things you won't find anywhere so forget McDonald's or other fast food places and get yourself something good to eat here. You won't be sorry. This little place is also very clean and such a cool atmosphere and the friendliest people you'll find anywhere. I highly recommend this establishment read more

Awesome little local spot for lunch. The atmosphere is great. A lot of the diners there are regulars and it reminded me of a small deli I went to as a child. My son ordered the Maximus which is quite a hotdog! He loved it and ate the whole thing. I had the Al Greene which is a hummus, feta vegetable wrap. My wife and I were in town on vacation and we had started getting sick of the local touristy food. The hotel receptionists referred us to harts. After a quick yelp search we were on our way. When we arrived the restaurant was at the end of a strip mall and besides a pig statue out front, you never would have known it was there. While we were there at an off hour 2:10pm the restaurant still had 8 different customers either waiting or eating away. The woman who took our order was the owner and she made excellent suggestions in what we should order. My wife ordered the turkey lurkey, and I had the caveman. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW, not a word was said between the two of us until we had our first half intermission. We both looked at each other and said these were the best sandwiches we've ever had... and she saved her second half and helped me finish my first half. On a whim we tried the homemade cookies as well, just as good. We will be back before the end of our vacation... P.S. - come hungry, the sandwiches are big and filling. read more

If you want a delicious, and I do mean DELICIOUS, sub Harts Deli is the were you need to try. I just had lunch with my wife there and all I can say is WOW! My wife had the meatball sandwich which had melted mozzarella and toasted parmigiana cheese chips and I had the Golfcart Johnny, ham, roast beef, turkey and bacon. Typically, I'm someone who automatically goes for their famous chicken and waffles, but this time around I wanted to switch things up and try something completely different. I opted for the Meat Lovers Scramble Bowl, and made a quick substitution: I swapped out the standard hollandaise sauce for their sausage gravy. It was the absolute right move! The bowl was packed with so much incredible flavor and was super filling. Since I was dining alone, I grabbed a seat at the bar. The staff here was incredibly nice and attentive--more than one person stopped by throughout my meal just to ensure I was taken care of and didn't need a single thing. If you are looking for a fantastic, hearty, home-cooked meal in Daytona, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. I won't wait so long to return next time!

My son was ill this summer and nothing sounded good to eat to him except for a Roast Beef Sandwich from Hart's Deli in Sound Daytona. They are by far the best sandwich shop in Florida. Only the best ingredients are used. Sandwiches are large and so plentiful, you can eat half for lunch the other half for diinner. The Harts greet their customers and make everyone feel at home. Service is top notch. Hart's Deli is like a trip back in time, when the customer mattered, and the food was great. We use to frequent two other places to get a sandwich or sub. But after are first trip to Hart's, we now only go there. Hart's Deli is our only choice. Located one block west of US 1 off of Big Tree Road. read more

Excellent food and menu choices. Went for the pastrami (which was fantastic) and will be returning to try everything else! Enjoyed lunch here today. A LOT of meat on each sandwich - Cuban and Disco Dave. We both are for $31 (2 sandwiches, drinks and chips). A good value for the money. No line, no waiting. Fast, friendly service. Highly recommended - we'll be back! read more

Some say the pastrami is the best ever other says the pizza is to die for, well today it seemed most people came for the pizza but I had already decided on the pastrami before I pulled in the parking lot. This was a giant sandwich freshly prepared while I waited, really good fresh rye bread, spicy mustard, swiss cheese and a lot of hot from the grill pastrami (deli sliced but I knew that coming in). I got here a few minutes after they opened so there was no line and the woman working the register was so friendly and accommodating, the older gentleman I presume is George was busy tending to the pizzas and sandwich orders that were coming in. I planned to eat this outside at one of the older tables and chairs which I found pretty cool so told her that and she had the sandwich put in a container and didn't bag it but ensured I had plenty of napkins. The sandwich was $17.04 with tax so there went my twenty dollar bill with the tip. Well that seemed a little expensive to me until I opened it up once I grabbed a seat in the shade and found it was easily enough for two or one with half to take home. There are a number of reasons I give them 4 stars but honestly the sandwich was at best a three, it was a little chewy with maybe a little too much time on the grill. I'm happy I was able to experience this place and I'm planning to return to experience a few slices of pizza (two slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza and a can drink for $8.00) sounds more than reasonable to me...

No sauce, no avocado, there might have been some cheese, but service was invisible until the bill arrived. They offered me a scoop of ice cream to make up for the terrible meal and said "There should have been avocado on it." I give praise when can, and I'm seriously sad this place has taken such a fall from grace and the once-upon-a-time good food they used to serve.
