First I wanna say the customer service is amazing. The young ladies in there allowed me to sample the cream cheese before I decided which one I want it on my bagel and I'm gonna tell you now the cream cheese is not just your standard Philadelphia cream cheese. It was absolutely amazing. With that being said, I never thought that I would say this in my life, but I have feelings for a cinnamon raisin bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Hands-down, one of the best bagels I have ever had ever you can see the beautiful cinnamon swirls in the bagel. The raisins are also in there the blueberry cream cheese with the perfect mix of blueberry, but the tartness of cream cheese. Oh my God, I was in heaven. if ever I am in the area I would 100% stop to this place again they can get my money any day. I literally did a happy dance when I bit into it. read more

Solid bagel. But it was late and they were out of poppy, sesame, and cinnamon raisin, so I went with plain. I also didn't get it toasted. Why I'm trying to say is that while 'solid' means very good, the bagels are probably even better if you get them before noon. What really stood out here though was the patience and friendliness of the guy behind the counter, who I assume is the owner. Or at least one of the owners. This alone makes me want to come back and give him some business. Another plus that might be overlooked by many visitors is that there is free parking right across the street. It's a small city so this is a nice convenience. Recommended. Btw, the red towel under the bagel is because it's a new car and not taking any chances. A beach towel has more than one use. read more

Great bagels. It reminds me of New York bagel shops minus the rush! The staff are happy to answer questions and are so friendly when they take your order. I always order to go. I'm a fan of all the bagels I've tried. Always fresh and delicious. They are pretty dense bagels, but I like that! Price is pretty fair. I stopped in today to pick up a bagel and cream cheese and wish I could have spent more time talking to the owner. I don't usually eat bagels anymore, because they are just not that good, but this was hands-down the best bagel I have had in many, many years. Lived in Deland for 7 years now and finally found my way here. I got an everything bagel and it was fresh. White chocolate iced coffee wasn't so bad either. (I will have to update after trying the cream cheese and other bagels I took home to eat.) We were welcomed by Darren, who is the owner. Patient and very helpful with everything. I woke up this morning thinking about a bagel and my choice did not disappoint. I ordered an onion bagel with plain cream cheese. This isn't the first time we've visited & every single time we go, we love our meal. I always recommend this shop to friends & family when they come to visit. Friendly staff, quick service and they have a variety of drinks, coffees, bagels & spreads to choose from. This shop is located right in downtown with seating inside & outside. And if you want to take bagels to go, they offer bags of a set number inside. Make sure to come early because a lot of their bagels sell out quickly. We arrived at lunch time and our bagels were soft on the inside & delicious. I ordered the bacon, egg & cheese on an egg bagel (normally I love having it on a pesto bagel, but they didn't have it this time) and my husband always gets the Jersey Pork roll on an Everything Bagel. We also ordered 2 vanilla lattes hot and they came out drinkable (didn't burn our mouths) and delicious. Our meal came out to be $20 & we left stuffed. Exactly what we wanted. My husband is very full after just 1 sandwich so they give you plenty of food. I think it's worth the price & it's a great bagel shop. Always happy to stop by and get a good bagel. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find that NY Bagel & Deli Deland that does taste like the real deal! The bagels were great and absolutely reminiscent of the ones I used to devour growing up in NYC. The sesame bagel and the onion bagel were toasted to perfection. T. My bacon egg and cheese was good and my lady (Brooklyn native..ughh I know!) absolutely loved her Ham and Swiss with L&T, onion, and spicy brown mustard on a sesame bagel. Easily my favorite spot to grab a bagel locally. They have a nice selection of bagels and cream cheese. My favorite spreads are onion and chive and then veggie. In the veggie, they are chopped up very tiny which I prefer. Sometimes I also get a breakfast bagel sandwich. I only have had the sausage because that is my go to and it is so good. Good size and you get to pick you type of cheese on top. Only drawback I can say, is that as good as they are fresh, they do not hold well buying for the week or a later day as they get hard fast. You must and only use authentic Taylor ham for the sandwich. What ever subpar pork roll you are using needs to be thrown in the garbage and replaced with taylor ham. In NJ its called a Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich for that reason. Using anything other than taylor ham may get you arrested in my home town. Change that and you go to 5 stars read more

My staff and I stopped by Deland Bagels for breakfast after our final Thursday night in Deland. We saw that it was highly recommended on Yelp and that the food looked good, so we gave it a go. I have to say the bagels and breakfast sandwiches, along with the people-watching, were top-notch. I opted for a pastrami on rye, while it certainly wasn't Katz's quality, it was good and filled my hunger for breakfast. The service is good and the location is great but the food is meh.... I have gone twice. The first time I got a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. I did like the bagel a lot and at this time the egg was an actual egg (white with yolk) my recent visit I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a New Yorker bagel (everything with Asiago cheese). The egg itself was awful. The texture was like a wet sponge and the flavor was a bit freezer tasting. The bagel was good but the KETCHUP!!!! The ketchup packets they offer are the most disgusting thing you will ever taste! Basically red gel vinegar packets... I do wish they would consider spending a bit more money for a better quality ketchup. I had remembered this from my first visit so I kept a hienz packet to use. Will I go back? Maybe when passing by and very hungry, but I certainly will not go out of my way to go there again. read more

We live in deland and enjoy getting a bagel here every so often. My critique is the girl with the red/pink hair who checks you out is very short, seems to hate customer service honestly. I wouldn't say blatantly rude but definitely doesn't welcome you, thank you, look at you when confirming or asking about order, really just feels like a huge inconvenience to her that you walk in. The other workers always greet on arrival and say thank you when giving you your order. Such a shame. read more

As a born and raised New Yorker, I always enjoy passing through towns and trying "NY" locations. I'm not sure when's the last time this business or any of the esteemed reviews proclaiming this business has good bagels, has had any actual NY bagels, but this ain't it. The size , the seasoning , the bagel do not match or compare. The 3 star rating is because this bagel in itself was not bad and was edible. But 1st thing noticed the size and seasoning, the second thing noticed was the bacon and egg is made in a industrial toaster and not on a griddle. There is not a bodega in nyc that would serve up a bacon egg n cheese in toaster! The service was pretty solid, staff seemed super friendly. But once the questions came across of where there bagel and staff are from in nyc the guard went up. Again , better than a bagged up bagel from the grocery store, but this is not NYC BAGELS.
