The bagel shop is highly praised and was recommended by a lot of different New York travel videos that I watched. I wanted to love this place so badly and came in with high expectations but was honestly pretty disappointed. The bagels themselves were just alright (I feel like I've had better bagels from Costco) and the flavors of each of the sandwiches weren't anything special. When I came, the store was packed, so be prepared to wait in line. There are some seats available but they're very limited and it felt like everyone was hovering over each other to try to get a seat as soon as it became available. Service was friendly though. Overall, for the food and the experience here, I would say it's not worth the visit.

I love this place. Feels like a neighborhood staple, always busy but quick getting your food, TONS of options, the bagels are all really good and fresh, the cream cheese top notch, especially the strawberry and blue berry which actually have real fruit in them. The staff is nice, the other customers are nice. They have lots of seating inside (although it's a bit noisy) and even more seating outside of the wether is nice. Personally only thing I would recommend is the breakfast sandwich, I feel that the cheese isn't melted enough and there is a TON of eggs but not as much meat which is where I feel most the flavor comes from.

Loved this place. Both were terrific. Chocolate chip bagel with cinnamon raisin was so fun and tasty as a dessert kind of bagel. The everything bagel was so good. I'd come back and try the Doritos next time!

Food: I got the Upper East Sider sandwich on an everything bagel, which is a classic lox with scallion cream cheese, capers, tomatoes. Although it was relatively pricier, the portion size was yuge. Such plentiful amount of fish and everything was so fresh. The bagel was decent with nice sweetness, chew, and density, but not overly so. Service: Service was great! The cashier was really nice and greeted everyone with a smile. Fast to get the sandwich. Ambiance: Super packed on a Sunday morning, I loved the vibes of this neighborhood UES bagel spot. Simple name with no frills attitude. Everything was clean and seating was plentiful even with so many people around. While it's not the best bagels I've ever had, it is a solid UES spot with great options, fresh ingredients, and good customer service.

I liked how tall and open this place was! There's a pretty extensive menu and there was a constant flow of people. There are some tables inside and more outdoor seating - though the pavement is kind of uneven. I got a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with strawberry cheesecake ($5.72). I feel like that is reasonably priced compared to other bagel places in NYC. My friend got the Upper East Sider.

This is my go-to bagel shop every time I'm in NYC! I ordered the Loux breakfast bagel sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The bagel was fresh, everything was made to order, and the portion size was huge. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend checking this place out. This is the spot for a classic NYC bagel.

My go to spot for a bagel sandwich in the UES/East Harlem area! I love the bagels at PopUp, but when I crave a sandwich I come here. staff is soo friendly, there is so seating, and it's so much cheaper than Tal! I don't have a go to order, just love trying things so will try to keep a running list. - matcha cream cheese w azuki red bean on sesame bagel is 5/5 and so unique - upper east side lox sandwich was very good, ~$17 - presto pesto was good but would not get again, the egg didn't hit for me, ~ $13

The Bagel Shop is still a classic and top two of my favorites! I love so many of their huge varieties of cream cheese and bagels, Flagel and bialys. The Olive Pimento and the Pumpernickel Bagels are just two of my go to for a special breakfast treat. If you are visiting NYC make this a to go but be prepared to wait in line if you don't arrive when they first open. I'm highly recommending as usual.

Upper eastsider sandwich was super yummy. Bagel was good and the toppings were a good ratio. Service was quick and the shop is spacious with nice lighting. The outdoor seating area was nice as well.

But like why is this the best bagel place I've had in NYC thus far? Every time I walked by here there was always a huge line out the door so I decided to try it out. We placed our order and surprisingly was able to find a table for 2 and we got our bagels within 10 minutes as they shouted our name over an intercom. I ordered the Upper East Sider on a delicious toasted onion bagel. I don't have much to say about the bagel itself, but each ingredient inside had generous servings. The lox was very thick cut and fresh and went very well with the capers and tomatoes. I definitely felt very full afterward. Looks, am I happy that it costs $15+ for a bagel? Not really, but it is very delicious and I will be back for more.

Presto Pesto and everything with jalapeño cream cheese.

Everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese and presto pesto! Great service, cute seating, would definitely come back (I live in Boston!)

Great selection to choose from, while the shop smelled amazing to intrigue all my senses.

This review is long overdue. This is my go to bagel place when in the Upper East Side. They have a large variety of sandwiches, bagels and spreads. There are so many options it may be a bit intimidating, but I usually do not get in line until I have decided what I want. This time I has the California Dreamin", and even though the sign clearly states no substitutions, I substituted honey mustard for lemon honey feta spread, on a sesame bagel. The bagel was fresh and perfectly toasted. The tomatoes, avocado and cucumbers were thinly sliced and fresh. The swiss cheese was thick, but not too thick, just enough to taste the full flavor. Service is fast, but patient and friendly. The sandwich was $15, but was large enough to share. The lemon honey feta and sundried tomato spreads are some of my daughter's favorites and we purchased tubs to enjoy later.

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.

Anyways, the girls had bookmarked another bagel establishment but the line was hella long like they were giving away Knicks gear for free. Ironically another "bagel shop" search on Yelp showed PopUp Bagels was like three doors down lol. No line! That in itself was making me question but there is a PopUp in San Diego that my daughter swears by. PopUp advertised itself as "Not Famous, but known." Whether or not this bagel is better than the one store three doors up is something I cannot attest to. However I can say THIS WAS A DANG GOOD BAGEL! And it was freshly made! How do I know? It literally burned my fingers when I ripped it open! The pain was worth it. Outside, a slightly crisp texture generously coated with "Everything". Inside was a dense and chewy dough that was pliable but able to withstand the dipping and shmearing of cream cheese (which was smooth). Best I have ever had for sure but then again my most common bagel experience is the place named after a scientist where tons of bagels are sitting in bins for who knows how long. So why wasn't this a 5-star experience? One, I only ate one thing. Two, sevice and setting are "just there". Considering it wasn't busy I would expect a bit more of a welcome. To eat you're bagel you can full on just leave, sit at the three stools inside where it is super hot (bc hey they actually cook), or three stand outside. There is a little, I'll say "patio", where you can stand, eat, and true story, watch two people argue about who gets to sort through the recyclables from the neighborhood eateries. Snack and a show???? I just stood near the door and enjoyed my bagel.
