I drive by this place everyday and finally stopped in. Based off the name I completely thought it was strictly bagels, but they have an extensive tasty looking menu and coffees/ espresso's. Seating options for indoors and out. The customer service was great and friendly. The decor is funky and unique. I ordered an everything bagel with light vegetable cream cheese. It was $4.55! I was shocked. So expensive. It was really good, tasted fresh, a little salty but that's my style. Cream cheese was a good amount. But I can go across the street at King Soopers and get a bagel for 99 cents. My last bagel in Manhattan was years ago and that was over $6. read more

A nice spot to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. Pros -Super friendly staff who provided quick service -Prices were right on par with a Dunkin Donuts/Einstein while serving a much higher quality product. -Wide menu selection of standard bagels, spread, breakfast sandwiches and even some lunch options. We both ordered a breakfast sandwich and the portion on each was outstanding. -Convenient hours for early morning trips up to the mountains or down the hill. Cons -Wish the bagels were a bit more fresh - they were much better than what you get in a chain, but also tasted like they were not baked that morning and had a bit thicker of a consistency then a super fresh bagel. -It would be awesome to have a drive thru here, but I am really nit picking at this point. -Coffee options are rather limited, but good selection of to go drinks Honestly, I feel like breakfast food is all more or less the same so I am not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. Was it the best bagel experience I have ever had? No. Was it above average? In my mind, yes. The people who work there are warm and friendly. I had the Berthoud Pass lunch bagel. It was good, but for the price tag of the sandwich, it was lacking some meat and cheese. Seriously lacking. The bag of chips I also purchased (1.5oz size) turned out to be over two dollars! I will not return because I personally find the product to not be worth the value. read more

Great bagel shop. We often ride our bikes by here and I've been wanting to try them out. I stopped by the other day at lunchtime and got a great bagel sandwich. I also picked up a half dozen bagels, they had a bunch of great flavors to choose from and yummy cream cheese flavors too. Even better was their service, super friendly and helpful. Wow, this place has totally gone down over the past few years. It all began with the flies swarming around you while you eat in there for year and it's regressed to worse conditions. As a family, and a couple Of times a year, we drive up to Evergreen to start our day at the Bagelry and the hike around town and elsewhere. We love supporting small business. The bagel racks are usually empty for more flavors, the bacon is usually subpar, and the counters are usually gross. Today's visit was weird as one had a mask on and one didn't. They don't carry decaf because of the pandemic?? So strange. . But this morning was enough to make us never go back there. As my wife was pouring her Almond milk, brought to her from the back fridge, a teabag sized glob of dark mold started to fall into the cup. Wow. Think about that for a second. How long would it take non dairy milk to become that moldy. The conditions in this business have eroded so much that it's not a good idea to even think about doing there to eat or apparently drink anything. What a shame. read more

Pros: great location, free wifi, good menu items, good bagels with lots of different options, big space with lots of comfortable seating. Cons: The staff always seems to be 16-18 year old girls texting the whole time, they MICROWAVE the bagels to melt cheese for sandwiches (that is sooooo bad imo), coffee and caffeinated drinks are just microwaved pre-mixed drinks. read more

We went to the bagelry on our way to a hike today. It looks really cute and has plenty of seating, one area with a tv and another area that is for customers who like it more quiet. Unfortunately our order took maybe 15 min to make, and then the bagel bottom and top were mixed up. My 12 yo daughter went back to tell them and was told she was wrong and it was fine. So I had to go over and ask again, cinnamon raisin top and everything bottom is just not a great combo! Lol! All in all a nice breakfast, it just wasn't as peaceful as I was hoping, lots of back and forth and waiting. The bagels themselves were ok, just not a whole lot of egg/sausage on the supreme, only covered half the bagel. I think the bagelry can be great, it just needs some quality control read more

When this place is great, it's GREAT. Unfortunately it's hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get a perfect egg and cheese bagel with plenty of egg and great toppings and all is well. Other times, you'll have to wait for an order even though you gave it enough time after placing it online. Or you'll get a very small amount of egg. Or the cheese won't be melted. Or you'll choose the online option to pay for extra egg because you've been disappointed with the amount of egg in the past, only to get the same small amount. It's not like I've ever had a truly bad experience here, it's just been a bummer more times than not. I didn't want to contribute to a bad rating by giving them less than 4 stars, because like I said, this place is amazing when they're on fire. I hope they sort out their consistency issues, because we need this place to succeed in Evergreen! read more

I just had the weirdest experience- I walked up and ordered. The guy looked me in the eye, then turned and asked the lady who came in behind me what she wanted, served her, then came back to take my order. Then I went to the register to order my drink and pay. The lady who came in after me but got served first was at the register. They took her drink order, took her money, gave her the drink. Then I stepped up to order. The girl working the register turned and walked right away from me. Then started talking to someone else at the counter and I just stood there awkwardly. I asked the lady before me if she was noticing this, and she laughed a little- nicely, because she thought it was weird too. Then a third woman came up and asked for my order when she heard me and the other lady talking. She looked really mad at me and I have no idea why. She took my drink order, took my money, then turned and walked away without a word and started taking someone else's order and serving them. While I'm still just standing there all weird waiting for my drink. So she's off helping someone else, the other two people behind the counter are still ignoring me. Then after she served the other people, she finally came back and made my drink and gave it to me without a word. Why were they so angry about my presence in their store? I have never been in this place before, I have no idea why they were so mad. All I ordered was a bagel and a small chai-I didn't say anything except that joke with the other customer after the weird treatment had already started. I wasn't wearing anything offensive. I don't think that it was racially motivated because I was the same race as the people behind the counter. I don't know if the Bagelry models itself after the Soup Nazi of Seinfeld fame, but this is unquestionably the worst coffee shop in Evergreen. First, Dazbog coffee sucks. I've never had a good cup; it always tastes bitter and charred. Second, maybe it's the altitude but the bagels are flat and bland. Third - and most importantly - the service is terrible. I arrived on a Tuesday morning to a very short line, but it took a few minutes for either of the people behind the counter to acknowledge the customers. When asked what I wanted (that curtly), I said I just wanted a medium coffee. The gal gave no reply and then asked the guy behind me, who ordered a sandwich. Another person arrived at the register who asked me again what I wanted, I said I just needed to pay for a coffee. She rang it up and told me the price. No please, no thanks, just the price and my change. If you want a shitty cup of coffee and a lousy customer experience, the Bagelry is your place. If you prefer service with a smile and a laid back mountain attitude, head downtown to Java Groove or Muddy Buck. If you're headed to the highway, just hit the Starbucks in King Sooper or the one at El Rancho next to Qdoba. Any place in Evergreen is far better than the Bagelry. This used to be my go to in Evergreen. I have been a faithful customer for years. The new owner and change in staff is so disappointing. The bagels are not the same, it is understaffed, undertrained and they are rude. This was so different than the Bagelry I have loved for years. The first several times I thought they were just having a bad day. But NO... after multiple forgiving attempts and leaving frustrated I am done. I hope you can get it together.... I have several friends that have had the same experience and have given up too.... so sad to see a Evergreen business fall apart like this. read more

What happened?!? This used to be my family's go-to for early morning ski and hiking outings. We really would love to be able to support a local business but the changes The Bagelry has made in the last few months will be sending us elsewhere. We used to bring out-of-town guests here, bragging these were the best bagels west of New York. Now I'm writing this review to say I'll never be back. Since the new owner took over here the prices have increased several times. I understand, you have to make a profit to stay in business, but you can't raise your prices AND lower your quality. The bagel I'm eating this morning is about half the size of what they used to serve. Not only is it thinner and smaller in diameter, but I just realized the hole in the middle is 1 7/16 in diameter (not lying, I just measured it). A two inch hole in the middle of a thin bagel??? Seriously! In addition, instead of calling our former favorite the cranberry walnut, we call it the treasure hunt, because you're lucky to find more than two pieces of cranberry in an entire bagel. They've even found a way to put less "everything" on an everything bagel. This is not to mention extremely lackluster service and the "improvement" to the flow of ordering and paying that has made the wait for your food even longer. What a joyful spot to grab a hearty bagel sandwich for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you're a lox and bagel girl like myself - I recommend that number here. To say they load up on the ingredients is an understatement. They don't skimp - that's for sure. The smoked salmon was so densely packed in the bagel sandwich almost to the point I had to remove some. They have tons if options and such a nice serving staff that is so patient with you as you aimlessly stare at their blackboard menu chalk full of options. I'm not a real fan of bagels, but had the breakfast bagel with egg and sausage, and it was so DELICIOUS. The bagel wasn't hard, nor chewy chewy like so many others, it was just right. Wife enjoyed hers, too. Coffee wasn't very good, but then coffee is like wine and everybody has their own preferences and tastes. They do need to find a way to speed up the service/serving line. I've had good experiences in the past, but today arrived at 1:00 pm to a sign that says "closing at 2:00 pm today". I'm fine with an early closure and understand small businesses need to do that sometimes, except that the sign clearly said 2:00 and I had made a special trip out of my way to make this stop, an hour before the early closure. I even knocked on the window to the kid who was working at had apparently closed the store early (with dozens of bagels still on display) and I was conveniently ignored. I won't be back. read more

In the 15 minutes i was there they forgot to charge the people in front of me for 4 bagel, when the customer mentioned it they said keep it, and gave them my order by mistake, customer opened mine, gave it back, then worker opened it completely confused about who's it was, i was the only one waiting, hello!?! Very sad to see that it has gone so far downhill. Used to be one of our favorite places. There were only a couple of customers but the 2 people couldn't keep up and they had to remake an order which made our wait longer. Lots of things have been taken out like the sampler plate of bagel pieces and espresso machine. We have been going to the Bagelry for a long time. It has been generally pretty good. However, when we dropped in today the restaurant is totally reorganized. New staff, (impersonal and not polite), a number system replaces a waiter making the bagel you asked for. We asked for our bagels to be toasted, that was apparently too much work for the server. Then to add insult to injury, the lox spread was spread on so thin there were places where no spread was evident at all. I am always happy to pay a little more for a bagel when I walk in the door of a small operation like this. I do expect starbucks quality service and my bagel toasted and served with a decent amount of spread. I want personal friendly service. Even Einsteins gives you a personal bagel preparer, isn;t chincy with sparead and doesn't require a number system. The bottom line is there are other options in evergreen and I am not going to be spending my money here for a while. If I get hungry for a bagel I will just buy a bag from King Soopers. At least I can get my own order right and be nice to myself. Maybe in a couple of months I will try them again and see if service and product quality have improved. As I've said in some of my other reviews I'm from NJ/NY area and we tend to pride ourselves in certain things. Subs, Pizza/Italian, and Bagels are a few of them. (I probably judge the 3 categories the harshest) Are these good bagels? Yes and no. They're definitely the best I've had since moving to Colorado. So they probably are 5 star bagels for Colorado. But are they 5 star bagels in general? Nope. They have a good variety of toppings and I normally get the Lox and hummus on an everything bagel. The lox is piled sky high. They make breakfast wraps and also sell cream cheese in tiny containers (4oz). They sell prepacked cookies and some (I'm not sure if all) of the cookies are vegan. I got a chocolate peanut butter one that was delicious but these are baked off site. The staff has never been overly friendly nor have they been down right crabby or rude to me. They're just in "work" mode. So bottom line is I may be judging harshly but I guess that's what happens when you're an East Coast transplant. It's ok you can go the East Coast and tell us how much our microbrews suck. But overall they're the best bagel I've had since being in Colorado. Better than pre-packaged crap Thomas bagels, or better than bagels that Safeway sell in their bakery section which are a joke. read more

I have been going to the Bagelry for my whole life. For as long as I can remember, the Bagelry has been delivering amazing coffee, bagels, and breakfast sandwiches. Memories of childhood breakfasts are filled with the smells of freshly baked cinnamon raisin, blueberry, rocky mountain power, or everything bagels that my mom just picked up from the Bagelry. Even through the inflation of nostalgia, the Bagelry still lives up to my old memories. The Bagelry is the best, you don't need me to wax poetic about my childhood to tell you that. Why are these people still in business? They are late opening and always late with my order (even though I call it in days before). This last time their phone system automatically blocked my call. When I knocked on the door several times, I was ignored. I had to rush to King Soopers and was late for my meeting. I will be getting bagles elsewhere from now on. Despite the old pricing reflected on their website, The Bagelry's prices have gone up 20-30% recently. Don't get me wrong, the food and bagels are solid and because of this we used to spend a few hundred dollars there each year. Since their prices are now equivalent to or above Summit County prices that are meant to gouge the gapers, these locals will look elsewhere for our morning meals out. read more

Simply the best bagels I've ever had. If you are in Bergen Park (directly across from King Soopers) stop in and have one of their freshly made (on premises) and utterly delicious bagels. They also offer an assortment of house made cream cheeses. the best of which are not low in fat. Additionally they have free wifi and the excellent Dazbog coffee (roasted locally in Denver). Bottom line: The Baglery is absolutely the standard by which I measure all others, they set a very high bar. read more
