This Bakery and breakfast/lunch place has a quiet location on Cochran Street, in Simi Valley. Walking in, one is breathing the inviting air and fragrance of freshly baked breads. Yes, they have full loaves for sale. The dining area is a small space, yet warm. I came here expecting to find a significant selection of small baked goods (as per internet photos), instead, there was a very meager display case of a few items. I chose, the small raspberry pistachio bar (almost $5 with tax). While it had a comfortable bite mixed with softness and crisp, it was overwhelmed by the acidity of the raspberry filling. There was no pistachio taste to decipher, except for my last bite which had a small crumb of pistachio. There is a limited breakfast and lunch menu with some of the usual standard items you would find, in most other similar eateries.

The breakfast sausage sandwich was delicious and so my lavender latte! I also got a peach bun and it was soooo good. Their bread is outstanding. Everyone who interfaced with was super friendly and nice. I definitely would come back here again.

At last I have made it this restaurant: it's been on my list for awhile! I always like to support local restaurants in Simi Valley! And this restaurant is worth stopping in! And the amount of guest pouring in on a weekday morning shows that this is the place to dine in! The pastries are amazing and oh so fresh. Also they have some really unique pastries. Plus you can get breakfast and lunch here. On the breakfast menu, they have beautiful and yummy omelets that are made perfectly. The omelettes come with a little salad on the plate. The lunch menu consist of an array of sandwiches. All look so good so you can't go around. In addition the restaurant has solid hot and cold drinks. At this establishment you do order at the counter. They will bring the food to you. The restaurant does get busy and seating is limited: inside the restaurant there is a communal and an about three or four small tables. Plus there are some tables on the sidewalk! This place is definitely worth visiting.

My gf and I went to The Baker's Daughters for the first time and felt the food was underwhelming and overpriced. Two entrees, two iced coffees, and two pastries was $64. My gf got the Avocado Toast and the only standout was the bread. Everything else about the dish could easily be recreated at home, if not, better and it wouldn't cost $16. I got the Croque Madame and enjoyed my food. The bread was great and there's plenty of melted cheese. My problem is the amount of ham inside. It literally only comes with one slice. Seriously? An $18 entree that doesn't include sides or a drink and there's a single slice of deli meat inside? The coffee wasn't too expensive and tasted pretty good, but when you have a direct view of McKenna Koffee, it's easy to feel disappointed. I should've learned my lesson, but I didn't want to give up on the restaurant, so I got back in line to try their pastries. Unfortunately, it was the same story. I got the Caramel Espresso Brownie and Almond Orange Cake. The brownie was hard and crumbly. The cake tasted okay, but was small and unremarkable for $5. I really wanted to like The Baker's Daughters, but nothing about my experience tempts me to come back.

Love their sourdough and focaccia sooo much! I make my own sourdough but sometimes I get lazy and would rather just buy it. So I love that I can get the same fresh, homemade taste just down the street at the baker's daughter! The 'sour' taste is very noticeable in both the focaccia and sourdough, which I love. I also come here for their breakfast sandwiches. My favorite is the croque monsieur because I love Dijon mustard. Service is good and the atmosphere is nice. It's a lovely spot for lunch with friends.

Great food and great service! My family was in town staying at the hotel next-door for my wedding. Myself, my friends and family ate here almost every day! Great service, great food for a good price, and very conveniently placed in a shopping center. Free parking is always a plus! We even brought home some fresh bread and froze the lopes we were not able to eat on time, but they still heat up really well when frozen and last a very long time! I would love to come back!

so yum! Came here for breakfast. It was delicious. We got the prosciutto and ricotta on sourdough. The balsamic and pesto drizzled pulled it all together. The pastries. I got roped into buying two and will probably come back for more tomorrow. The orange and chocolate tart and the pistachio cookie. I didn't expect the tart to be so soft in the middle so that was surprising but none the less was delicious. The cookie was subtle and was good with the coffee. The inside was cute with lots of seating. Fun music and very inviting. The employees were so sweet too and very attentive. I think it's so cool they make the sourdough and sell by the loaf. Will definitely be back!

Omg. Their bread. It is so tasty! So soft, great chew, and super fresh and delicious! I would come back just for the bread!!! I got the second item on the menu, the $16 buttermilk breakfast sandwich which was served fresh, warm, and comfy-filling while not making me over full. It was perfect for me, but I know some people might need more than just the sandwich. I also got their cold brew which was...ok? I got oat milk and vanilla added to it, so I think I'll try it without the vanilla next time to be able to taste the cold brew better. Well staffed, and they all look busy, constantly in motion. Definitely gives busy coffeehouse buzz vibes! Clean and Cute decor: white, tan and houseplants. I will definitely be back!

Stopped by for a quick bite. Enjoyed the Mache Latte, an orange roll and the Buttermilk Sando, without the bacon. The Sando was pretty good, eggs were soft and fluffy. We asked if the orange roll could be warmed in the oven and they did a great job heating it up. Seems better to have a warmed roll rather than just room temperature treat. The restaurant features a walk up counter to order. A large oven is prominent just behind the counter. The cook's kitchen is a bit out of sight. Water crock is up front to serve yourself. Bus your own dishes in the yellow bins. They do bring your food out to your table though. Parking is in a small strip mall area just off the 118 freeway.

The bread at The Bakers' Daughters is excellent! So is the food. Quality ingredients assembled in creative and delicious ways. The coffee, too, is excellent. The menu changes from day to day with some items available most or all days. The restaurant is clean and modern and easily accessible. Staff members are friendly and helpful and happy to answer questions and/or explain what the food and beverages are: what's in them, spice level, etc. We're glad to have this wonderful restaurant here in Simi, offering something other than the more typical eating establishments in Simi Valley. We definitely recommend it. read more

I've been three times now and it's really good. I get the sourdough every time but I really want to get the focaccia to go because I tried it on a sandwich and it's also amazing. Stopped in today to check it out. Super cute place with a really friendly staff. Took their time to explain everything to me too. I got the avocado toast, drip coffee with rosemary syrup and oat milk. The sour dough bread rivals Tartine and it's incredible. The homemade rosemary syrup was delicious! I can't wait till the espresso machine is up and running. My mom got the ham and cheese sandwhich and I'm not gonna butcher the name, but for the price it was very very light in the ham dept. one more slice would have covered the bread. She loved it though. I will definitely be back for bread and pastries. Looks like the kinda place you visit often to try all the goodies. read more

I can't accurately describe how GOOD the quality of food is here you'll just have to go taste it yourself. I bought a loaf of Buttermilk bread and I've never had a bread that executed the perfect ratio of taste and texture as this did. The orange bun and cinnamon bun were sooo delicious and not overwhelmingly sweet. Love that this place is in Simi definitely going to be buying more loafs from here! read more

We popped in here on their very first day of opening and we've been devoted customers since. Their sourdough bread is the best I've ever had! I used to have fresh sourdough shipped to me from NorCal and now it's in the comfort of my hometown. I've had wonderful sandwiches, an insane chocolate cake, their croques are heavenly and quiche are perfection. I'm thrilled about their recent addition of croissants and a lineup of other breakfast items! I've loved watching them grow and can't wait to try more of their newest additions. read more

Delightful food. I had the Vegetarian Pizza (Tomato and Pesto) with Vietnamese Cold Brew. I tried the Avocado Toast as well and while the seeds on top are not my favorite, the overall toast was excellent and large. The pizza, however, was a showstopper. Just enough of fresh pesto and the tomatoes were perfect. Firm and not too watery at all. Absolutely loved it. The coffee was good too, strong taste. read more

I went to The Bakers Daughter with some friends for brunch! They had legitimately THE BEST orange twist pastry that I've ever had and an iced americano to pair. This family/woman owned bakery has quickly climbed the ranks of #1 bakery/brunch spot. Wow! I mean Wowza!! That was absolutely freaking delicious!! We started with Rosemary Lattes, homemade fresh lime aid, Croque Monsieur (super yummy and decadent) a sensational Secret Egg Sandwich (freaking delicious!!). My favorite cafe! I live in Orange County but I always have to visit any time I am in town. The avocado tartine is incredible along with the porkalicious. And the iced lattes and mate are my favorite drinks to get! I have an amazing bread cafe in Newport Beach near me but BD does it 10x better in my opinion so the drive is worth it anytime I have a free day. I also have not found any cafe in OC or LA area that has mate so I was so very happy to find it here! All of my friends love this cafe now too, and this is our favorite spot for breakfast when visiting. The Baker's Daughters is something special and you wont regret stopping by. read more

I've gone to this bakery a few times since it's opened! It is a cute spot, having an aesthetic interior with yummy coffee drinks and beautiful pastries. However, I think it is the friendliness of the cashier/barista and bakers which makes it a spot that I like to frequent!! Today, we got lattes, chocolate cakes, and pizza. The latte was about $4.50 and the pizza was about $5. It was pretty busy, but there was always at least one table open. read more

The food here is wonderful. Really, really excellent: fresh, with a unique menu. It's primarily self-serve, with a casual ambiance and limited outdoor seating. The Baker's Daughters was quite busy when I visited, and seems to have many dedicated customers. The premium pricing supports the quality so this is a place I save for a special treat. First off the staff was very friendly and nice, service was excellent! But that's pretty much where the good thing about this place ends. The food was extremely pricey for the portion and quality. The grilled ham and cheese had no other flavor than the burnt flavor. It was not edible but the staff was nice enough to swap it out for something else for me. Got the avocado tartine as a replacement, and yet again the bread was burnt. I just ate the avocado which was okay. We will not be returning. read more

This is my new favorite coffee place in Simi! Their lattes are perfect-- great strong coffee. Bakers Daughters has a terrific selection of bakery bites and lunch options. The atmosphere is very modern and trendy, which I'm glad to finally see in Simi. Their service is great-- however I did ask for a large coffee and perhaps that's not something they offer because I still received a 16oz. size. Not a problem, but just a recommendation to tell the customer they only offer the one size of that is indeed the case. I'll still keep coming back and giving them business. So happy to have a small-business coffee shop in Simi! read more

Who is giving five star reviews to this place? Every single item ordered is burnt beyond repair - not sandwich shop crisped but black/charred burnt. They have to be padding their reviews as they're the talk of basically every single Simi Valley FB group of have serious issues that makes their food inedible read more

Wow, wow, wow!! As soon as you walk in you are immediately hit with the amazing smell of freshly baked bread and the wonderful aroma of high-quality coffee. I got the lavender latte and a slice of their banana bread. Both amazing- the lavender latte had the perfect amount of sweetness and real, fresh, lavender flavor. The service was also amazing! My only negative of this place is that they don't open earlier than 8!! So, SO good!! read more

We use to love this place but the last time we went the young man at the cashier was so rude. Last time we ordered a sandwich and it said it had vegetables on it and it had maybe 3 slivers. The sandwich was awesome but the veggie thing bugged us. I know we are in rough times, but come on! We'll give this place a try in a few months and after the cashier quits. read more

I've been a huge fan of this place since they opened however, it seems as if they've hired new management or somebody else bought the place everything that I used to buy from the sourdough to the focaccia was completely charred black. When I asked the cashier for one without black on it he said "that's how it's supposed to be, ovens do that." when something is burnt black, it turns into a carcinogen and loses its nutrient value. I truly hope the original owners if they are still there see this and adjust what is going on. I really do love their bread when it is baked properly. read more

If you haven't discovered the new bakery in Simi Valley, don't put it off. The Baker's Daughters is located at 131 Cochran St Suite B. It doesn't have signage yet except handwritten on the front door. It's between a martial arts studio and a sushi place. It's near the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. The sourdough bread is absolutely amazing. read more

I would recommend enjoying them earlier in the day, ideally with coffee or tea. Since we were sharing, our server sliced each croissant in three pieces. Thank you! The cafe itself is charming, with warm dark wood, cozy seating, and a fireplace that adds to the ambiance. Indoor temperature was a bit cool during our visit, but still a pleasant environment, and there is outdoor seating as well. The staff was friendly and service was quick. One small note: it would help if the staff had a better grasp of the menu and felt more confident describing it. The food speaks for itself and is worth highlighting. Parking was close and easy, and I especially enjoyed the light jazz playing in the background, including standards sung beautifully by Ella Fitzgerald. P.S. I always forget to snap photos. I was asked to order a cake for a Retirement celebration. Ordering a large cake for a grand celebration put a lot of pressure on me. Costco is nice and the pricing is great, but it lacks the wow factor that I wanted for this special celebration. We had co-workers that were retiring after over 20 years of service, one retiree had over 50. So this cake had to be spectacular in looks and taste. After researching and reading many reviews, I decided to stop by and speak with Skiff to see what they offered. The minute you walk into their quaint bakery, it definitely felt unique and warm. Speaking with the gal behind the counter who assisted me in answering all my questions on the cake, pricing and decorations to make the cake look very classy and have the wow factor. I wanted whipped cream for the frosting, but was concerned that it might be too soft. I have had whipped cream that has a marshmallow texture and is not too sweet. This is exactly what was given to me to taste test. It was delicious. Since this was going to be for about 50 co-workers, we decided on a white cake, fresh strawberry, custard Bavarian cream with whipped cream. The decoration was subtle and classy with touches of gold and white chocolate as decoration on the cake. I decided to order cupcakes to bring home to try their flavors. Each cupcake was unique and so delicious. So I knew the cake was going to be amazing. Picking up the cake, they helped me to my car and ensured the cake was not going to slide around through the drive. How thoughtful. And of course, the cake did not disappoint. They had white shaved chocolates with gold touches to look like flowers in the corners of the cake. It was stunningly beautiful, classy and just so delicious. This is an amazing, unique wholesome bakery. I just hope they stay small, personable and special. I would highly recommend ordering any baking needs from Skiff's Cakes. You will not be disappointed and will have a wow factor for your guest to enjoy during any special occasion or gathering. Or even taking a dozen cookies or cupcakes to any gathering. I visited The Baker's Daughters and was so impressed! I had their chai latte, and it was absolutely delicious--one of the best I've had. We had just come back from Paris, where we'd been indulging in croissants daily, so I was on the hunt for a croissant that could compare. This place didn't disappoint! Their croissant was incredibly crunchy, flaky, and almost as good as the ones in Paris. They also have fantastic breakfast options. The Secret Egg Sandwich was a real treat--delightful and packed with flavor. I've also tried the Buttermilk Sando, and it was just as satisfying. Im not a big reviewer but this bakery, seriously!! It's so good!!! The place is very cute and clean. Everything is organic, healthy and amazing! Easily one of the best sandwiches I ever had and the rosemary coffee is DELICIOUS. You have to try it! I had the orange bun too and it was fantastic. You can taste the quality of the ingredient. Baker's Daughter is absolutely delicious! I went with a friend, and we both loved everything we tried. The food was fantastic, and the lavender matcha latte was perfect.
