    Buttermilk Breakfast Sando

Wow! I had no idea this place was here! I looked up coffee shops in Simi and while this isn't exactly a convenient location for me, it was well worth the drive. I would recommend people stay in the nearby hotel when they visit just for the easy access to this place. Love love loved the matcha the most! I got 2, one I drank there and one to go. I got it unsweetened which was perfection. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. The greens tasted fresh and the cheese was super flavorful. For the baked goods, I got the pan de queijo and the cinnamon bun. To be honest, I wasn't super impressed with either of these items but I'm willing to try the others. The cinnamon bun was just too sweet for me and the pan de queijo was just very dry. I loved the outdoor seating, it was really relaxing. I went on a weekday morning and it wasn't crowded at all. The staff was super friendly and willing to give me recommendations when I asked. I will definitely be coming back!

So happy I finally got to try Baker's Daughters! A few moms and I planned a meetup here, and it was the perfect spot to gather. The bakery itself is absolutely adorable, and the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the heavenly smell of fresh baked goods. The service was outstanding! Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I ordered a hot Vietnamese latte with oat milk, and it was sooooo delicious. I'll definitely be ordering it again. I also tried one of their mini bundt cakes (I believe it was lemon), and it was incredibly moist, flavorful, and perfectly sweet. The rest of our group ordered a variety of pastries and coffees, and everyone was happy with their choices. A few moms even took home fresh baked bread, which looked amazing! Overall, it was such a wonderful experience. I can definitely see myself coming back!

What a great place for a solid breakfast and coffee. There is plenty parking and lots of seating areas to accommodate your party. My best friend got Croque Monsieur and I got the All in one plate with an americano. Then we split a strawberry matcha pastry that I've never seen sold any where else which was cool but it was stale. I could see how this could be really good fresh, but they may not sell enough so that being said, I'd probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, I'd come back if I was in the area.

Headed up to The Ronald Reagan Library to check it out and arrived an hour before it opened so Yelped Best Avocado Toast Toast in the area. Yelp didn't lead me astray when The Baker's Daughter returned as top pick. You can find The Bakers Daughter tucked inside a shopping center just off of Cochran and Madeira Road. The place is cute with a few tables inside as well as some patio seating. There is an open kitchen so you can see them mixing batches of fresh bread daily and racks of fresh bread out for fresh sale. A small bakery selection of fresh pastries and sweet bread selections. I ordered the chocolate chip espresso scone to try and was blown away of its flavor! So good and moist! Also we ordered an Avocado Tartine and the Sausage and Egg Sando. The avocado Tartine was delicious, I opted to add an egg. All so fresh and a generous portion of smashed creamy avocado. But for me the star of the show was the sausage and egg Sando! Oh sweet lawd this now tops my list of favorite breakfast sandwhich! And I don't know how I'm going to survive living 50 miles away from it! Made on baked fresh brioche roll, in house homemade incredible sausage patty with an egg and the most delicious chipotle aioli and tomato jam that I think I'm going to dream about it tonight! I professed my love of the Sausage Egg Sando to the kindest team member who was working the register. He was so friendly and he shared that some people say it's too spicy but my taste buds which don't really do super spicy thought it was barely spicy at all! It is seriously full of flavor and simply perfection in every bite! The team member also shared it was originally a "special" but so many people asked for it often it's now been added to the menu. He shared that the tomato jam, sausage patty, chipotle aioli and bread were all freshly made incredible sausage house too! I can't wait to find myself back in the area just for that Sando!

At last I have made it this restaurant: it's been on my list for awhile! I always like to support local restaurants in Simi Valley! And this restaurant is worth stopping in! And the amount of guest pouring in on a weekday morning shows that this is the place to dine in! The pastries are amazing and oh so fresh. Also they have some really unique pastries. Plus you can get breakfast and lunch here. On the breakfast menu, they have beautiful and yummy omelets that are made perfectly. The omelettes come with a little salad on the plate. The lunch menu consist of an array of sandwiches. All look so good so you can't go around. In addition the restaurant has solid hot and cold drinks. At this establishment you do order at the counter. They will bring the food to you. The restaurant does get busy and seating is limited: inside the restaurant there is a communal and an about three or four small tables. Plus there are some tables on the sidewalk! This place is definitely worth visiting.

We had the avocado toast with and without egg and the buttermilk sando.

My gf and I went to The Baker's Daughters for the first time and felt the food was underwhelming and overpriced. Two entrees, two iced coffees, and two pastries was $64. My gf got the Avocado Toast and the only standout was the bread. Everything else about the dish could easily be recreated at home, if not, better and it wouldn't cost $16. I got the Croque Madame and enjoyed my food. The bread was great and there's plenty of melted cheese. My problem is the amount of ham inside. It literally only comes with one slice. Seriously? An $18 entree that doesn't include sides or a drink and there's a single slice of deli meat inside? The coffee wasn't too expensive and tasted pretty good, but when you have a direct view of McKenna Koffee, it's easy to feel disappointed. I should've learned my lesson, but I didn't want to give up on the restaurant, so I got back in line to try their pastries. Unfortunately, it was the same story. I got the Caramel Espresso Brownie and Almond Orange Cake. The brownie was hard and crumbly. The cake tasted okay, but was small and unremarkable for $5. I really wanted to like The Baker's Daughters, but nothing about my experience tempts me to come back.

    Raspberry pistachio bar

This Bakery and breakfast/lunch place has a quiet location on Cochran Street, in Simi Valley. Walking in, one is breathing the inviting air and fragrance of freshly baked breads. Yes, they have full loaves for sale. The dining area is a small space, yet warm. I came here expecting to find a significant selection of small baked goods (as per internet photos), instead, there was a very meager display case of a few items. I chose, the small raspberry pistachio bar (almost $5 with tax). While it had a comfortable bite mixed with softness and crisp, it was overwhelmed by the acidity of the raspberry filling. There was no pistachio taste to decipher, except for my last bite which had a small crumb of pistachio. There is a limited breakfast and lunch menu with some of the usual standard items you would find, in most other similar eateries.

Love their sourdough and focaccia sooo much! I make my own sourdough but sometimes I get lazy and would rather just buy it. So I love that I can get the same fresh, homemade taste just down the street at the baker's daughter! The 'sour' taste is very noticeable in both the focaccia and sourdough, which I love. I also come here for their breakfast sandwiches. My favorite is the croque monsieur because I love Dijon mustard. Service is good and the atmosphere is nice. It's a lovely spot for lunch with friends.

    Peach bun

The breakfast sausage sandwich was delicious and so my lavender latte! I also got a peach bun and it was soooo good. Their bread is outstanding. Everyone who interfaced with was super friendly and nice. I definitely would come back here again.

Great food and great service! My family was in town staying at the hotel next-door for my wedding. Myself, my friends and family ate here almost every day! Great service, great food for a good price, and very conveniently placed in a shopping center. Free parking is always a plus! We even brought home some fresh bread and froze the lopes we were not able to eat on time, but they still heat up really well when frozen and last a very long time! I would love to come back!

How'd you like to drop by for some freshly-baked treats on a reasonable price in a family owned bakery in the Simi Valley area? If you are passing by the 118 freeway, exit on Madera or 1st and drop by The Baker's Daughter. It's a small nook where everything revolves around their bread; fresh coffee, sodas, Ice Cream, limonata (lemonade), or any other drinks you may wish to zip in.

we destroyed it, but the orange and chocolate tart, pistachio cookie and the toast
    Ryann L.

so yum! Came here for breakfast. It was delicious. We got the prosciutto and ricotta on sourdough. The balsamic and pesto drizzled pulled it all together. The pastries. I got roped into buying two and will probably come back for more tomorrow. The orange and chocolate tart and the pistachio cookie. I didn't expect the tart to be so soft in the middle so that was surprising but none the less was delicious. The cookie was subtle and was good with the coffee. The inside was cute with lots of seating. Fun music and very inviting. The employees were so sweet too and very attentive. I think it's so cool they make the sourdough and sell by the loaf. Will definitely be back!

Since I work long hours during the week and usually am not up for jumping right up on the weekends, that is cool with me! DH will go over and pick out fresh pastries for us for breakfast/brunch. He'll usually select one savory item and one sweet treat. Often, their Japanese-style egg salad tucked inside a pastry is so perfect for me. The actual dough is like a marriage between a bagel and a croissant. It's lighter than a bagel, but it's flavorful and tender like a croissant, but not flaky. The egg salad filling is just right for my tastebuds, and it provides protein in a fancy, delicious fashion. Today there was a hint of savory garlic on the pastry, and that added a nice flavor accent. Today's sweet pastry was an open-faced tart filled with a smooth, light chocolate base, topped with creamy custard, and then sliced pears on top. Mmm. I like the choice of pears offering a hint of the autumn season ahead. The last time we had out of town guests staying with us, we took my them to Le Herisson one morning. They fell in love with the food and the sweet, simple ambiance. The next morning, my sister-in-law got up early and went back over, bringing back a box of pastries for everyone to share. That definitely tells the story of how much everyone enjoyed the food offerings. It's a special treat to have a quality bakery like this in Simi. We prefer it to another well-regarded bakery on the west end of town, which is a different style and more expensive.

It's my opinion that it really is hard to find a local bakery offering sweet and savory pastries freshly made with a very personal touch, they are far and few these days. This place also offered daily specials and a variety of coffee drinks, small dining area to enjoy the treasures baked and brewed daily. So many wonderful pastries to choose from, so more visits will be in the future to explore the deliciousness baked daily. She is open from Thursday to Sunday and closed Monday through Wednesday. Very friendly staff ready to guide you through the many pastries baked fresh each day. This is an incredible bakery to have close to home, it does remind me of establishments you would visit in France or Italy or other European countries. If you like freshly baked pastries from a boutique local friendly bakery then Le Herisson is the place to go to. Bravissima, I just can't say enough other than let your taste buds tell you.
