Finally something worth writing about in Simi!! I have a gluten issue but have found if properly fermented and with quality flour I can eat bread without any issue- other than guilt . The food is so delicious at The Baker's Daughters. I never take pictures of my food but it was so good that I had to share. The Secret Egg Sando is absolutely delicious with details like the tiniest bit of crunch from crispy cheese to match the soft egg. It's beautiful. Such a gem in Simi Valley! We have been eyeing this place for sometime and finally had a chance to stop by. My husband got the iced oat-milk vanilla latte and the banana bread, I got the iced lavender latte with the avocado toast. The atmosphere and ambience is calm, very aesthetically pleasing. We loved that they had outside seating. The coffee's came out first and so delicious! The vanilla was so fresh. The avocado toast was so flavorful and delicious. The food is delicious! Visited this place that I have been hearing so much about and was not a bit dissatisfied. Only thing that is an issue is that there is not enough room to eat, that is a great problem to have. They have tables right by the parked cars, but they can't help that...they are busy making some delicious meals. If there is no room and you can't eat there, take it to go! I had the lavender latte and brioche breakfast sandwich, so savory and tasty. I then took home a homemade chocolate chip cookie...yummy!! Every city needs more place just like this. I've been waiting for their opening for quite a while after learning about them through Zef BBQ (another amazing local treat) First, the quality. Yes things might be "more expensive" but, you are paying for quality, know-how, & freshness. Making true sourdough is, simply put, not an easy task. It's similar to pouring a concrete patio. I can definitely mix some concrete up, pour it, TRY to finish it. Will it come out looking like a piece of concrete, sure. Will it be beautifully finished, eh probably not. That's why you pay an expert who has spent 100s of hours refining their process. Know what it's supposed to look like, feel likeThat's what these amazing people have done at this bakery. Now that's just the sourdough they also have a small cafe menu. Outside of a SD loaf, I have only tried the meatball sandwich. It was very very good. Again, everything painstakingly handcrafted. 10/10 recommend. Don't be alarmed if you may show up and they don't have bread because they ran out or their starter had a problem. These are kinks that will get worked out but, also what give this its charm. That's what I love about it. Lastly, I think a business can offer something great but, not have good people involved. That's just as much a part of the recipe for success. They are so friendly/nice/all of the above. The owners are wonderful. You can feel their pride and enthusiasm for what they are building. As you walk in, the look, feel and smell say it all! Fresh baked and delicious food and coffee that was perfect. We are traveling the country in our motorhome and make it a point to stop at the best coffee shops and bakeries. I am so excited that little simi valley got an amazing new bakery that is both amazing quality food and aesthetically pleasing on the inside! You can tell the attention to detail, inside and out. All the staff was extremely friendly and suggested we try the meatball sandwich. Holy cow. It was so good! The pesto was to die for and the bread is freshly baked! We even purchased a sourdough loaf to take home with us. I can't wait for their menu to grow as they get more established and hope to see some tea on the list in the future. Our first visit was amazing! They opened yesterday, but I would call it a...soft opening. There is no sign up, no menus up, and limited on what they are making. That being said, what we ordered was very, very delicious. We ordered the avocado toast, a Croque monsieur (It's a toasted ham and cheese sandwich) and a loaf of the sourdough. The sourdough was five stars all day long. And since everything else we ordered was made with the sourdough, you can see why it's so good. The avocados they used for the toast were ripe and perfect. But the bread was the star. The Croque monsieur was rich, flavorful and awesome. They use a mustard that balanced the sandwich out perfectly. We didn't order any coffee, but we're talking to the barista and he is doing some amazing coffee drinks. He pairs the coffee drinks around the food items. Very cool. The prices are on the more expensive side, but not crazy. For the quality of food you are getting, the prices are not bad. Once they get everything dialed in, this will probably go up to five stars. I know it's a new place and i love bread so i really want to love this place. It's close to work and convenient. I've been here twice hoping my second visit would be better but sadly it wasn't. This last time i got a chocolate chip cookie for a snack later. When i was ready to eat it later in the day, I realized it was hard as a rock. Oh well... I think the food is pretty good. The atmosphere is OK! The staff was super friendly but they did forget to get us a fork for about 15 min into our meal. Also, the menu is good, but it's just black text on a wall so a bit hard to figure out exactly what you're trying to get without asking the cashier what each item is. Some pictures or a menu pan-flit would honestly make this place my new go to! Otherwise, will still eat here again. My review is more like 4.5 stars read more

Oh my YUM! I was looking for someplace new to eat in Simi and came across Yelp reviews for this fairly new restaurant. It is casual dining with order-at-the-counter service. The atmosphere is light, bright, clean, and welcoming. Not to dis Simi Valley, but it is an older community and most of the restaurants reflect that in their atmosphere - dark, carpeted, lots and lots of oak. The Baker's Daughter is the opposite. A nice little bonus to the atmosphere... They have a huge wooden table in the middle of their kitchen for making bread. If you are lucky enough to have a seat with a view, you can watch the bread being made. My sister and I both ordered the avocado tartine and added a fried egg. The food was delivered to our table in just a few minutes. It was delicious and the portion was very generous. My sister said it was the best avocado spread she has ever had. It was perfectly seasoned and topped with radish, seeds, and marinated red onions to give it the right amount of tanginess without being overwhelming. The egg was cooked perfectly. And the bread, oh, the sourdough bread! Chewy in all the right places, soft and airy in all the right places. We ended up going back up to the counter after we ate and each bought a loaf to take home. When I go to see my daughter and her family in Simi, this will be my new go-to! Finally had a chance to stop by The Baker's Daughters and I am looking forward to going back to try more! I went early-ish on a Wednesday morning and they had a number of baked goods in addition to the breads. I chose a slice of the lemon cake and one of the pecan cake, plus a baguette. All were outstanding. The lemon cake was very lemony without tasting fake (like some lemon extract baked goods can) - I love a super lemony lemon cake and it did not disappoint. It was moist and dense and exactly what I was hoping for. The pecan cake was equally delicious - almost felt a bit more like a bread as it wasn't super sweet, which I enjoyed. I shared it with a colleague who baked and they also liked it! The baguette was also yummy, though more on the "rustic" side - not like a thin baguette you would get at Panera or someplace. I enjoyed it. I want to go back and try some other breads - the woman helping me said her favorite is their sourdough focaccia which I'm now dying to try! I'll have to pop by more often till I can find that one. Love having another baked goods spot. I didn't try their coffee this time around but they have really good looking choices - including a matte tea which you don't see a ton of places, and Vietnamese coffee, which we love. Great spot in Simi. There is nothing like this in the area. It feels like you are a cool bakery somewhere in Venice. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious. I had the meatball Sandwich. I can honestly say I would compare this to a panini in the heart of Florence Italy. The focaccia bread it comes on is incredible, which you can also buy a loaf of. I went with their sourdough loaf to take home. I cannot wait to go back and try more!!!y only critique would be I wish they had a better selection of beverages to have with my panini.
