I always enjoy coming to this hole in the wall bakery. Amazing bread and sandwiches! The staff are always friendly and it feels cozy to dine here.

This Bakery and breakfast/lunch place has a quiet location on Cochran Street, in Simi Valley. Walking in, one is breathing the inviting air and fragrance of freshly baked breads. Yes, they have full loaves for sale. The dining area is a small space, yet warm. I came here expecting to find a significant selection of small baked goods (as per internet photos), instead, there was a very meager display case of a few items. I chose, the small raspberry pistachio bar (almost $5 with tax). While it had a comfortable bite mixed with softness and crisp, it was overwhelmed by the acidity of the raspberry filling. There was no pistachio taste to decipher, except for my last bite which had a small crumb of pistachio. There is a limited breakfast and lunch menu with some of the usual standard items you would find, in most other similar eateries.

The breakfast sausage sandwich was delicious and so my lavender latte! I also got a peach bun and it was soooo good. Their bread is outstanding. Everyone who interfaced with was super friendly and nice. I definitely would come back here again.

At last I have made it this restaurant: it's been on my list for awhile! I always like to support local restaurants in Simi Valley! And this restaurant is worth stopping in! And the amount of guest pouring in on a weekday morning shows that this is the place to dine in! The pastries are amazing and oh so fresh. Also they have some really unique pastries. Plus you can get breakfast and lunch here. On the breakfast menu, they have beautiful and yummy omelets that are made perfectly. The omelettes come with a little salad on the plate. The lunch menu consist of an array of sandwiches. All look so good so you can't go around. In addition the restaurant has solid hot and cold drinks. At this establishment you do order at the counter. They will bring the food to you. The restaurant does get busy and seating is limited: inside the restaurant there is a communal and an about three or four small tables. Plus there are some tables on the sidewalk! This place is definitely worth visiting.

My gf and I went to The Baker's Daughters for the first time and felt the food was underwhelming and overpriced. Two entrees, two iced coffees, and two pastries was $64. My gf got the Avocado Toast and the only standout was the bread. Everything else about the dish could easily be recreated at home, if not, better and it wouldn't cost $16. I got the Croque Madame and enjoyed my food. The bread was great and there's plenty of melted cheese. My problem is the amount of ham inside. It literally only comes with one slice. Seriously? An $18 entree that doesn't include sides or a drink and there's a single slice of deli meat inside? The coffee wasn't too expensive and tasted pretty good, but when you have a direct view of McKenna Koffee, it's easy to feel disappointed. I should've learned my lesson, but I didn't want to give up on the restaurant, so I got back in line to try their pastries. Unfortunately, it was the same story. I got the Caramel Espresso Brownie and Almond Orange Cake. The brownie was hard and crumbly. The cake tasted okay, but was small and unremarkable for $5. I really wanted to like The Baker's Daughters, but nothing about my experience tempts me to come back.

Love their sourdough and focaccia sooo much! I make my own sourdough but sometimes I get lazy and would rather just buy it. So I love that I can get the same fresh, homemade taste just down the street at the baker's daughter! The 'sour' taste is very noticeable in both the focaccia and sourdough, which I love. I also come here for their breakfast sandwiches. My favorite is the croque monsieur because I love Dijon mustard. Service is good and the atmosphere is nice. It's a lovely spot for lunch with friends.

Great food and great service! My family was in town staying at the hotel next-door for my wedding. Myself, my friends and family ate here almost every day! Great service, great food for a good price, and very conveniently placed in a shopping center. Free parking is always a plus! We even brought home some fresh bread and froze the lopes we were not able to eat on time, but they still heat up really well when frozen and last a very long time! I would love to come back!

If you are passing by the 118 freeway, exit on Madera or 1st and drop by The Baker's Daughter. It's a small nook where everything revolves around their bread; fresh coffee, sodas, Ice Cream, limonata (lemonade), or any other drinks you may wish to zip in.

I really enjoyed the bakers daughter! I got the citrus chicken sandwich and my mom got the croque monsieur. My mom raved about her sandwich and loved it. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich, but definitely want to try another menu item next time.

so yum! Came here for breakfast. It was delicious. We got the prosciutto and ricotta on sourdough. The balsamic and pesto drizzled pulled it all together. The pastries. I got roped into buying two and will probably come back for more tomorrow. The orange and chocolate tart and the pistachio cookie. I didn't expect the tart to be so soft in the middle so that was surprising but none the less was delicious. The cookie was subtle and was good with the coffee. The inside was cute with lots of seating. Fun music and very inviting. The employees were so sweet too and very attentive. I think it's so cool they make the sourdough and sell by the loaf. Will definitely be back!

Omg. Their bread. It is so tasty! So soft, great chew, and super fresh and delicious! I would come back just for the bread!!! I got the second item on the menu, the $16 buttermilk breakfast sandwich which was served fresh, warm, and comfy-filling while not making me over full. It was perfect for me, but I know some people might need more than just the sandwich. I also got their cold brew which was...ok? I got oat milk and vanilla added to it, so I think I'll try it without the vanilla next time to be able to taste the cold brew better. Well staffed, and they all look busy, constantly in motion. Definitely gives busy coffeehouse buzz vibes! Clean and Cute decor: white, tan and houseplants. I will definitely be back!

Stopped by for a quick bite. Enjoyed the Mache Latte, an orange roll and the Buttermilk Sando, without the bacon. The Sando was pretty good, eggs were soft and fluffy. We asked if the orange roll could be warmed in the oven and they did a great job heating it up. Seems better to have a warmed roll rather than just room temperature treat. The restaurant features a walk up counter to order. A large oven is prominent just behind the counter. The cook's kitchen is a bit out of sight. Water crock is up front to serve yourself. Bus your own dishes in the yellow bins. They do bring your food out to your table though. Parking is in a small strip mall area just off the 118 freeway.

What a gem!! I can't believe I've been sleeping on The Baker's Daughters all this time!! How did I not know about this place?? Everything on the menu is incredible! The avocado toast exceeds expectations, it's amazing and literally the best I've ever had in my life. I wish I could eat it every day. My husband had the pork sandwich and said he keeps dreaming about it when he's hungry. We've been 3 times in the last week. I can't get enough. And the staff are all so friendly. We're counting down the minutes until our next visit. You must go if you haven't yet! read more

Yes they had good service which is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars, yea the ambiance is nice but they do not know how to run a place when it gets busy. All of our coffee orders came out wrong, acai bowl was so watery I could drink it and they all looked confused and lost. read more

I was Soo excited to try a new cafe in Simi. Besides it being cute inside the coffee and chocolate chip cookie I ordered were sub par. The cookie was rock hard and the iced rosemary latte I ordered tasted like nothing. Sadly, I don't think I'd be returning. read more

The service was really good. I had the egg sandwich, good flavor, but the egg itself was super nasty. It was like some whipped, quiche like thing with no seasoning. I wish the menu description would've described the egg, because I never would've ordered it. I had to force myself to finish it. Wow!!! I was told about this place just opening from a friend. VERY friendly and patient service (since I had no idea what to get). The Switchel drink is amazing and refreshing (not to mention great for the tummy!) and I had the Croque Monsieur and it was sooooo good! Cheesy, crusty bread of fab!!! don't get the Shakshouka, it was disgusting. It's supposed to be fried eggs, it was boiled in the sauce. I'm getting nauseous thinking about it. My boyfriend got the BTLA sandwich and it was bland. The viennese Latte was wayyyy too sweet. And it took forever to get the food. The bread is good. Do yourself a favor and only get pastries here. read more

I was in Simi for the afternoon and was excited to try this place based on the yelp reviews of certain items, namely the avocado toast and the egg sandwich. I was immediately told by the person behind the counter that they were out of both of those and other items too. I was offered no other suggestions at that point from the person taking my order. Since I was at a loss as to what to order and there were people in line behind me I just decided to leave and go somewhere else. Oh well. I don't live in the area so I will probably not be back. read more

Super disappointed . I placed a special order, for a sliced almond cake, which requires 48 hours for prep time. I picked it up today and when I got home I realized the almonds were chopped and not sliced. The cake has a completely different texture consistency. So I called to inquire on why they used chopped and not sliced and I was told by the employee that since it was a special order and they didn't have sliced almonds on hand they that used chopped. The cake tastes horrible and as mentioned above the texture and consistency are totally off. They didn't even make sure that the nuts were chopped evenly so parts of the cake are super dry and chunky and other parts of the cake are moist with smaller pieces of almonds. A simple phone call to ask if I still wanted the cake prior to making the substitution would have been the responsible thing to do. Seeing as I placed the order on Tuesday and picked it up on Friday they had ample time to confirm with me. I will not be returning and it's bad business when your team makes excuses and does not take accountability . Paying customers help keep the lights on and happy customers help to grow your business. read more

You wont be disappointed. Hard working staff and owners. They take the time to explain process and answer any question. Get there early specifically the weekends line will out the door. Be patient as all sandwiches and such are made to order. Must try avocado toast.....its life changing! Family style. 2 big tables so you can sit and have conversation with other guest. read more

This place is a gem for sure. Fresh baked long fermented sourdough bread is a treat to have in our city. I love the laid-back vibe and the bright airy shop. Small eating room but they have added seating outside. I quite enjoy the larger family style seating inside allowing you to enjoy some food with a perfect stranger and get to know your neighbors. Porkalicious and meatball sandwich were delicious, cold brew and switchel were great, and the bread is wonderful. The staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

I was extremely reluctant to do this review. I do not want anyone else finding out about this place. Simi Valley doesn't deserve a place like this. The food is beyond top-notch. I cooked for a living for a lot of years, and I worked at some very prominent upscale restaurants. Citrus on Melrose with Michelle Richard. Rebecca's on Main with Bruce Martyr. Seventh, Heaven on Montana Avenue with Scott diamond. If any of you are old enough to remember those places you'll know what I'm talking about. This place is truly epic. Five stars is not enough. I hope to God Simi Valley supports this place. read more

As a French person living in the US, let me tell you, it's really hard to find an actually good chocolate croissant, and bread. The baker's daughters is delicious. It's not a fancy chocolate croissant, it's nothing special for a French person, although very good, it's kind of the norm, but here in LA, this chocolate croissant is ONE OF THE BEST. The bread is also delicious. And the tartine and sandwiches. Can't wait to go back to try that egg soufflé sandwich (they were out by the time I got there). Definitely add this spot to your quick breakfast and lunch places, and leave with a loaf of bread. You won't regret it. read more

Excellent breakfast, and I rarely eat out for breakfast because breakfasts in other places taste like processed-heavily salted-overly buttered junk and make me feel awful. Not this place, I felt great, healthy food with style and substance, clean place, ABSOLUTE REPEAT! Eat here often! read more

We got the sourdough and the focaccia bread as a gift. It was amazing. It was great with dinner last night but even better this morning toasted with cinnamon coffee. I heard you have to go early to have a better choice of the daily bake. Yum! We will have to make an early trip out to Simi soon! read more

I visited The Baker's Daughters and was so impressed! I had their chai latte, and it was absolutely delicious--one of the best I've had. We had just come back from Paris, where we'd been indulging in croissants daily, so I was on the hunt for a croissant that could compare. This place didn't disappoint! Their croissant was incredibly crunchy, flaky, and almost as good as the ones in Paris. They also have fantastic breakfast options. The Secret Egg Sandwich was a real treat--delightful and packed with flavor. I've also tried the Buttermilk Sando, and it was just as satisfying. Im not a big reviewer but this bakery, seriously!! It's so good!!! The place is very cute and clean. Everything is organic, healthy and amazing! Easily one of the best sandwiches I ever had and the rosemary coffee is DELICIOUS. You have to try it! I had the orange bun too and it was fantastic. You can taste the quality of the ingredient. Baker's Daughter is absolutely delicious! I went with a friend, and we both loved everything we tried. The food was fantastic, and the lavender matcha latte was perfect.
