We decided to visit near lunchtime. Immediately when we walked in, they offered us a sample of a new recipe and a freshly baked cookie. The sample was a full-size sample. They have a new manager and she was happy to share with us all the different options that they had for the day. Everything is baked fresh in house. This is more of a European style bakery with some delicious hot lunch items and hot breakfast items that include breakfast burritos made in house as well as breakfast sandwiches. They also have the most delicious bacon, turkey and cheese sandwiches that are hot and grilled to order. We decided to try some of their fresh pastries, as well as a hot sandwich and a breakfast burrito. One of them had incredible flavor. The pastries were flaky and light. This is a lovely little bakery that has become so well-loved that they expanding their seating area to accommodate the hoards of people that come in. I first learned about them when I was gushing over the dinner rolls at Z's restaurant for dinner. The server told me that they get the rolls here, so I made it a point to come back the next day for breakfast. They serve Starbucks coffee-which might be a selling point to most people, but I prefer something local. Starbucks isn't my cup of....coffee. The pastry displays were full of delicious options and I was excited to see such a variety of seasonal (Halloween) goodies. So fun! I was drawn to the gargantuan sugar donut but was later a little disappointed to find it gooey in the middle. The flavor was ok, but I couldn't finish the unbaked treat. Stopped in at the Bakery at Zermatt for coffee - it was a Starbucks as well , I chose one of their blueberry muffins! The smell when you walk inside was amazing and the baker was literally in back at a table measuring flour. The muffin did not disappoint. The place was clean. The staff was courteous. In a small adjoining room, there were a couple of table to dine in and small refrigerators with juices and water. My only disappointment was that there were no hot items available for vegans such as avocado toast , hummus toast etc. but they did offer a breakfast sandwich for $8.95 with egg, cheese and meat on a bun that looked delicious ! read more

This Bakery makes it quite well. On a second visit I was there at 7am, the place was open, cases were full of all delicious Bakery items and tasty coffee. This place really didn't quite live up to the hype around the other reviews. If you are already staying at the resort it is a "Must Do", if however you are staying elsewhere then there may be other options closer....the selection was very limited, not at all like the photos would have you believe. For a resort bakery I felt the prices were fair but the selection (at 7AM) was very limited IMO. read more

Previous years we have thoroughly enjoyed the quaint little bakery. However, today's experience was less than desirable as I had purchased a veggie quiche that I took to eat later at our condo - it was incredibly sour and unhealthy for consumption. I had a very disappointing experience this weekend. We were staying at the Zermatt for the weekend. I called the bakery 3 days in advance to order 22 breakfast sandwiches (egg and cheese) for a little outdoor event. They don't have a website or online menu, the employee I spoke with was very friendly and helpful, but failed to mention the sandwiches I was ordering would all be cold and rock hard! As I placed my order ($180 plus $30 tip), I explained the tip was for preparing and packaging so many sandwiches. I picked up the order Sunday morning, they were wrapped individually, in a bag and cold! I didn't notice they were cold until I got to the event. I did call and let them know. They told me that warming up that many sandwiches would take too long. He said they were prepared the day before and came straight out of the fridge. What kind of restaurant/bakery provides cold breakfast sandwiches for you to find your own way to warm and serve, and take your money and tip to prepare the food... and not follow through? They need to fully disclose this type of information. I would have never purchased cold, hard sandwiches to serve to others if I had known. I worked in food service for years and do not feel this was acceptable service by any means. read more

This bakery is decent, but I wouldn't call it spectacular. The pastries are the same as any grocery store kind and expensive like something from a French bakery. It does well in a pinch, but I think $30 for 6 pastries is a bit much for just average quality of the product. They do have a decent selection of juices and drinks. it was in a very cozy setting. i had un crossiant avec fromage et jambon (a croissant with cheese and ham) and a 'bucks coffee. we had a nice place to eat our noon snack and then just chill out for a bit while they snapped pictures of utah's zermatt. if ever back, will be back. Walk out the front of the Zermatt and to your left in the courtyard is the Bakery. There is indoor (but small) and outdoor seating (more space). So convenient to just order and take back to your room. Service was friendly. I noted two men working dough in the background. I didn't pay close enough attention to know for sure but I'm going to guess they were speaking in German. Small selection of baked goods compared to other bakeries but large enough for variety. Selections of breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, croissants, sweet rolls, stick buns, cakes, cannoli, and pie. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious (ham/cheese croissant, egg also available) as were the pain au chocolat, sticky buns, and blueberry pockets. The blueberry pocket had that European crunchy/flaky sound as we bent it in half. They usually offer gelato, but the machine was broken on our visit so that case was empty. read more

This place... is spectacular. While staying overnight with a small group of girlfriends recently, we hit The Bakery twice. Once upon arrival, and once more before leaving, and bought way more pastries than we needed, because they all looked delicious. They were indeed delicious. The prices are a tad high, however, I don't feel like you can put a price on a perfect pastry so... I most definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area! read more

Having vacationed in Heber City, we drove to Midway a number of times before we visited the bakery there. By far, the best pastries in town, and extremely good baguettes in particular. Their prices are fantastic and the ambience of sitting outside enjoying your coffee drink and treat of choice is really beyond any other comparable place in the area. Spectacular views.
