Got a half Ruben sandwich. Was piping hot and delicious. The crust was toasted very well but it needed something to cut the heartiness of the sandwich. Would definitely come back for it though! The cream cheese strudel was tasty, the pastries were pretty thick for the breading. Very fairly priced. Took it back to California and it survived so + points for that. They have some seating inside and a small store of imported goods!

So happy to have found this awesome bakery specializing in German style goods. We went twice because it was so good. On our first trip, we loaded up with imported German delicacies and staples that are hard to find elsewhere. The pretzels are delicious and well made. All together we had their breakfast sandwiches, a Reuben sandwich, and a bratwurst on a pretzel roll. Everything was so tasty. The cappuccino was prepared exactly as I requested with extra foam. It was robust and not watery like so many are. The staff was silvery friendly and accommodating on both occasions. I wish we had a Vosen's in our town. We'll just have to look forward to our next visit.

Cute and busy cafe with tasty looking pastries, donuts, bagels, and more! Tried an italian and pesto turkey sandwich, both of which were freshly pressed and pretty good. Also got the strawberry matcha with cold foam that pretty much tasted like really sweet strawberry milk (which could be good if that's what you're into). Seems like a favorite spot in the area though!

Family owned atmosphere with a tasty selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The veggie breakfast sandwich was decent but the bienenstich was superb. It's basically a cream cake with a quarter inch thick caramel almond topping. The cream is the best I've ever tasted with a perfect consistency, not too heavy or too light. If it wasn't for the multiple health department violations I would give a higher score. Will return again though.

We came here for breakfast one day and it was great! They have so many delicious looking breads and pastries inside. I wanted everything! I ordered a chocolate pastry and kouign amann. Both very tasty! Service was very fast. Inside had a couple places to sit and German items to buy like a grocery store. Cute little place!

Unfortunately the bagels were bland. We tried the everything bagel and plain and both felt like something was missing. Usually everything bagels are very flavorful, unfortunately these were not. Perhaps the other baked goods are much better.

Ordered the bienenstich. It is ok, similar to a peanut brittle on top with cake at the bottom! Friendly servers

Obsessed with this place! It's such a cute German shop that also has delicious pastries, soups and sandwiches and espresso coffee drinks. Will definitely be back :)

I placed my order and had to laugh with the worker because they were so many hilarious signs around the shop! Of course I had to try the brown butter sea salt cookie. Can you blame me? My sandwich was made fresh and devoured instantly. The focaccia had a slight char, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was super crunchy. I didn't love the American cheese, but that's just my personal preference. There's not a lot of seating options besides the one table in front. No biggie - pull up a curb or stand and eat. My sandwich was delicious and I'm excited to go back and try other variations!

The closest store I can think of that has such a wide selection of meats and cheeses is Eataly, but that is huge (and a chain) compared to Caputo's. Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!

The sandwiches are smaller, more expensive , less variety and the service was SLOW. It was 11:30 am and no lines, about 10 patrons in the whole place. Shocked to see no heavy inch traffic . I had a serving of tuna salad ($9) which was ok and $5 cheaper than a sandwich ($13). Hubby had half a Caputo Sandwich. Fountain drinks were $6!!!! There are no deli salads anymore in the sandwich shop nor in the grocery store section. All the grocery has is imported jars , hard pasta and meats. There is no longer any amazing smells of bread and spices like I've experienced in other I Italian delis and shops in many other cities. If you go there now instead of like in the "old days", which weren't so long ago. you might think it's ok but not anymore in my opinion. Tony used to be behind the counter running the show, fast service lots of people. It sucks now

I think at this price point if it added a bag of chips or some time of fruit or a small little side or maybe a can of soda included it would be a perfect meal and a very reasonable price point. The owner was kind and helped me pick between the two sandwiches I was being indecisive about - the Oh Schnitzel and the Hot Chopped Cheese. He asked if I could handle spicy and I said yes. I let him choose a sandwich for me between the two and he chose the Hot Chopped Cheese and said he thinks I'd enjoy it. He described it as a sandwich with chopped-up cheeseburger fillings inside, and they use a lamb and beef patty instead of just beef. Right, he was. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and the meat was spiced and slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. The sandwich was flavorful, and I'm impressed that the bread wasn't too thick because sometimes places serve sandwiches with way too much bread-to-filling ratio. The bread was also a nice texture, I'm glad it wasn't too toasty or crunchy like some sandwiches can get that rub the roof of my mouth raw. I felt like I had a well-balanced meal out of the Chopped Cheese. Flavor-packed meat, cheese, veggies, bread - that's all you need. The food was delicious, and I don't doubt that the rest of the items on the menu taste great, but the prices feel high, yes, even in this economy. I say this because I was able to finish this sandwich and still felt I had room to eat some more, perhaps a little snack. I almost always cannot comfortably finish my food in one sitting when dining out, so that was a sign to me that this wasn't all that much food, and I could tell from the get-go because the sandwich did look small.

Potato Latke Pancakes - 4.5/5 - They were nice, hot, and crispy. You get 2 pancakes which have a nice thickness to them too. Matzo Ball Soup - 3/5 - The matzo ball and soup broth both had a good flavor. The proportions were just off however, a huge matzo ball but not enough broth. And the broth didn't have enough of chicken meat and veggies (carrot/celery). I basically had 1/2 the matzo ball left over at the end Attempted Murder Imperial Stout Beer - 5/5 - Its a vanilla cinnamon stout. The flavor is subtle but in a good way!
