I originally tried her sweets at the farmers market (vegan chocolate chunk cookies) which are to die for. I prefer vegan sweets (and my friend is vegan) so I ordered a birthday cake for a close friend of mine from Carolina! I asked her what type of cake she could create that was vegan. Carolina made me an AMAZING cake that was vanilla bean, with cookie butter frosting, filled and topped with berries and topped with a cinnamon glaze. Needless to say it was beyond amazing. The non-Vegans at the party were so impressed with the cake!! It was honestly the best cake I have ever tasted!! Everyone kept asking where I had ordered this cake from! I also just ordered a sugar free and vegan (he's diabetic but not vegan... But I'm sure he won't know the difference) cake for my father in law!! After a last minute decision to celebrate my husband's birthday in Vegas, I needed to find a cake asap. I call myself a cake snob as only the best will do. I found that with Carolina from The Baking Cup Sweet Shop. Not only was she helpful and friendly, she was prompt with getting back to me. After sending her an email in the evening, she called me the next morning asking for specific details of what I wanted. I was hesitant as I have never sampled any of her cakes and had to rely on Yelp reviews. Carolina was so accommodating that I decided to give her a try. We kept in touch through email and I arranged to have the cake delivered to the hotel. The cake was perfection! It not only was beautiful but even more so important, it was absolutely delicious! I was worried the cake would be too sweet since I went with the smores flavor. The texture of the cake, the filling, and buttercream all perfectly went together. If only she was closer, Carolina would be handling our cakes for all of our family celebrations. For now, she does offer shipping for selected sweets. I called and Carolina picked up! We chatted about what I was looking for, then she emailed me the details. I emailed her back with what I wanted, and then she delivered her masterpiece on the day of the party! She was so easy to work with. 10/17/2015 We got married in February at Vegas Weddings and decided to take our party to Denny's for dinner reception and then they could pick out what they would like for dinner. For my 50th birthday I wanted a custom cake and found Carolina on yelp. She offered to bake a test slice for me and my husband, at $7 per slice. We met. My husband and I tasted the generous slices of cake and were impressed with the freshness and taste. After looking at the many photos of her unique cakes on instagram I got confused! Everything looked amazing. I called her and she talked me through the frosting choices and I decided to keep my original idea, hummingbird cake but change the frosting to accommodate my husband's love of coconut. I was coming to Vegas for my cousins birthday and found this cake shop through Instagram. I am so happy I did. Carolina was so patient and nice over the phone and she created a masterpiece of a cake. Even at the last minute when I had to add a name to the cake topper she had no problem doing this and handled it with ease. She then delivered it to my hotel, and she was so sweet! I ordered my husband's birthday cake from Carolina and I found her through a simple yelp search. I didn't know what to expect and I could only use the reviews as a final decision to order with her. She was very lovely and helped me make a decision for the cake over the phone and through email correspondences. She offered to deliver to my hotel (and I know that can be a pain delivering to the hotels on the strip). I received my cake on Sunday and the cake sat in the box until we left Vegas on Tuesday. We flew back to LA with the cake still in the box. We decided we would celebrate and cut the cake on Tuesday night when we returned home. Well Vegas took the life out of us and we both fell asleep early and still did not cut the cake. Finally on Wednesday evening we cut the cake and after 4 days of sitting out in a box, the cake was delicious. It was so moist and not overly sweet. I don't think I've ever had a cake that lasted this long without proper storage and stay so soft and delicious. Even the cookie crumbles she added on top where not hard. My husband and I are always on the hunt for yummy sweet treats. We found this gem at the farmer's market we frequent. After numerous times passing it by (I'm a cupcake snob) he talked me into trying a red velvet and a smores cupcake and they were perfectly moist and delicious! The following week we tried the chocolate chunk cookies and a pumpkin smore, the cookies were so soft and chewy, yum! Yesterday I tried more chocolate chunk cookies (I may have bought nearly her whole stack) and a pumpkin monster cookie, so freakin' good.
