The board takes some getting used to but it really engages your core and left my abs (and legs) feeling worked the day after! The studio offers a few varieties of classes with a spectrum of foci from more weights to more cardio. The Obsidian Strong Class was my favorite. It used a combination of barbell weights and the board to test your balance and fatigue your muscles. Great challenge. Not to mention, the staff at Obsidian is incredibly friendly as well as the patrons. Everyone is willing to help you set up and just seem happy all around to be part of a unique workout community.

I tried one Obsidian II class and didn't love it. That was the only time I felt out of place, like I'd wandered into a class full of Lululemon dolls. I didn't get a lot of direction or friendly advice since I was obviously new to it. I never really felt like I was a part of their "community," although at least it looked like they had one. I also think that their front desk workers are a bit disorganized/not as well trained as I would have liked. I had girls act confused several times when I went in to have my class pass punched (like they couldn't figure it out), and then I had one girl accuse me of lying and said I already went to an Obsidian class (which was obviously a computer glitch) when I told her I was 100% sure I never did. I was really upset because she was so snotty to me, but luckily one of the owners intervened and said I could take the class anyway. Regardless of my satisfaction with the Body Combat classes, that last experience left a bad taste in my mouth about DASH. I won't be returning (although I had thought about purchasing a membership) and probably wouldn't recommend it to friends. I've been to other places with great instructors and classes that treat their customers really well - I don't need to be in a place that would accuse me of lying and not acknowledge a computer glitch.

I started seeing Tim on a weekly basis in November of 2010 after joining in on a "Biggest Loser" competition with friends on Twitter. The competition ended three months later, and I half expected my time at ModusFit to come to an end around the 9 month mark as per previous gym endeavours, but I am still seeing Tim once a week now, and he kicks my butt on a very persistent basis. Told them if they liked the experience and wanted to join just had to let him know and would be $29/mo. They left understanding nothing would be charged until told they wanted to join. Magically we are being charged despite asking to join. A. A minor cannot sign a contract B. Deceptive sales practices C. Lesson learned to NEVER sign anything without reading and having an adult review. We learned after the visit a family member was a member there and got a skin disease from the unclean equipment which cemented the decision to not join and instead join the Sports Mall across the street.

Nothing has pushed me harder or been put more specific attention on the areas that I really wanted to work on more than having a personal trainer who really knows what they are doing. I've had sessions with several of the trainers at Fitness Together and they are all very knowledgeable and really care about my needs. They also give me nutrition counseling! It's like I'm getting two services for the price of one! I love the personal attention and private studios at Fitness Together. I will be a client for life!!

It's a place you can disappear and just focus on your workout and not feel like it's meat market like the much bigger box gyms. It is mostly free weights and machines and the cardio is limited in the number and variety but they have enough for you to not get bored.

Outside was in the upper 60s the day I went. Not sure if it would be cooler than it was when it's 30 outside. The walk from the front desk to the courts I never would have found on my own. I didn't see any other signs that said what was what way besides the ones my group put up. Everything looked clean and taken care of. I didn't use the locker room or restrooms. They do have a bar attached that was a nice bonus. We only got drinks but they do have food as well. Next time I'll have to try some.
