I reached out to about 10 salons through Yelp about a week before I needed the appointment, and only 3 responded. The assistant from Hair Drezzers on Fire was incredibly helpful. I explained what I was looking for, and she was able to find a stylist who was available on the day I needed and give me a quote ahead of time that I was comfortable with. The whole process of setting up the appointment was easy and professional. When we arrived, I found street parking nearby. Some of the parking is metered, but there are also side streets where you can find non-metered parking. The salon itself was nice and clean. We were greeted right away by a super friendly and helpful gentleman, who I later realized was the owner! We were also offered something to drink, which was a nice touch. My girls were scheduled with Maggie, and she was wonderful. She was kind, professional, and most importantly, she knew how to work with curly hair. She trimmed both girls' hair and was also able to do the braided styles they wanted. She did an excellent job, and I was really happy with how their hair turned out. After having such a hard time finding a salon that checked all of our boxes, I'm really glad we found this place. I would definitely bring my girls back!

I went to this salon in March with completely virgin, untreated hair and specifically requested a balayage. I don't have much knowledge or experience when it comes to hair coloring, so I trusted the stylist to determine the appropriate process to achieve the look I was asking for. Instead of a balayage, I received partial highlights. At the time, I didn't realize that there was an issue with how my hair had been processed. It wasn't until I later went to another professional to have my hair worked on that they pointed out that portions of my hair had been improperly processed and were significantly overprocessed. Since my original appointment, I have experienced substantial breakage in multiple areas of my hair, including portions that have broken off considerably shorter than the rest. Daniela was very nice, and I want to be fair about that. She was kind and personable throughout my appointment, so this review is not about her as a person. My concern is specifically with the service and the condition of my hair afterward. I started with completely virgin hair and trusted the professional to safely achieve the color I requested, so the amount of damage and breakage has been especially disappointing. I also wanted to mention a separate concern regarding the salon's advertised promotion. When I initially reached out through Yelp to inquire about services and pricing, the salon presented me with a $100 off cut and color promotion. This was not something I found independently or assumed applied to my appointment -- it was specifically presented to me by the salon when I was inquiring about booking. I accepted the offer and was then scheduled by the receptionist. I was not given the option to choose a stylist or told that the promotion only applied to certain stylists. After my service, when I asked about the $100 promotion, I was told that it only applied to select stylists and that Daniela was not eligible. I understand that promotions can have restrictions, but I feel that should have been clearly communicated before the appointment, especially since the promotion was presented to me directly by the salon as part of my inquiry. I also noticed that the same promotion is still currently being advertised, which is why I feel it's important to mention. Ultimately, my biggest concern is the condition of my hair after the service. I understand that color services can involve some risk, and I also understand that I am not a professional and may not have known what to look for immediately after the appointment. However, after having another professional evaluate my hair, I was made aware that the processing had not been done correctly and that the resulting damage was significant. I genuinely wish I could have left a positive review because Daniela was very nice, but I also feel future clients deserve to know about my experience. I would recommend asking very specific questions about the exact service being performed, who the appointment is being booked with, whether advertised promotions actually apply to that stylist, and how the stylist plans to protect the condition of your hair before proceeding.

These professionals may be great, but having an easy way to book will get more clients. In this day and age, the instantaneous booking is the bar and this place doesn't meet it. It is a hurdle/challenge to just get an appointment. I am sure these people are nice and are probably good at what they do.

My hair had become brassy and I just wanted to add low lights and some dimension. I showed many, many photos to make it clear what I wanted. Unfortunately, the final result was drastically different from what I requested. Much of the interior and underside of my hair was colored a very dark brunette tone, creating a flat, heavy appearance rather than the dimensional look shown in the photos we reviewed. The ends of my hair look completely black, nothing like the photos I showed. The issue wasn't that my hair became darker overall. I expected more depth and lowlights. The issue was that much of the brightness and dimension was lost, particularly underneath, leaving large sections of the hair looking like one solid dark color. To Cynthia's credit, she did offer to adjust the color by adding highlights and ultimately provided a full refund when I explained that I was no longer comfortable proceeding with additional processing since my first request was so misunderstood and poorly executed. While I appreciate her efforts to make things right afterward, the final result did not reflect the look we spent significant time discussing beforehand. I'm honestly still devastated.

I moved to San Diego about 6 months ago and have been wanting to do something different with my hair for a while but I didn't have anyone here that I trusted (I've had bad hair experiences in the past). I already have blonde highlights but have thought about getting pink undertones. I met Angela and she immediately had a vision like an artist. She detailed exactly what she would do, the colors she would use, the technique and was also very honest about how the color would fade, which I have found to be rare. I decided to take the leap with her and I am so happy that I did. She made sure to block off her entire afternoon to give my hair the time it deserved and she did not stop until it was perfect. She was talking me through the entire process, which I loved! Usually hair stylists just do whatever without telling you what they are actually doing! Angela's assistant was also lovely and helped her throughout the whole process. I know previous comments mention Angela bossing her assistant around, but I didn't see that at all. They were working as a team, bouncing ideas off each other. I'd rather have two sets of eyes and hands on my hair than one! I didn't have a head full of bright pink hair. My hair was still blonde with beautifully classy pink undertones. This is not something just any colorist can accomplish. She is so talented and that is my number 1 priority. Not to mention it was really nice to not be in a loud crowded salon. Angela wanted to make sure that I knew how to take care of my color and told me to call her anytime I have a question about products, washing my hair, etc. Finding someone I trust with my hair is worth every dollar in my book. I usually get blonde highlights and a trim but this last time I asked for a color that was a little different.
