We also had the Caprese Bucatini, a spaghetti style pasta served with a small ball of fresh mozzarella in the center surrounded by marinara. Do not skip the garlic focaccia either. It is grilled, which adds a smoky depth you do not expect from a bread course. It was exceptional. The tiramisu trifle was the one miss for us. It needed more moisture to really land. Skip it and spend that room on more pasta. A note on the experience: there was one server covering the entire floor and what appeared to be one person in the kitchen. The restaurant was not busy, but we still waited longer than the situation seemed to call for. It did not ruin the meal, but it is worth knowing. The bathroom also needed attention. We spent $85 for two with non-alcoholic drinks, which felt fair for the quality and the neighborhood. They apparently do brunch, and I am already planning a return visit for that. I ordered the standard Ćevapi, and honestly, it tasted just like what I had while traveling through the Balkans. Fresh, flavorful, comforting, and exactly what I was hoping for. You can tell this is food made with pride and tradition. The owner was incredibly friendly, and we ended up having a great conversation about the food, Bosnia, and his story. After hearing he's originally from Bosnia and brought his family recipes with him, it all made sense why the food felt so authentic. Places like this are special because they're not trying to be trendy -- they're simply serving real food, made the right way. If you are from Buffalo, NY, this crust has reminded us the most of Buffalo pizza. If they had cup and char pepperoni, that would have been epic. Great food, fun interior, really nice staff. Our server forgot our waters, in fact she never brought us waters, we had to ask the hispanic lady bussing tables for water and salsa. She was the one who went out of her way to bring us waters and salsa and this was like half way through our meal. Our server checked on us after we were done with our meal, so we couldn't ask her or anyone around for anything else we wanted. I wanted dessert but there was no way I would wait another 20mins or flag someone down to order any. The place is big and nice inside, but service is was makes or breaks in my opinion the entire experience and service was terrible and food wasn't memorable enough to come back.
