If you want brevity, maybe I should wait for the caffeine to wear off. I recently traveled to Italy, I had a daily cup of espresso. Since returning, I've been looking to find a delicious cup of espresso. Simply put, my search is over, The Barista's Touch is it! I went around noon on a gorgeous late summer Sunday. Found ample parking on the street. I walked in to a cozy cafe, with a great vibe. Immediately greeted by a friendly worker, I ordered an espresso and received a recommendation for a piece of crumb cake. The owner came over and let me know that they rotate their espresso beans seasonally and what I should expect flavor wise. I took my crumb cake, palate cleansing water, and the espresso outside to a vibrant cafe table. It's a quiet side street with a view of the neighborhood and lots of trees. Really a nice spot to sit. The crumb cake was a really nice treat, tender and flavorful. That said, the espresso is the main event! The flavors that the owner said to look for, were all in the cup. Absolutely perfect cup of espresso! Smooth and full of flavor. The owner came out and gave me some more information, they filter their water with a reverse osmosis system. Basically, no impurities. I found this place because they host the pop-up bakery, Black Magic Bakehouse. I expected to pick up some bake goodies and a coffee but what I didn't expect was to have the most amazing latte with the most friendly service. My latte was served at the perfect temperature and so smooth! I've never thought of describing a latte as smooth but it had such a pleasant, smooth, unjarring finish that I can't find anywhere else. Anthony and Carly were both very welcoming and gave such a great vibe to the whole place. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often. If you live near here, I envy you. I absolutely love this place. The inside was quaint and felt folky in a good way with the cute antique tables and the chairs throughout and at the coffee bar. The barista was so lovely and nice. I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk and it was delicious. They had a strawberry cold foam special for spring and I asked the barista about it who said unfortunately it could only be made with real milk but that for the non-dairy customers they happily add in a dash of the strawberry syrup on the drink and she was happy to do this for me. WOW WOW WOW is all I have to say. The matcha latte was already good and you could taste the matcha. The strawberry syrup was incredible and so fresh and complimented the matcha so well. You could tell the strawberry syrup was homemade. I live in the area and I have a feeling I will be frequenting this place often for the delicious drinks and cozy vibe. read more

These guys know good espresso. They don't serve dead shots. The milkfoam is silky and rich. The beans are locally roasted and freshly ground. The cold brew is pitch perfect. Absolutely love coming to the Barista's Touch. First off, the coffee is out of this world. The owner, Anthony, really knows his stuff and takes coffee super seriously. Despite the seriousness of his product though, he is a very friendly and warm guy. The place is designed similarly to a bar, and it's a very communal space. Every time I go there I meet such wonderful people. There are more "private" type seatings like a traditional coffee shop, but the appeal of this place is very much in how good the coffee is combined with the friendly atmosphere. Very much in that elusive "third space" vibe you may hear that America is sorely missing. The coffee is all very well made. There is a double RO system and they build their own water profile to ensure the best flavors. Everything down to the ice is custom for their coffee. I'm usually a black iced coffee only guy, but I've been letting the owner pick for me whatever he wants - one of the few people I'd ever trust to let just go wild with my coffee - and I've never had a bad drink. Even the drinks I think would be sweet (and I hate sweet coffee) are perfectly balanced and never too sugary or too syrupy. This place is my favorite find of the past year, and I'm very excited to return again soon. read more

Watch out Hillsdale! I finally got to try this spectacular coffee bar last weekend! When you walk in, you are greeted like family! Anthony has the gift of being able to translate the garbled coffee request I said (in way too many words) and made me the GREATEST ICED SUPER CAFFEINE INFUSED LATTE concoction that was truly the BEST latte I have ever had in my life! The space is so nice and comfy -- there is a beautiful bar area to sit and also really nice chairs and tables in the rear. The music in the background made me want to dance -- but I am a music freak.
