Maybe it was the whipped cream, but it felt diluted overall. On the other hand, my husband's New Orleans iced coffee was good, and my friends enjoyed their other coffee drinks as well. Next time, I'll skip the matcha and just stick with coffee.

They had a menu of different coffees and of course the matcha. They also had a ceremonial matcha option for an additional charge. I had ordered the matcha latte and was able to change the mildly option to oat. We also wanted to try the matcha cookie. Our order was made fresh and picked up at the end of the counter. You can really taste the matcha flavor and not overpowered by the oat milk. Overall a good matcha-- they also had additional flavors options that can be added like strawberry. Lo and behold, the chocolate dacquoise inside the Spring dessert contained nuts and I got an anaphylactic reaction as a result and needed to take my EpiPen. The bite I had was very yummy but almost took me out so I'll still keep two stars for the baking itself. However, staff NEEDS to know what contains very common and deadly allergens.

The most frustrating part was what happened next. About 10 minutes after we sat outside, another family was seated nearby and was served food from the kitchen without any issue. If the kitchen had become operational again, no one informed us or asked whether we would like to order anything else. Instead, staff repeatedly came to our table with the bill, even bringing the wrong bill the first time, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. The café was nearly empty, yet we received some of the poorest service I've experienced in New York or New Jersey. I still don't understand why we were treated differently, but the combination of poor communication, unfriendly service, and overpriced food made for a very disappointing experience.
