    Bubble Tea
    Xavier I.

Village tea shop is the best boba place around. My usual order, The Lavender bubble tea is spectacular. We've come back many times and would highly recommend their bubble tea, although all of their different tea variants are delicious. They have lots of flavor options, as well (such as caramel, taro, honeydew, coconut, etc) The staff are top notch, as well - friendly and provide good recommendations. There is also a small sitting area inside with tables, which goes to fit the cute little location ambiance. Overall 5 stars, I come here almost everyday

This is a small, family owned shop that has a variety of drinks. You need to order online or call in your order. I had a mango milk tea, 25% sugar, light ice. It tasted fresh, no fillers, but it could have used some more mango flavoring. Prices are very reasonable. Credit cards accepted. Gong Cha is opening up a few stores down, so I hope they'll be able to compete with the chain.

Amazing service, quality teas, and cozy ambiance!! I love getting the matcha with tapioca and the passion fruit with lychee jelly!

Iced pineapple green tea, half jelly/half popping boba

Really enjoyed my drink! Ordered off the "Pineapple Series" section and got a large iced pineapple green tea, 25% sweetness with half jelly/half popping boba. Love that you can customize the sweetness! You have to call or order online for the time being (May 2021) and they'll bring your order to the window, no going inside. I am a fan and will def return when I'm in the area next.

it's my first time in thins place and I'm very pleased, I ordered the mixed berry black ice tea less sweet and it's a perfect refresher. The place is clean and staff friendly as well, definitely coming back

In addition to the smooth bubble teas, the tea shop is among the first purveyors of concoction at Ridgewood. My favorite ones churns out of matcha with pineapple(sunset?) , or rose black milk tea with a floral note. Flexible to customize the drinks with low-sugar option, appealing to the health-conscious crowd.

Sunrise before mixing. Matcha with Orange Juice. Very refreshing. Personal preference when I rarely don't want plain matcha

Place reopened next door with seating. See my original review for their excellent inexpensive matcha. Lapsang Souchong bubble tea is a delicious little secret here (still prefer matcha obviously.)

    Honeydew milk tea with boba

Small hole in the wall bubble tea cafe, in a busy area of Ridgewood, but very delicious. I ordered a honeydew milk tea with boba. The boba pearls need some work, they are kinda small and a little too soft for me. The milk tea however, is phenomenal. It had lots of flavor and it was very creamy without it being too thick or too sweet. Heads up to anyone interested in visiting the tea house, Ridgewood doesn't have the best parking so you might have to walk a little. I most definitely want to come again because the service is fairly quick and the cafe is very cozy.

I shouldn't like this bubble tea emporium so much -- but I do. When I think bubble tea -- I mistakenly associate it with teeny boppers and yesterdays trendiness -- but this cute little shop is so much more than bubble tea. The gracious proprietors (Eugene and May) opened Village Tea about 10 months ago -- and they are still fussing about how to best make this intimate space even more welcoming. Gene and May take tea seriously, about which their knowledge is encyclopedic. It is pleasing to talk tea with them and a cool place to sidle into after dinner for a spot of matcha.

Such an awesome variety of flavors! Can't wait to go back and try the others. Try the matcha bubble tea! Delicious :) My boyfriend liked his mango smoothie too.

They also have a chocolate shop next door. When I walked inside of the bakery, I felt transported to a pastry shop in France. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was super busy. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered a latte and a scone. The scone was very delicious and fresh. My boyfriend ordered a frozen hot chocolate and a chocolate éclair. I tried a bit of the éclair and we both agreed that it was the star of the show. I normally am not a big éclair person but this one was so chocolatey and rich. It was filled with this creamy, fresh chocolate filling. I strongly dislike the store bought cream filling that they are usually piped with. We sat at one of the little tables on the sidewalk outside since the weather was nice. I will be back if I am in the area and in the mood for a sweet treat!

We snagged one as people were getting up. I got a napoleon and another dessert that was chocolate mouse with Carmel and a biscuit cookie on the bottom. It was soo good. But worth it once in a while. And they have a bathroom in the back!

What a great little ramen placed tucked-in Glen Rock!…read more Came on a Sunday afternoon and nobody was in the restaurant! It's not too big --- maybe sit 20-30pp. max. However, it was a comfortable setting. Food-wise, tried several dishes: the takoyaki ($10), the karaage ($9) as well as the Ika Furai ($10) for appetizers, along with the Kokoro Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen ($19.50). The appetizers all came out fairly quickly, and were nice and hot. Highlights were definitely the karaage and takoyaki (although I may have a bias to them). I though the Ika Furai (fried calamari) was going to be "pieces of tentacles, etc", it wasn't. It was the same calamari rings you can get anywhere, so I'd pass on that. However, let's talk about that Kokoro Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen. The ramen broth was rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. The toppings were great --- and the egg was a nice jammy consistency. The noodles were a good texture, and the soup was served nice and hot. That black garlic provided the right backdrop to such a wonderful rich ramen. Don't even get me started on the charred-tonkatsu. Such a beautiful meaty piece that was sitting on top of that bed of noodles. Totally recommend this. Pro-tip: ask for some spicy-oil on the side, then you get the best of both worlds - black garlic and spice. Overall, I totally recommend this place if you're looking to satisfy that ramen craving. You don't need to go to Paramus, or the Palisades, or even Ridgewood --- just go to this small business, you'll find big flavor!

There's space to wait for your order too- so if it's cold or raining, there's room for you. They're open 7a-7p which is great. It was busy when I ran in today around 12:45p on a Sunday and that's always a good sign. It looks clean and the drinks I saw looked appetizing. The food menu sounds fantastic. The guy who helped me with my order was super nice. But I actually went in there on the hunt for something specific. It's the 2nd time I went in since they moved to the space across the street from where they were. The first time I stopped in quickly and saw they had what I was looking for but very few so I didn't buy anything. l had done a very difficult and time intensive Google search for Macaron Cafe macarons. They wholesale out of NYC and they're the best macarons ever. There are probably 6-7 places in Ridgewood that sell macarons, some that make them fresh baked. And none are as good as the ones from Macaron Cafe. Pre-covid I could find them locally pretty easily. But now, it's really hard. Most of the places that sell them put up a menu of the flavors that's very easily identifiable, and they carry the full line. By googling a photo of the menu I was able to find them in Fort Lee and American Dream and those are both too far. I'd gone into every single place that sells macarons in downtown Ridgewood except RCC and none of them have them. I finally made it into Ridgewood when RCC is open (we usually end up in Ridgewood after dinner and they're closed) and imagine my joy in seeing the macarons there. I can tell it's them instantly. Except - they only have like eight of the flavors! They don't advertise them. They don't have the menu up either, so they only way I could tell there might be a chance of them being there was an old photo of their counter from Yelp or Google. So, I didn't have any drinks or food. I just bought some macarons. And I would've bought more except that they didn't really have the flavors I wanted. There are generally around 28-32 flavors and they change/add/take away every few months/holidays, etc. My knocking a star is ONLY for the lack of flavors of these amazing macarons and only having a tease amount of flavors of them. And they should advertise their baked goods/desserts better, like in photos on instagram. They don't post enough of all their food. I had to just take a chance and come in from an old photo. I know I don't want to have to drive to American Dream mall for these macarons. And I know the girls behind me in line today were talking about how they came in for tiramisu.

Maybe it was the whipped cream, but it felt diluted overall. On the other hand, my husband's New Orleans iced coffee was good, and my friends enjoyed their other coffee drinks as well. Next time, I'll skip the matcha and just stick with coffee.
