I really like this place! Out of all the places that we visited in Concord I feel like this had some of the best Irish food that I could've had in the area. I tried the burger as well as the fried brussels sprouts which come with walnuts and are delicious, and the sausages. We also got cocktails these were really strong and well-made. We were seated immediately as soon as we walked in, the place is very large is built around the bar and also has a restaurant seating in the back. Large wooden tables can seat 6 to 8 people. The wait stuff was really good with us we wanted to change our seats and as soon as the table opened up for us they allowed us to move over. We put in our food requests and I would say took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive and about 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. They also have a really large area on the right for additional seating as well as where the toilets are. We shared a Bison Birger and a butternut squash salad. Both were delis! Went for lunch yesterday. No wait, seated in a comfortable booth. Started off with fresh soft pretzel sticks served with cheese sauce and mustard. Then had the roasted turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo and a delicious McBarley burger. Everything was fantastic. The menu is appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and a few entrees. My husband and I each had a beer, Litherman's Limited Misguided Angel and Blueberry Ale. For lunch my daughter had a Caesar Salad, my husband had a Bourbon Mushroom Swiss Burger and I had a falafel burger in a pita. We all really enjoyed our food, it was flavorful and well made. Tried out Barley House after searching for some pub food in the Concord NH area. There was a 45 minute wait when we arrived on a Saturday night. There was a lively bar and small waiting area so the wait was tolerable. Once seated our server was very friendly and attentive. The menu had a good selection of entrees and sandwiches/burgers. My wife had a burger which she raved about and I had the steak tip special which was good but they were cooked a bit over what I would have preferred. I was promptly greeted by a hostess and seated in a nice booth in a modern, well decorated and dimly lit dining room which was in a separate room from the the bar. The server greeted me within minutes. She immediately brought me water and bread sticks with a delicious garlic spread. I also ordered a glass of house cabernet which was good. For the entree, I ordered the NY Strip. My business associate ordered the hanger steak. Our meals came out within 15 minutes. The steaks were cooked to perfect temperatures. Dinner was served first, and when i asked about the appetizer, was told it be right out, when advising please cancel it since our meals are already here, it seemed like that was a big bother to the waitress. Right from the jump, Autumn is the best waitress ever. I will not debate this. She was so prompt, so friendly and so sweet. A treasure! I think they've shrunk the menu since the last time I was there. If you don't want a burger, a sandwich or one of half a dozen entrees, seek another restaurant. That said, all the food we ordered was really good. The fried haddock sandwich was cooked perfectly, light and flaky. The fries were cooked well, albeit a little scrappy. To start I have been to the Barley House many many times and I have loved it. The Food the service the drinks everything is always amazing. I do not know what happened. Last night I went with two friends for a girls night out. They had an advertisement on the table for these pineapple drinks so we all ordered them. The poor server had to come tell us that those drinks are for Saturday and that they cannot make the. We said ok and looked at the Spring Drink Menu and we picked something else again the poor server had to tell us that they did not have all the ingredients. So, we finally found something to order and got an app. Once we finished the app we ordered food I looked up and saw the poor server walking over to our table looking extremely embarrassed and defeated. The apologized but we ordered MUSHROOM Swisse burgers only to be told that they are all out of mushrooms. The offered to have a manager come talk to us we accepted. Because the GM that was there could not be bothered to help her staff. The manger came over who was the bartender asking what she could do. She only knew about the drink issue and had just come in at four and was just finding out about all the products that had not been ordered. Poor girl I said nope I would like to speak to the GM. The GM did finally come out I told her I was absolute discussed with her and the fact that she couldn't be bothered to come talk to us to begin with and left her poor server and manger out to dry. To have advertisements on the table that we couldn't even order. To which she replied I am removing them from the tables and printing a new bar menu now. I called her out and said no you have not shown your face once and you have your staff running around taking them off the table, after you told our server that they are there as conversation piece's. And then to not have mushrooms for the burgers this is crazy. She asked what we wanted to do. We said nothing and she walked away! Our poor server came back over, and we pray he did not get in any trouble this is not his fault. He asked what we wanted to do for food, we said we are all set we will take the check. He brought the check over and mind you the burgers never left the kitchen where on our bill. Not full price but at a discount. This all took place on Thursday May 29th around 5:30-6:00pm. The bartender was attentive and full of great info and fun N.H. facts and tips for our visit. I had the Shortrib sandwich which when in comparisons was neck and neck with Penny Farthing in NY! The sweet potato fries were perfectly seasoned and they made homemade chipotle ketchup ahhhh! The Stone IPA which was a local brew was fab and definitely a go to bev! Nice spot we found on North Main Street! Best advice I can provide is to get there early because there would be be a long wait! However the wait is completely worth it. I was able to grab a seat at the bar to doge the wait. The service that I received was amazing! The bartender was very attentive! Even though there was a long wait I received my food pretty quickly. The timing is never correct; at least 20-30 minutes off 2. Order never went through their online system 3. Completely missing items that had been paid for; this has happened several times 4. I hate to leave poor reviews, but I stopped by here on my way home with my boyfriend after a weekend up North. He had stopped here a few weeks prior and raved about the burgers. Upon entering, it was pretty packed with waiting families, which was interesting as we ended up waiting about 30 minutes and the room was practically empty. I got a Caesar Salad ($13 - pretty expensive as it is) and added chicken. My boyfriend got the Mushroom Swiss burger and a beer. The burger was a hockey puck and extremely overcooked. It truly tasted like someone had torched the burger with propane. My salad came with about 4 pieces of chopped grilled chicken, which somehow ended up being an additional $6. It was fine, but it is crazy to me how places are charging near $20 for a salad when it's compiled of just lettuce, cheese, and chicken. Both of us don't plan on coming back again, especially considering the fries were the best part of an almost $70 meal. 2 stars because the staff was nice. read more

Inside what looked like a historic building, bar was a little small and hostess seemed truly sorry when she told us we had a 20 minute wait, lol. Very good beer selection of local breweries. Waiter was good, but never replaced my silverware that had fallen on the ground. Wife and I shared hers. We started with the Blarney Puffs, my wife lived them and the dipping sauce. I ended up going with the McBarley Burger, it was perfectly cooked and you could tell it was a handmade patty. I also had the sweet potato fries. I ate it all, but not sure how since it was such a good size portion. My wife had the hangover burger. A perfectly cooked patty with a fried egg, two giant pieces of bacon.
