The next day, we stopped by Cave Hill Farms Brewery for some well-earned food and drinks. This was my third visit, and overall, it was another good experience. The pretzel bites and nachos were both solid, and we ordered two different chicken nugget options--one super mild (no sauce) and the other packing a nice spicy kick. The beer selection was great, and chatting with Wendy behind the counter was a highlight. She's the kind of person every brewery or restaurant needs--funny, welcoming, and just plain awesome. Only a couple of minor misses: they weren't offering beer flights because the dishwasher was down (I even offered to help wash the glasses, but no go), and they were out of shredded pork, which would've been great on the nachos. Still, nothing that would keep me from coming back. There are a lot of great spots in the area, but Cave Hill Farms Brewery remains one of my favorites. I'll definitely be back for visit #4.

Built with Jeffersonian architecture, the property is modern yet attractive and feels like you're visiting a historic property. There is a large event space, a spacious tasting room, and ample outdoor seating which is mostly shaded to enjoy even on a hot sunny day. My wife and I both enjoyed flights of wine and followed them with a glass of our favorites. The flights are served nicely and every pour is in its own glass, no reusing or cheap plastic cups here. Service was great with very nice staff. It was a peaceful outdoor experience and we really enjoyed just sitting and relaxing. I would absolutely come back!

We were there on a Friday night and they had a nice musician playing some very chill music. The vineyard and its surroundings were super peaceful and made for a great evening. Our tour guide (I forget her name - so sorry) was amazing. She was knowledgeable and mixed historical content with geological content. The fact that experts from The Smithsonian came here to collect the artifacts (both Native American and Civil War) and authenticate several signatures (I believe from further research I did and then saw at the site, they cataloged the signatures as well) gives this site authenticity. For anyone that is into history, just the thought that you are standing in a place where Native Americans were before Europeans came to this continent AS WELL AS where Civil War soldiers etched their name for future generations, this is a MUST SEE. Is it pricy? Sure. But I give grace there. These caverns have been owned by the same family (they are on the 10th & 11th generation) since the original Harrison family acquired the land in 1748 by a land grant from King George. This isn't a gov't owned site. And from what I have seen and read, this family is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the caves. That can't be cheap. And I will say, it's worth it for the history alone. That is what sets it apart from all the other caverns in the Shenandoah valley. Could the gift shop be better? Sure. If you have helpful suggestions for improvement, let them know. They are all incredibly friendly. Don't wait and just complain in a review, We will recommend a visit here to any and everyone who is in the area seeing the sites. In fact, this cave is still being explored and new rooms and spaces are being discovered. Our guide told us they are working on adding a new room to the tour. So do we anticipate we'll be back when in the area again? Absolutely!

The furniture is outdated, the pillows have lumps, and I could hear everybody and their mamas conversations. When my husband went to check in they asked him weird questions like "Are you married?" Or "is your wife here" when he responded yes. Saying they wanted feedback for further hotels with pools. Trying to get him in for a free breakfast (probably for a timeshare.) Room has a fridge, coffee maker, ice bucket, two beds, two sinks, shower with tub, two tables, tv, lights, and closet. There is a balcony with a table and two chairs as well. Out in the hall you have the ice maker, microwave, and vending machine. Overall, not bitter but not worth the price we paid.

Horrible experience and atrocious customer service…read more On 05/31/26, I received a phone call from this resort offering what was described as a special promotion. I was told, verbatim, that they were "rolling out the red carpet" for me, my wife, and our three young children to attend a presentation in exchange for a complimentary stay. We scheduled our overnight stay for 06/06/26, with the presentation set for 8:00 AM on 06/07/26. We drove six hours each way specifically for this promotion. Upon arrival, we were informed that amenities we had been promised, including access to the water park, were not included. We were then told that the tours had been overbooked and that our presentation would need to be rescheduled to later the following day--well after our checkout time--which simply would not work for our family. The staff, particularly the managers, were some of the rudest and most unprofessional employees I have ever encountered. Rather than attempting to resolve the situation, we were repeatedly told to call various phone numbers ourselves. No one showed any genuine concern or willingness to help. I was so shocked by the lack of professionalism that I recorded my interaction with Assistant Manager Joanne, who refused to involve another manager and repeatedly instructed me to call different numbers the next day to address the issues. When those numbers were called, no one answered except for one employee who informed us that we had reached the wrong department. The entire experience was a disaster, and we hadn't even made it out of the lobby. Another employee continued asking whether we still wanted to stay. After explaining that we no longer wished to remain given everything that had happened--but that they already had our deposit--she abruptly canceled our reservation and walked away, stating that she was done speaking with us. As a result, we packed up our family and drove another six hours back home. We wasted an entire weekend, spent countless hours traveling with three young children, and were treated with complete indifference and disrespect. I would strongly caution others against booking based on promotional offers from this establishment, as our experience was nothing short of unacceptable.

My only suggestions would be to add a few additional vendors if possible and try to put more tables in the shade - it was a hot day which made everyone crowd under the tent.
