I passed by this place several times so when a friend suggested we go I agreed. It is a large space with large doors that open on nice days with tables outside. A band was setting up which is there regularly so check the schedule if interested. We made it in time to catch happy hour so that was the best thing about this visit. I had the burger which was nothing special and I didn't finish it. My friend had the bbq wings she said were okay and she didn't finish hers either. Waitress was friendly although it took a while for her to get to us and we were the only people there. Not sure I would go again but maybe the dinners are better than what we got. If you can't get the simple stuff to stand out not sure if I want to try. I would go for happy hour as the drinks were discounted a lot. The band must be the big draw as I do see it being crowded later in the evenings. read more

I came here with a couple friends in search of good and drinks. The waiter/Assistant Manager, I believe his name was Shawn, was super cool. Nice sense of humor and he was quick and efficient. They've been open about 2 months. We all ordered wings and a round of drinks. The menu prices are reasonable. Whole wings come with a side. They also had party wing options. It's a pretty large restaurant. It'll be great for a birthday party or large gathering. TouchTunes was available for those with the app. The bar selection was OK but could definitely use a little improvement in selections for spirits. The place was clean. Parking was good and they even had slots available. Women's bathroom could use some attention. The door didn't lock and it's 1 soap dispenser. Otherwise, I'd add this place to one of my list when visiting the Chicago suburban area. read more

A friend and I attended a special event here. I believe it's done on Wednesdays. I do believe they have events happening here daily if you check their event page. But on this particular night they had to open forum or they had a young lady hosting that was throwing out relationship, a type questions and asking for input. And also if you wanted to remain anonymous, you can put your answers in a hat. During this event they had drink specials which we partake in. I think the drinks were between 5:00 and $7 and then the food was regular price. For that particular night. It was pretty good. No complaints read more

The African American heavy set waitress with glasses acts like she's doing you a favor when you're the one spending money. She has a terrible attitude and does this place a disservice. I wasn't to impressed. A small bottle of Sutter Home Wine was $7.62...I gave the bartender a $20 and she gave me $12 in change. Guess what sweetie that .38 was huge tip for not even asking me if I had correct change. I'm good...no need for me to go back. Space was nice just wasn't happy with the service. read more

Another subpar experience in a suburban eating establishment. My husband and I wanted to grab a quick bite and cocktail on a Saturday afternoon and didn't want to be too far from our house so we chose Grey's Social. We'd been before and everything was fine so we decided to go back. They open at 12pm and it was a little after 1pm so we knew it wouldn't be a crowd. When we walked in, 2 ladies who worked there were at the bar. It looked like 1 of them was working on something (she may have been the manager on duty), the other one was possibly the server/bartender. The latter had a look on her face like she was annoyed we were there. We go to sit at the bar and she dryly greeted us and gave us menus, then walked away. My husband went to the restroom and asked that I get him a beer. He was in the restroom for roughly 5 minutes, came back and thought I hadn't ordered. I told him the waitress hadn't come back yet. We should have left then because the poor service continued. She finally came back and took the drink order. Drinks came quickly. She then asked, again dryly, if we were ready to order. We got a few appetizers. After bringing the food, she never checked back to see if we were enjoying it, or to ask us if we needed anything. She was more attentive to a group of older gentlemen, which is fine, but don't ignore your other customers. My husband had to ask her for another beer because she didn't check on us. I would have ordered another drink but her attitude (no smile or anything) was so bad, I decided against it. I highly doubt I will return. The place wasn't really clean, restrooms were almost out of paper towels and toilet paper. Let's do better. I would love to support black businesses but it's hard when I am paying decent prices for indecent service. read more

I came for a house music event that my friend's husband put together. We waiting over 30 mins for the server to come for drinks and I finally decided to go to the bar. I decided to try Side Car and it was very citrus-y. I told the bartender and she asked if I wanted it more simple syrup. Ah no. Her fix was to add more triple sec. Wasn't a Side Car. We finally flagged down her down our server and I ordered wings and fries. Two hours later, we still didn't have our food. My friend went to the owner and he said, let me see what happened. His excuses were they don't usually have this many people on a Friday (clearly my friend's event brought people in), he was short staffed and the staff in the kitchen wasn't the usual people. Where did customer service go? Side note to this story: I ordered an Old Fashioned from the server and 20 mins later she comes back with the drink and proceeds to pour it into a martini glass that was sitting in from of me that had Side Car in it. I look at her shocked and she said, "oh you didn't want it in that?" Huh? It was a dirty glass that had a different drink in it! When the owner returned, his fix was to say, "all I can do is apologize." This is how he chose rectify the situation. He didn't offer us a round of drinks or anything. He should check out a white establishment and learn something about how to treat your customers. Very sad. read more

My husband and I went for dinner and ordered the grilled salmon dinner. We didn't think to ask if it was fresh or frozen? The sides of vegetable medley, black beans and corn in addition to the small piece of salmon was not fresh. It looked and tasted like frozen food . Apparently that was not the meal to order. The service was ok, our waitress couldn't be held accountable for the food presentation and not being served hot. She was able to get another serving of hot sides after a while, we got it to go. I didn't like the fact they took forever to take our order for food and drink orders. But when we finally got our food and drinks....... I would love to have given this more stars. we have been here multiple times for lunch and really enjoy the food. the problem is, when there is a private party, the whole restaurant is closed to the public. this has happened to us 3 times already. I'm tired of driving there only to be turned away when there is a private event. that is really going to hurt your business. First, we arrived at 7:30 and paid the $25 per person cover charge because a live band would be playing at 9pm. We sat at a table and proceeded to wait. The waitress stopped at the table next to us 3 times and never once stopping to ask if we wanted anything. My husband tried stopping her and she told him to wait a minute. By 8:30 he went to the bar to order food. It then took over 30 minutes before we got our food. In this hour and a half, more people arrived. They were seated, served, and done eating before our food finally arrived. The band had started and it was excessively loud. The place was maybe 1/2 occupied and the speakers were at concert volume. Now that the frustrations have been shared, the positives: the wings were fire, well seasoned and a normal size. The steak tacos were decent but missing the jerk sauce that should have been with them. At about 9:20 someone came over to offer amends, however we had already paid for everything at the bar. Lastly, the drink I had was potent. I don't know why the waitress working our area never found time for us. The table behind us, that she spent so much time with, left at 9pm. I guess they didn't want to pay the $25 cover to hear the band. And why would they? They'd been served, received a second round of drinks, and ten minutes of casual conversation while we yet waited to get anything. The volume and selection of music that was not live was good. I'll probably order wings for takeout but I'll never pay another $25 cover to be ignored. The band, Kendra Music featuring Isaiah Mitchell and E. Songbird, was really good but the speakers were too loud. The waitress that took over the table after we got our food seemed attentive. She didn't need to do anything for us, but the people we shared our table with seemed to get good service. read more

Went with five colleagues we were greeted and served by Shawn, who provided good customerservice service throughout our entire visit. We arrived during happy hour and for starters everyone ordered margaritas-classic/watermelon/peach. They tasted good and were packing a small punch! We ordered a variety of food: appetizers-fried mushrooms, fried green beans, & grilled shrimp skewers, they were out of fried green tomatoes; entrees-maxwell style polish w/fries, philly cheesesteak, philly chicken cheese sandwich, fried rib tips w/onion rings & loaded mashed potatoes, salmon w/broccoli & loaded mashed potatoes, & my meal, the alfredo bow tie pasta w/broccoli, chicken, & shrimp- the cook forgot the mushrooms. But I was offered a side of sauteed mushrooms. We ordered a 2nd round of margaritas & everyone enjoyed their food! We left kind of early but were informed they have a comedy show on Thursdays so we'll be back for some laughs. So I don't usually do this, but I feel it necessary this time. Last night, we tried Grays Social in Oak Forest for dinner. We walked in the door at about 7:05. It was about 7:20 before our server came to ask us if we wanted something to drink. Luckily, We took the opportunity to order our food. We ordered some fried pickles, a cheeseburger, and the fried catfish on the recommendation of our server. Sandy tried to get some wine. They were out of her first two choices, both reds. She had to settle for a white wine. They brought it to her as a single serving bottle and the empty glass. It was about 8:05 by the time we got our fried pickles. Our dinner came out about 8:20. Now, for full disclosure, Sandy said the catfish was really good. My burger was good, but there is no way that it ever started as a half pound of meat. Sandy got broccoli, and was impressed that it was fresh broccoli. At about 8:45, we were offered a drink by the "owner" through our server. At this point, we were ready to go home so we declined. Our bill came, and we were charged for all three wines my wife tried to order but didn't receive. We decided we would have to wait too long to get it fixed so we just paid the bill as it was. I have a few recommendations to the business if they want to survive as a business. First, don't make someone wait 15 minutes to order drinks. Second, don't make people wait 40 minutes for their appetizer. As a server, check on your customers once in a while. We never saw our server after she took our order until we got our food 40 minutes later. I don't think we will ever be back so for now, it's on to try another new place next time. We really wanted to stay in Oak Forest, but this place isn't going to last much longer than the Rockin Horse. I give Grays Social 1 1/2 forks. read more

We heard good things about Grey's so we decided to give it a try over the weekend! We walked in, good music was playing, atmosphere was welcoming, we were greeted right away and got a table. Our waitress was attentive and gave us some recommendations on what to order. The food was amazing (like still thinking about it 2 days later amazing...) Our drinks were well made and reasonably priced, and the owner even came over to check how everything was. This review is the the service of booking an event. The owner tends to overbook . I booked the venue in October for the entire space of 6 to close in June. Plenty of time right. The owner decided to book two other events merging into my time. I did not find out until a week before . My event planner was scheduled to be able to decorate at 4 and was not able to begin until about 6:15 when my guest was arriving and the other party was still going. I was promised that the other party would end at 6:00 ( once he discovered his error) The other party was over at 6:45 to be exact. My event planner did not complete decorations until 7:45 and we just decided not use all that she had due to guest and timing. I had a specific seat for my mom who is 85 years old. He did not clear the area for her to sit , he just said to me your mom can sit over there and that his mom is on a walker as well. (smh). He was rude and not very accommodating without argument. Some guest were over priced on food and drink. So , if you go read your receipt carefully. It's too bad ppl don't respect the customers that gives them business. read more
